Hotel Del Portal, Puebla

Is in a very good location everything is walking distance.

They don't have heating in the room, and the shower little water caming out, take me forever shower

I like that it was close to the zocalo Right next door is a Pizza Hut and Kfc.. Steps away is all the restaurants you can imagine. The Puebla experience is amazing

Location was perfect and the room was clean and comfortable.

The shower was either extremely hot or cold, no in between.

The first room they gave me was really small with barely a window. I recommend upgrading to a room with a balcony.

The location is spot on amazing! The staff were friendly and attentive. I found the room to be clean and in good order.

Electric sockets are not convenient. They were far from the bed. Bring an extension cord to have your phone charging next to you. Also, there is no central air. When we arrived the room was warm and kind of musty. Turning on the portable fan and opening the window solved the issue.

Excellent location. Very comfortable bed. The bathroom and shower box are small, but the shower is very good.

Location was amazing. Easy walking to lots of sites, churches, restaurants. Rooms were small but very efficient and clean. Beds and linens were comfortable. Shower was very good. Maid service was excellent also. Lobby was very nice to hang out while waiting for friends to meet up. Lovely live music on weekend mornings. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Perfecto! This hotel was located so central to everything`we wanted to do. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel if you visit this wonderful historic city.

The location

Some of the front desk workers were not very friendly. And we had asked for transportation to the mexico airport and we were told that it would be a full size vehicle as we had large luggage and when the person got there it was a smaller car. We were a little stuffed in the car. Even the driver was a little surprised. But the driver was nice just I think they should have a little more honesty. Also the second room we reserved upon arrival had a musty smell like maybe an old diry rag or mop had been used to clean the room. The sent someone up to spray but not sure why the room would stink like that.

The hotel is close to the Centro. However, it’s not worth it! Check well before booking and safe your money!

It’s an old hotel, no A/C, old portable fan which makes a noise when turned on, old staffy smell inside the room. I was very disappointed about the room conditions and I asked JORGE, the front desk clerk, I need to change because of all the details described above. He was rude, sarcastic and impolite. He never apologized for the inconvenience it has caused to my mom and myself. He only focused on EXTRA money I need to pay cause I am the one who asked to change rooms. This was a total SCAM. They won’t even work with you. It’s understandable a small fee but not a lot more money. The issue was from the hotel to begin with. They should know the conditions for the room before its display to rent to tourists. I asked JORGE for his last name, or the manager and he refused to provide this information. Since I am a tourist and I am only a few days in Puebla I cannot put up with this behavior at all and I decided to leave the hotel the very next day. The hotel kept my money and my 4 day reservation. I went somewhere else.

The room was on the weird end top of the 1st. Floor dark too dark room nice when you want to sleep, but a lot of noise was coming thru the blind window style facing the other rooms on the 1st. Floor. The safe was not working. I did not waste my time to report it and wait to be fixed.

Staff were incredibly helpful even with a bit of a language barrier! Rooms, facilities and linens were clean.
