Southwark Apartments

Great location; helpful staff; easy to leave stuff in baggage room. Room had everything I needed: coffee, plunger, fridge, bathroom and comfy bed!

My room was adjacent to the communal balcony, so I had to shut curtains for privacy (I prefer to have the natural light and fresh air), but otherwise, all good.

Location was great

Car parking and the size of the room was really tight.

Southwark Hotel and Apartments is a very nice place to stay while in Christchurch. The staff was pleasant and professional. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The location is outstanding for walkable access to transportation services, restaurants, shops, and points of interest in the city.

The layout of the rooms on a very narrow hallway makes for difficult passage during housekeeping times. Noise is amplified so that any sound from adjacent doors or rooms is very noticeable.

Walking distance to everything, very clean and friendly staff.

We loved the location and the coffee shop "onsite" was a real bonus (as well as proximity to the Salt District). The towels were really soft and the layout was good. Loved the toilet/washroom area and the aircon was of a high standard.

No ice available (how about an ice machine to service the entire apartment block?) or a suggestion of where we can buy ice from a local source. Maybe a TV guide noting that as an Australian, we could not sign in to Netflix or any streaming services unfortunately. On one night (only one night), the neighbours were very noisy and drunk but they left to head out around 10pm so not an issue to complain about but maybe a gentle hint to people that they do have neighbours and the noise does carry (especially when they could have gone over the road to party on). But these are minor things and we would definitely stay here again and recommend to our family and friends that this is a great place to stay.

Bed was comfortable and location was just few min walk from the center, but still super quiet area. Nice sofa and the oven was a big plus. Size of the room was perfect.

Centrally located and excellent value for money. The property was clean and well suited to my needs. The room was comfortable and walking distance to a lot of great food and entertainment options.

The walls are a bit thin, but for the price range I was very happy.

Centrally located to downtown with many eateries.

The parking. I couldn’t get a spot on the property, so we parked at the public one close by but you can only park for 12 hours. You can’t pay for longer even so, after 12 hours you have to move and the street parking it’s only for short term.

No plug in the bathroom and no stove top or oven in kitchen.

Duplex room. Compact kitchen. Easy access to sights and sounds of Christchurch. Quiet ambience. Positive room service and clean up. In-room laundry set up!

Staff seemed disinterested in being there. Not very friendly and welcoming. Had high expectations of being told about Christchurch and things to do around. Nothing of that sort.

The room was welcoming. On the ground floor, designed with two sections, living and sleeping areas, was very nice, next to some good restaurants, and within walking distance from the cross junction

The fridge didn't have an icebox so that I couldn't freeze my ice pack. It is highly recommended to reserve a parking space; otherwise, you will pay much more.

The location was very good and the room condition was very good. I was upgraded to stay in one bedroom apartment with an extra single bed. Thanks!

The studio was too small so we were outside alot. And when upgraded, the bathroom seemed to be painted recently so that it smelled alot.

Good and clean place to stay in Christchurch, room was clean and comfortable but a bit small. More of a hotel room rather than an apartment.

No elevator to second floor so we had to carry our luggage up and down, the staff did offer help when we checked in.

Fully equipped with everything you need for a good stay. Comfy, clean, walkable to amenities and eateries.

The size of my room was just to small I could hardly get around the bed to open the window shades, no table to sit at and use a computer, after putting my suitcase on the floor not much room left, the smallest sink I've ever seen
