Pros +
- I liked how helpful the staff was. I needed help with booking dinner once I was checkered in and the staff helped me with suggestions for dinner and a ride back & forth.
- The room and view was spectacular. Truly 5 star. The gym was very well equipped and open 24 hours…even Chris Bumsted (Mr Olympia) would have been happy. The spa facilities were excellent.
- The staff were fantastic. Very warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. Everyone made the stay feel welcoming. The rooms were spacious and super comfortable and the views were stunning. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Both the Japanese and Hawaiian options were well-prepared and full of flavor.
Cons -
- I liked everything, and dont have any complaints.
- TV didn’t have App options or mirroring otherwise it was fine.
- Dinner was disappointing. It looked amazing, but the flavors just weren’t there. Pretty plates don’t make up for bland food. And then there’s the extra charges (4,000 yen for parking and nearly 4,000 yen just to use the pool and sauna? That’s ridiculous). This hotel has a bit of an identity crisis. It’s trying really hard to channel The Kahala resort in Hawaii, but… you’re in Yokohama. Instead of leaning into its location and embracing a Japanese aesthetic, it’s forcing a theme that doesn’t quite fit. Even the interior design felt confused, like they couldn’t decide what vibe they were going for.

Staff, room, cleanliness
Breakfast buffet was very underwhelming. Restaurant food was average and expensive.
We had one night there combined with a birthday celebration. We enjoyed the spacious room with a view as well as the proximity to the Rinko park. The dinner that night was top-notch, both from eh fold selection and cozy setting in the private room. The team at the receptionbgrlped us with arranging short-term babysitting service so we could spend a few hours out before the night. Overall, it was an excellent stay, way beyond what we expected.
The Hotel is a gold standard in luxury, from the staff to the rooms. I loved the association to the Kahala Hotel in Hawaii and it brought so much nostalgia since I am from Hawaii and used to work at the Kahala resort when it was still a Mandarin Oriental property. The iconic sweets, the ambiance, traditions and level of service are exactly the same. It reminded me so much of home in Hawaii. This is my first stay here so I could not explore everything at the property but if I ever get another chance I will definitely stay here again.
The location was a little out of the way but is only a minor detail as Minato Mirai is not hard to navigate or you're main purpose of stay is a short getaway from the city. The property however is situated right next to Pacifco so if you are there for a convention or event its the perfect location. The location also leaves a bit to be desired if you are looking for a place with a view, however the ambiance of the hotel makes up for this minor detail and the architecture and design of the property is a site to behold. I did not get an opportunity to tour the facilities or property as much as I wanted to so I will definitely stay here again.
Very nice hotel, clean, nicely furnished, very nice bathroom, excellent staff. Breakfast buffet included many Japanese selections.
Inconvenient location, no restaurants or shopping nearby and hotel restaurants were expensive. Could hear nightclub sounds even several floors away.
Large and luxurious rooms, a spectacular view of the bay, a very kind staff with a high sense of service even compared to Japan
We stayed for my birthday celebration, staffs are very welcoming, the bed was super comfortable
we chose this hotel because it was ideally located close to a relative who lives 200 meters away. The service in the hotel is superb, and the staff are a delight.
The hotel is not organised in a way that would appeal to folk like us, or I suspect to the vast majority of non-Japanese tourists. For a start, the rooms are very poorly designed - lots of wasted space, but with no veranda, only room for a single person to sit comfortably (instead of a sofa, it had a chaise longue!), and worst of all only 2 drawers for clothes. There were 2 shelves under the safe, but I had to crawl on the floor to access them. Also, why aren't the fridge and kettle together instead of being on opposite sides of the room? Most disappointing of all were the restaurants. Yes, the food was excellent - absolutely delicious, in fact. But when I'm on vacation, I do not want to have to book a table in advance for breakfast. I want to feel free to go to breakfast at leisure when I am ready. Nor do I want a set menu chosen in advance. Every other 5* hotel I have ever seen has a buffet breakfast. Nor did there seem to be anywhere to eat between normal mealtimes - which is often needed when arriving from abroad. What about the view? Why is there nowhere to sit and have a coffee during the day or a cocktail at sunset while enjoying the view? The lobby on the 14th floor has uncomfortable and inadequate seating. On the Ist floor, there is nowhere to sit down while waiting for a taxi. A great pity that this wonderful staff are let down by the poor organisation
Big hotel with many attractions like swimming pool and small public bath. Staff is educated very well. They communicate with microphone or something that they share where we should go to or try to maximise the utilisation. Small public bath warmed us a lot. The room was brilliant. Very clean and luxurious looking room.
The front is somehow the top of the building and we have to go to the top. We had to wait quite sometime compared to other hotel to do check in and out.
Close to the train
Hawaiian themed hotel no Hawaiian food
Friendly and helpful staffs. Spa amenities were fragrant and nice.
Location was still undeveloped. Quite a distance from subway station and hard to find taxi. No view. Room was compact.
Stunning property. Rooms were huge and spa was amazing. Food in the restaurants was absolutely delicious.
That even as a hotel guest you had to pay a charge to sit in the piano bar.
Beautiful, large room with lots of amenities and very comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean hotel with great staff and breakfast.
Location was a bit far out.
Very friendly staff. Good view from our room that was on the 11th floor. Breakfast buffet was worth the price.
The hotel room is huge by Japanese hotel standards
The processes are unexpectedly clumsy given that this is a 5-star hotel. At check-in you are first directed to sit at a lounge then almost immediately get up and move to a check-in desk. At check-out, it was the same. Wait at a lounge then almost immediately move to a check-in desk. Then after check-in I stayed at the lounge for about 40 mins waiting for my husband and finally when we went to leave via the elevators, a service staff chased me to the elevators asking if I had already completed check out. They had 40 mins to ask me that question OR they could have checked with their colleague beforehand rather than chasing me down at the elevator.
New elegant hotel, good location, beautiful suite
The food was terrible either breakfast in the ballroom, which was only on a Saturday, in room breakfast n lunch in the lounge was cold. Every day our breakfast was allocated in a different place, which was very annoying and the hotel western breakfast was very limiting. Two hamburgers were $102 Aus and the spa treatments were good but extremely expensive ranging from $300 to $600 for facials and massages
Great staff. Good buffet breakfast. Large comfy room. Friendly toilet.
This well situated hotel near the convention center is moder, new and well cleaned property. The check in was very personalized and all staff is very professional. The receptionist escorted us to the room, showed us all possibilities and services. The room was large with nice view to harbor. The breakfasts were served in several ways - can make a reservation in buffet restaurant or a la carte restaurant Ozzio. The service in Ozzio restaurant was as in Michelin star restaurant (very professional and attentive service). The spa area with swiming pool, sauna and ,,onsen,, pools with hot waters were amazing.
The restaurant with breakfast buffet is advertising on 3 big screens the whole breakfast time the Kahala property in Hawai. Was nice to see but not every morning - we were in Japan so would prefere to see Japan culture.
