Colombo in the City Motel

Living space had comfortable lounge chairs and good lighting. Nice for resting after sightseeing. Staff responded quickly to resolve a hot water problem. Adequate kitchen.

No smart tv or streaming services.

Great location, easy walking to the city.Lovely people, they set up an extra bed for us and even gifted our kids a map of the south island to track the route. Facilities are a bit older but clean and working.

Good Location, walking distance to downtown. Quiet. Good bed. Property is clean.

Furnishings are a little "vintage". But everything works.

Spotless!Kind front desk clerk warned us to bring our raincoats as the forecast was calling for rain... and she was right.Close enough to walk to everything without a car.

Excellent location! Could walk everywhere ~~ lovely parks close by, and lively dining area close by.

For apartments on the second floor, there is no elevator. You need to haul your bags up the stairs.

Clean, carpark is available. We were given room on 1st floor so it was good, don’t need to carry Luggage upstair.

It is quite a distant from centre, abt 15 mins walk. There Are restaurants nearby but limited choice

Shower...unfortunately the shower would not hold a constant temperature...it would suddenly become really hot...

Outstanding customer service, staff were very helpful and friendly. Room definitely had a woman's touch which was very much appreciated. Very clean and comfortable.

Room was very comfortable. The pillows were outstanding! The place was super clean, ample towels. It's a very walkable location.

The wifi was weak - probably because I was in a far corner. I was unable to watch Netflix on my laptop.

The motel was very handy to the main CBD area and also to restaurants- we were able to leave the car and walk a lot.

Lots of light seeping in around blinds and curtains during the night, be great if outdoor lighting was on sensors? Outdoor carpet on top floor stayed wet and saturated all the time, needed to remember to wear shoes at all times!

Great location .Easy walk into town to jump on the tram .Everything very comfortable. Good size fridge and comfy bed .NIce owner.

The walk to restaurants and the botanical gardens is 45-50 minutes-not close. The property has parking which in a city is a big plus. Our room was clean and had all the amenities but felt a bit like a cave-no slider. Just a window over the bed. A patio but was very confined and under the windows of the motel next door.

The room we booked actually was better equipped than we thought, it had two hot plates that allowed us to cook meals , as my wife is vegan and also can't eat spicy food this was great as Christchurch appears to have very few restaurants that can cater for her need. There are however quite a lot of good restaurants nearby if you aren't vegan. It's close to Quake city and Botanic gardens .This is a spacious room, efficient heater in shower room as well as one in the main room. The beds were really comfy, cooking facilities very good , two comfy armchairs, heavy drapes kept from warm and dark at night, stopping street light from spilling in, its also very quiet , so good place to sleep well at night. There's parking right outside the room.sky tv with 50 channels , so quite a lot to watch such as BBC earth. Very comfortable and well equipped room in great condition.

The free internet service was best used late at night , it cut on and off quite a lot during peak hours .The sink in the shower area too a long time to drain, but it still worked.it's quite a distance from the city centre if you can't walk far .Very little to complain about , we'd definitely stay again .

Location was great.Sky TV was not working upstairs or down.Hand soap dispenser empty in bathroom.Bed was uncomfortable & hardI thought it was strange there was a sign on the reception window saying to leave suitcases outside while you checked in.

There was a construction site next door to the motel, they started work at 6am, not nice for your guests to have loud building noise outside at that hour. It was not disclosed to me when I rang the property the day before to tell them I was a late check in, due to my work conference, I talked to the owners in person. I thought that was very poor communication from them.
