Handy to where I was working

Parking was not ideal. Would have preferred a separate room/ door for toilet.

Location was great, particularly as the manager made sure that I had a very quiet unit as requested. (Just the birds - and she was right - no traffic noise at all!). Unit was thoughtly fully equipped with everything that was needed, The off street parking was freely available. As a single traveller I did not need a lot of room and the unit was plenty big enough.

The single flight of stairs were OK for me but might not suit everyone.

Good money and service for a motel, staff were really friendly, a 2 minute walk from the mall as well.

Only downside was no way to cool the room in summer.

Well equiped, quiet room, comfortable bed, great shower. Very helpful, friendly staff and owner. Regular buses to the city centre and back and also on the bus route for the airport. Reserved off street parking. Great to have a balcony, particularly as it was on the first floor.If we come back to Christchurch at any time we would definitely look to stay at the Athena Motel.

Maybe a few more kitchen utensils/ crockery, knives and forks, but not essential.

There were no black out curtains. Cars that arrived back late at night, the lights came through the curtains, disturbing sleep.

Very easy to get too good parking and across the road from Riccarton mall. Plenty of food choices on riccarton road. The host was great we extended our stay twice due to weather and flights it was not a problem.

I have stayed at the Athena Motel a couple times before. The location to Riccarton Mall and Airport is perfect.

Lovely welcoming staff, great shower with shower dome, very comfortable.Walk over the road to Westfield, supermarket, eateries.

Great location and the owners and rest of the team are just genuine nice people who are always friendly and so helpful which is why we prefer to stay here when we come to Christchurch, the place is close to the Riccarton mall and is within walking distance of numerous good restaurants.

The tradeoff for being so close is typical large city noise ..... that's not a complaint, it is just the reality of it but if you get a rear most unit, you will hardly notice it.

Hotel is close to a lot of different restaurants. Also close to shopping centre. Easy access to central Christchurch.

Ensuite bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and the shower was excellent. Private area outside the room for smokers was really appreciated.

Room was very small, and didn't have enough storage space. There was only 1 satellite (sky) channel, and no cooking facilities apart from a microwave. The stovetop wasnt there.

The owners are always very friendly. The units are always very clean. Being able to walk to Riccarton Mall is so convenient.

A high standard of cleanliness and a very modern unit containing all the facilities one could wish for. Very friendly and helpful staff, including showing us around the unit.

Unfortunately king singles beds put together by staff to form a larger king size bed are never as comfortable as units with an actual king size bed. Puts us off staying again, even though the unit in ever other aspect was excellent.

Good location, had everything we needed for our stay. Very quiet stay as our room was at the back of the complex - no road or other guest noise. Appreciated being allowed in earlier than check in time.

The configuration of the motel room was not very user friendly, but was fine for just the two of us.

Wonderful location and friendly, helpful staff.
