Hotel New Port Yokosuka

Rooms are enormous by Japan standards. In room laundry is a huge help. View from the 15th floor is awesome. Staff was very friendly and helped us navigate shipping our luggage to our next hotel in Osaka. Great value for the price.

A bit of a walk to/from the station (15 mins) with luggage in tow. Beds are HARD. Yokosuka is very loud at night with lots of motorcycles revving and sirens and the rooms do not seem very soundproof from the outside noise.

The staff and location

Room was good. Location was good. Staff were mostly good. Breakfast was bad enough that we skipped it most mornings and the breakfast staff were uninspired. A big plus was the in-room washer and dryer but plan on small loads. The drink tickets were free and an added bonus.

The breakfast. They didn't bother replacing the bread and baked goods, coffee was bad, most of the food was bad. The fruit and fruit juices were actually really good and better than I get almost anywhere stateside.

Worst staff service ever!!! It was late when I checked-in! A very rude young Japanese staff was there. Very disappointing that cant help clients.

I love the location, room, and the bed.

Everything was perfect.

Good size (for Japanese standards), clean room with washer, dryer, closets, basic kitchen with utensils and a nice bath with good water pressure. Bed was comfortable with a selection of pillows. Staff was friendly and breakfast was available in the mornings. Hotel bar available as well. A public workstation with a basic printer was available for guest use. Didn't use the public bath but seems like a nice feature if you're into that.

Clunky room keys (best left with the front desk). The AC shuts off when you leave, so the room is uncomfortably warm upon return. Hotel is a bit stingy with towels. The office chair was tilted, wobbly, and unusable, and the desk seemed designed for smaller individuals. Breakfast was OK, and the coffee wasn’t great - though that may be more of a personal preference. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, so be sure to have a backup if you need to get work done.

Had to have room key to turn on power to the room including AC which in August meant very hot room when you enter the room. Had to get a 2nd room key to leave power on. Dumb idea

For anybody having to do work on the base, you really can't find more value for the price than this hotel. The rooms are massive by Japanese standards, come with washer and dryer standard as well as a full kitchen. Staff is courteous and helpful. If there's something you need, they have probably thought of it. I was staying there with a colleague whose daughter lost a retainer in the trash. The staff, exceeding all expectations, went through the hotel's trash and successfully found the retainer. I just don't know what to say about that. Superior place

I would not rebook this hotel.

The building's rooms are not enclosed, the rooms open to the outside. Weather was cold and windy. Waiting for the elevator in a windy breezeway was not comfortable. I know that Japan is not big on breakfast, but this was below expectations.

It wasn’t close to the train station but walkable. The room had a kitchenette with pots and pans, utensils, microwave, I’ve toaster, everything.

They didn’t explain that they had all that above! There is a separate bath facility but there was no mention of it.

Very clean, washer/dryer, kitchenette, heated toilet seat, inexpensive, close to train, beautiful parks nearby, walking distance to restaurants and shopping

Hotel was great

Breakfast was horrible. Hot food was cold and coffee was gross. Would not recommend getting breakfast at the hotel, we wasted money.

We love the hotel, staff, location, amenities, and overall cleanliness.

We just have a really hard time sleeping. Our room is always too hot. The air conditioners are not strong, and our room is usually 75-85°F with the air conditioner on. We can't sleep. We wake up drenched in sweat every night. I really love this hotel, but our rest is super important to us. We've stayed here three times now and it might be our last because of how uncomfortable we are when we sleep.

The location is convenient, with the hotel situated near a large shopping mall and major attractions. The room is well-equipped, with a washing machine, dryer, and a small kitchenette - everything you could need.

I loved that the hotel was close to the navy base. I liked that the hotel was walking distance to plenty of places to eat and there were a lot of things to do in the surrounding area
