City Central Motel Apartments

Good value for the price, clean, and very close to the convention center

They did gave me two heaters to use but both are still not enough, it was freezing at night. At one point the electricity in the kitchen went out

They have a washing machine and dishwasher in the room.Location - Within 10 mins walk and you are in the town centerPlace is big and beds are comfortable

Some areas could be touched up to make the place seemed less "worn down" E.g. The very rusty shower curtain rod.

Great location, great sized rooms, and very well equipped with kitchen needs, crockery & glassware - probably the best equipped hotel in our entire NZ trip. Car parking OK. Check in process OK.

Our room was directly above what appeared to be the facilities laundry and there was a loud high speed, high pitched noise ( we guessed a dryer ?) that went for hours from about 9pm at night. Ended up having to phone motel number on repeat until someone answered ( reception closed) for them to send someone to attend and shut it down. We had been up since 3am for flights that morning and had another day of long drives ahead of us & desperately needed sleep. We had several rooms ( large family) and this noise could only be heard in the corner room. Was eventually sorted and we got sleep around 1130, but impacted our stay significantly.

Check in was easy and hotel location is quite easily accessible. It's lucky that our rooms are on ground floor so that's welcome news after ~ 12 hours of travel. Place is walking distance to Cardboard Cathedral but not really walking distance to botanic gardens.

The beds are too soft. And the pillows are soft too. We didn't quite like soft beds and pillows, and all of us didn't sleep much despite landing after ~ 12 hours of travel. Rooms can be cleaner - somehow it felt like the usual motels.

Kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. A room is specious

Very different from the photos that advertised looks very old. Wifi not working well even it located in city. Tv not working well.

Unacceptable.

Zero service provided. Never had a single room service in the three days I was there. Room carpets are worn. mirror was on the floor instead of being fixed on the wall, lighting was poor, toiletries were poor, carpet on the stairs was worn and torn. Not well located to get to the city. All in all, very poor. Will never stay there again.

Affordable accommodation, right in Christchurch with good facilities in the room

Being right on corner of Hereford street there was lot of foot traffic from people who didn’t stay there so , I was concerned about my car ?

Excellent location for downtown activities; easy walk. Felt safe, even walking alone at night.

Average room. "For purchase" snacks were almost all well past the expiration dates.

We went for just one night, we had everything we needed. No complaints.

Ground floor. Close to city centre. Friendly staff. Spacious room with microwave.

Bathroom floor got very wet with showers. Staff quickly cleaned up for us

We had the 2 bedroom family apartment with full kitchen and washing machine. The facilities were a godsend given we were travelling for a national sport tournament.

Only negative things were the double bed had really bad roll together which wasn’t ideal for someone who’s recently had spinal surgery and the shower water pressure was more of a trickle. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would book again.

The location was great, close to theatres, restaurants

The ants !!! Don’t leave any food open on benches, have stayed here before and had forgotten we had the same problem then!!

Unfortunately roadworks were underway all night keeping us awake but I assume this is only a temporary issue. The property is located on a busy street.

We got 2 connecting suites for a very reasonable price. It was also a good location. Will be an incredible location when the new stadium opens.

The rooms smelt musty. We needed to open all the doors and window. Also a jumper that I left on the sofa smelt musty when I put it on. You could also feel where there wasn’t any underlay under the carpet as you walked across the room- weird!Marketed as an apartment was weird as only a microwave to ‘cook’ things.
