- worn rooms- old bathrooms- this hotel has seen better times and is not worth 4 stars- not modern at all- good marketing for these rooms- not worth the price- super noisy fridge

Rooms are spacious, and nicely furnished, so are nice to relax in. The staff are friendly and helpful, and I noticed they spoke a variety of languages, so that makes a variety of people feel welcome. I'd returned as a personal customer after I stayed for work a few months ago and was not disappointed.

The restaurant - it was curry night but the food was barely warm, (the paneer in one curry was actually still cold) and the curry was extremely mild with nothing offered to beef up the spice a bit. If the staff are going to encourage people to use the restaurant then the food has to live up to the recommendation. It really did not. Very disappointing.

Large rooms, very clean, great location and wonderful staff.

No cooking facilities ie microwave etc. No big deal but it was a pain after a long drive and not wanting to go out to dinner. Room service was sub par and expensive.

Great staff and facilities. Great breakfast buffet. Thanks for the room upgrade, awesome.

Vqqery dated room, but amenities all there.. Swimming pool wasn't cleaned or vacuumed while we stayed...such a great asset sorry to see wasn't maintained to a higher standard1

The staff brought our luggage upstairs to our room, since we are in our 80's.

Location is beautiful but far from center

This is an excellent accommodation. The building itself is tutor style and harkens back to England. It’s in a good location, the apartment was very nicely laid out and roomie and had all the expected amenities. I enjoyed the pool as well. Breakfast was a fantastic spread!

The pillows were not to my liking (difficult to form fit to neck, head and shoulders).

After initially complaining about a bad smell in our initial cheap room, they upgraded us at our own expense.Even though we had to pay for our own upgrade, the room was worth every penny. Very clean and much more comfortable.

The smell in our initial room (cheaper rooms)If only they could have upgraded us immediately when we first complained about the smell during our check in. As we had to spend one night with the smell because they didn't have any rooms available during late check in.However after complaining about it early the next morning, they were able to move us immediately about 7am in the morning so we appreciated the move that morning.

Great location, enjoyed the Carlton up the road for dinner, staff were very welcoming and friendly to deal with, we were upgraded to an Executive Suite which was a nice surprise and very spacious and modern compared to pics online. We will book this again as we’re very happy.

Very welcoming and friendly staff who responded quickly to our request. The accommodation was a good size with a good size bed and good facilities. We ate at the restaurant which was good quality with a varied menu. Located near a bus stop but we walked to the city in 30 minutes.

It was a little tired looking

This accommodation was exactly as described - we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The breakfast was lovely, and a great variety. Our rooms were absolutely amazing, clean and comfy - we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend. The facilities were also great.

There as nothing we didn't like. We could walk to catch buses and trams, and we were close driving distance to everything. We have no complaints about anything. This accommodation was a wonderful choice for our holiday, we loved it.

Beautifully presented from gardens to reception to the themed buildings and rooms. Large lovely room (spoilt with an upgrade!) with everything you need and more. Most comfortable bed and arm chairs great too. Breakfast amazing in a lovely themed restaurant room. Staff friendly and professional. Loved my stay and wished it wasn’t my final night in Christchurch.

It has character, felt peaceful and safe

Breakfast was bit “meh”. Hot food was hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, beans, tomatoes, bacon and sausages. The sausages looked like they had been barely cooked, hashbrowns ran out and were not topped up. Pastries were small croissants and some sort of tiny muffin. There was yoghurt and melon, orange and some yoghurt parfaits but no non dairy alternatives offered. I’m allergic to dairy and to melon so couldn’t really eat from that section. Only 1 fruit juice offered. I would stay at this property again but I wouldnt be bother purchasing breakfast

The receptionist personnel was very friendly, the room clean and well organized

The room was close to the road, the bathroom, the kitchen and carpet were old and needed an update. Behind the room a generator made noise.

The architecture was gorgeous. The breakfast was lovely. It apartment was newly renovated and decked out with lovely furniture.

In the size hotel apartment, a kitchenette would have been great.
