Pros +
- This hotel is such a class act! The staff here goes above and beyond for you - no matter who you are, how big your party is, whatever you need. From the moment we got in the car pick up at the airport, we were treated to comfort and relaxation... the car was stocked with treats and drinks, had all the car seats we requested, and the driver was so friendly. When we arrived at the hotel, we were struck by its beauty and loved how hidden in the jungle it felt. We were greeted, given delicious welcome drinks (they even tailored a alcoholic one for our son), and then shown around the property. I really appreciate that we were able to get seamlessly into our room since we have two small children - no waiting at a desk for someone to come check you in. We were given a room upgrade that overlooked the ocean and you could hear the waves crashing from bed - heaven. The room is spacious and the fixtures are gorgeous. We had drinks and snacks waiting for us, as well as toys and set up for our children. This kid is so kid friendly despite being a very grown up and classy hotel. The food at Maroma is absolutely delicious - every restaurant and every dish was incredible. The pool is warm and it never feels too crowded by the beach or pool - they do a great job keeping it relatively quiet so you can relax. I would like to say of all the things about this hotel, hands down has to be the staff - every single person we met was incredibly helpful, genuine, and just on the top of their hospitality game. Well done Maroma staff - you are truly an amazing bunch! We'll be back.
- They let me check out at 7 pm. I’m sure this wouldn't have happened if they were fully booked, but I felt like royalty the whole time. The steak at Wooden is the best I’ve ever had. ?
- Where to begin? The location is great, conveniently located 25 mins away from the Cancun airport. The entrance to the property is sophisticated and welcoming, yet not ostentatious. The property is tucked away from the main road and you feel in a bubble, away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun & PdC. The décor is tasteful and the focus is one's wellbeing and nature. The main pool is not too deep and the temperature was ideal. The beach is beautiful: warm temperature, clear water with little gulfweed (I went in early March), and white sand. There are multiple beach beds, all with an available umbrella for those seeking shade. The food was delightful, having eaten in all 3 restaurants, plus they feature excellent cocktails. The room was magnificent. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and got an upgrade to a second-story oceanview 2-bedroom suite. It boasted a social area with a balcony, another side terrace with a hammock and a plunge pool, the main bedroom with a king-sized bed, another bedroom with 2 twin beds and bathroom, and a bathroom with 2 closets, his-and-hers sinks, a shower, and a bathtub. They provide hats, kaftans, sandals, bathrobes, & a beach bag for use during one's stay. The water pressure (I'm a stickler for this) was excellent, as was the towels' quality. The mattress was very comfortable and the goose-feathered pillows were a dream. The A/C was potent enough to cool the large bedroom despite the outside warmth and humidity, plus, there is a ceiling fan available as well. We enjoyed a couple's massage at Guerlain's first spa in Latin America, as well as a sunrise meditation and yoga class. But the pièce de résistance is the staff: well-manicured, warm, friendly, courteous, and extremely attentive. Truly a delight.

- this is being very particular one day we got a bit unlucky and had poor service for breakfast but i feel this was an exception and not worthy of any real critiquethe food in woodend - the meat is cooked amazing . i felt some of the sides /accompaniments lacked a touch of flavor ( pork ) . but again that’s being very picky
- This hotel has great facilities, staff, great food but it’s very expensive especially for food in an evening, you are there to relax so you don’t leave the hotel, so you have to eat there.

The location is great and feels secluded, staff we’re all excellent. We had a beach side suite which was spacious and straight onto the beach. The best bed I think I’ve ever slept in!

Every part of our stay was perfect down to every last detail! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive—we didn’t have to lift a finger :)The staff literally took care of everything. Food was excellent in every regard and the property was immaculate. We’d return to stay at Maroma without a second thought.
Nothing— everything was actually perfect!
The service was fantastic. It rained at lot every day of our trip but the staff was so nice and accommodating we still had a great stay.
Wonderful experience in every way. The attentiveness of the staff, the authenticity of everyone we met, the excellent food, comfort of the room were all outstanding. But, the most special part of the experience was the subtle Mayan influence that clearly, for those of us who are healers, found quite wonderful. We celebrated our 36 years of marriage in Maroma.
This is the best and most beautiful hotel we have ever been so far.. Everyone in the hotel is extremely caring and nice, food is amazing, every restaurant is unique, the level on detail is perfect! We can’t wait to go back! Special thanks to Rosita and Julio for all the advices and excellent treatment. Gracias por todo!
Leaving, next time I wanna stay for a month minimum
Staff, setting, vibe, intimate size.... Wonderful beach and jungle setting. Yoga on the roof, terrific snorkeling, terrific food. Will definitely return.
Loved everything!
Pretty beach, soft sand
I’ve been to several Belmond in Europe and North America, this one doesn’t meet my expectation of a Belmond. The staff were nice, but the property itself is very much sub standard for a Belmond. The building material, the furnitures, the bed, the art works looks and feels more like stuff I would find at a 3 stars hotel. Don’t even get me started on the spa! Amazing looking entrance, then it was all down hill from there! The staff were attentive and most of them Speaks English better than me speaking Spanish, unfortunately their English is not fluent enough to communicate over the phone and require 2 phone call for most of my room service request. My disappointment with this particular Belmond is not with the staff. Every Belmond I’ve been to had a few things in common: exceptional services, great location, gorgeous building, as many if not more luxurious amenities than the Ritz! Belmond Maroma is barely making the grade in term of service while it fail in all area that makes a hotel a Belmond!
Unrivaled service. There is not the word No in their vocabulary. The restaurants are exceptional and the setting is ideal. The place is perfect for relaxation and to switch off.
