The Redwood Hotel

Was clean.

Bed in a bad condition and old, we could not sleep at all.....

Reasonably clean, nice staff, good restaurant on sight, and free laundry

A bit dated. Had a heated blanket but no way to plug it in. Carpet could be replaced and the light was out in the bathroom

Clean, friendly, close to everything we needed, great feed at the bar/ grill. Laundry was a bonus.

I was surprised that the facilities were so 1960's, with just the odd nod to modernisation, i.e. the kwilla deck, the colour t.v. , wifi, and some attempt to update the heating system, and there was even a couple of cobwebs.There was no double glazing, I could hear the residents in both adjoining units talking, there was no lock on the internal door, the shower was positively inadequate - didn't even have a reliable supply of hot water.

Budget friendly, bathtub, a bottle of milk supplied for coffee, communication with a staff

Location was good for our trip around the south island, was a quiet area, qirg plenty of parking. Tea, coffee with biscuits supplies.

We knew it was a budget motel but it was rather dated, the rooms were tired and in need of redecorating.

It was close to the airport which was very handy since our arrival was around midnight.

The room was very clean

Hard bed, Shower, was hard to use, water leaked on floor all the time, Toilet was hard to flush

For the price, excellent. Oldish but tidy and clean. Maybe bed slightly on hard side. Great to have hotel on premises. If we wanted to cook, communal kitchen a bit small

The room was comfy and clean, although it had a smell about it that wasnt a smell i could pick.

Staff was extremely supportive.Beds were comfortable.Nice and quiet property.Laundry facilities was free.

Booked for 3 children one adult 2 kids had to sleep on pull out couch other on camp bed only one bed in place not good Netflix keep cutting off and the steps up are hard wouldn't stay again

the second room had a nice green attached

first room was smelly and by trying to vent I had to discover that the EMERGENCY EXIT was not working! Could not open the emergency door. Unusual handle without any sign how to use was slackly but not working. I also couldn’t unlock the door from outside with the room-key. Mattresses were standing right beside. Real nice fire-death-trap. No reaction from staff or owners direct at site and or after 3 weeks.

Four of us flew in on the last flight and wanted the most affordable hotel possible for one night. The Redwood accommodated our very late check in, and ended up cheaper than another hostel option. Facilities are older, but in brilliant condition inside and very clean. For the price, we were very happy and comfortable. Fresh milk and refreshments were provided. Very cool retro vibe also! Thanks for hosting.

The mattress was soft with a slight dip, but not an issue at all.

So bad

This place was called "Hotel" but it was more like an inn. Facilities were so poor and it needs to be renovated. I will never stay in this hotel again. Also they sent me an email saying that they would close reception at 5pm but when I arrived at 4.30pm, the office was already closed without any notice of closing earlier than the previously arranged time. I think this place has to be rebuilt again rather than renovated.

Good parking

The beds were creaky and uncomfortable. Very outdated styling and ammenities

Meals were great, very good pricing for meals and drinks.

Shower over bathtub, a shower stall or wet room would be great.

Friendly & helpful lady staff member at check in, I only needed for one night, room pretty basic but thats alI I was after, clean & tidy, plenty of parking & not too much road noise, has a basic communal kitchen there as well if you wanted to use it, excellent bar/restaurant across the carpark with friendly staff, great meal menu & well priced. Only 10 to 15 minutes from the airport depending on traffic so great overall.

Initially thought it was one of those MSD motels ?, I've stayed in a few, but it's not after having a look around so poor judgment on my behalf, apologies

Value price, really clean, provides 2x bottles of good fresh milk, drinking water, choc chip cookies and good tea coffee and hot chocolate selection. Had everything we needed in our room. Also block out curtains ensuring dark room overnight. Extra pillows in cupboard. Friendly staff.

Food (burgers) were average Very generous serves and chips were good
