Sumner Bay Motel

Super close to the shops and bus stopClean and modern rooms

The owner was friendly and helpful. The location was great as it was close to everything. The room was comfy, clean and modern with everything we needed.

The proximity to the beach and local bus stops for easy access to the city was great. Lovely staff were very attentive and caring toward their guests needs. Very comfortable and clean room too.

Fabulous location. Quiet and the owners were warm, informative and helpful.

There was a supermarket within walking distance. There was no necessity to go out if we didn't feel like it. We were close to our son and his family, but not too close. The available facilities suited our needs. All staff we dealt with were exceptionally friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. A very relaxing time was had.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Location excellent and facilities all good.Owners Tony and Soph made the stay excellent, really accommodating and friendly.

Great location within walking distance of shops and multiple restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us tips on the best places to eat. Whilst the location was central our room was quiet and the beds extremely comfortable. The small kitchenette was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay.

We had an accessible room, and the only table was a high table with two bar type stools which made sitting at the table a bit difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

Excellent location, close to beach and town centre with a good range of shops and restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Nice location, walking distance to restaurants & waterfront. Very friendly & helpful staff.

It an easy walk to the beach. Comfortable and clean.

Location to the beach and local shops,Clean, comfortable and spacious.

Nothing? Literally perfect

Sophie and Tony were both wonderful and friendly. We had to leave in the early hours for a flight and returned a couple of days later on a late flight and they accommodated us without any trouble. They kept my drink beaker too which I accidentally forgot on the first visit. The single and split rooms were very clean and comfortable. Thanks both.

We loved loved loved Sumner Bay Motel! Tony and Sophie were wonderful hosts, our spacious, well-appointed, urban-vibe room with a balcony was amazing, and the beach and restaurants were just a hop and a skip away. Our highest recommendation!

Warm welcome. Clean and comfortable. Very well located in the seaside suburb of Sumner

The manager was very helpful and informative and showed us to our room . The room was clean and well appointed & had a great shower. The motel is very near to Sumner beach and restaurants & we enjoyed fish and chips by the beach. We only stayed here one night but we really enjoyed our short stay here.

Nothing to say.

Tony very friendly and helpful

Bit annoyed our booking was changed. We booked for 3 kids as well but given two studio units. Not sure who was af fault

We had an amazing stay here! We were stuck last minute without accommodation for a busy weekend in Christchurch and these guys were so helpful in letting us stay for 3 nights! The location and cleanliness were major standout points and we couldn't recommend staying here enough! We will definitely be back!

The owner was very helpful and polite, the accommodation was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of tea and coffee which we appreciated. The location is perfect as everything is within easy reach. After arriving we parked and walked to the local area. The bohemian bakery is worth a visit for a breakfast pastry.

The location was excellent. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet and cleanThe fellow at check was very friendly and pleasant

Clean, great staff, comfortable and quiet

A bit dated
