    • If you’re looking for family and kid-friendly in Sapporo this is your place! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and really provided five star level service, helping with bags, arranging taxis and tours, providing forgotten items, etc. Navigating their website without Japanese was a little challenging so just to recap some of their amenities and services:- indoor and outdoor waterpark free with stay- spa and traditional onsen free with stay- 2 restaurants and a bakery in winter, 4 restaurants in summer- Designated play areas in restaurants- Outdoor playground in summer- In winter they make a sledding slide/hill and some snowmen and smaller sculptures out of snow on the main lawn- Video game arcade- Free shuttle bus service to and from the train station running every 2 hours- Free lending library with children’s books (in Japanese) and toys - Swimsuit and pool float rental for <$10- Free travel stroller and child snow gear rental- Traditional baumkuchen pastries are made on site and they have these cool window panels along the way to the pool and spa building where kids can look in and see how the pastries are made (mine, a science and cooking nerd was mesmerized)Some of the rooms could use a refresh, but the same could be said of basically every chain hotel and this one has so much more to offer and at a far better price point. Really grateful for the phenomenal service and hope we’re able to come back in summer someday.
    • Passable
    • Buffect dinner is good, room size is good

    Cons -

    • Hard bed, one blanket instead of two. Very expensive buffet, which is not worth its price. The cakes sold by small shops were good. I would recommend my friends visiting Gateuax onsen and pool without staying and eating there ( the cakes are good though) and stay at Jozankei View Hotel instead.
    • Mattress and sofa are too old and collapseSome facilities are too old
    • Breakfast was mediocre.

Good playground resort with river views.

    Big hotel with many tourists

A large resort hotel. Many guests stay with their children and families. Facilities are good. Free parking. Breakfast buffet is awesome.

Some amenities are old. In fact we stayed in the same hotel 20 years ago and obviously it has worn quite a bit. I particularly dislike the hot springs where I need to walk to the next building and no outfit is provided. Also location is far Sapporo city centre but it’s ok for us with a car.

The breakfast and dinner are of good quality and variety.

Room was too overheated and not possible to reduce the temperature.

The staff were friendly and the buffet was excellent.

This is a very tired property and much in need of a major refresh. The carpets are worn and stained, the furniture likewise and the bathrooms are dated.

Loved the location - beautiful view. The hotel was so beautiful and i loved all the shops in the hotel too. The rooms were nice and spacious, and Ryuki’s aufguss was worldclass as always ✨? Loved every minute at Gateaux Kingdom ♥️

Hmm…i would love to have a «minibar» in the room with some drinks and snacks that i could buy. I checked in quite late and it would be lovely to have something to grab when the restaurants were closed ✨

It is generally a nice hotel, and it's unfortunate that the original architectural design turned out to be rather complicated and interior spaces inefficient and not so guest friendly. But they tried to do the best they could... Their onsen spa is large and very nice, but needs some freshening up.

The hotel has been around for quite awhile, and it is really time for an upgrade, especially to the rooms. Room were probably 'great' many years ago, but now tired and very outdated.

Great facilities for families - pool & onsen was great for our kids (2 toddlers & a baby), and extras like a newborn bed next to our table in the restaurant made everything easier.
