    Pros +

    • Easy access from airport. Good Service and excellent food.
    • The hotel was super clean and the ryokan-style room we got had everything we wanted: private onsen with an open window where we got to see the mountains and the snow, spacious room with good amenities, and futons that were prepared by the staff. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely fantastic and enormous. That was the biggest breakfast we ever had. Every staff there were polite and helpful. We got a free shuttle bus from Odori station in central Sapporo to the hotel but on the way back we took the public transport back. Both ways were super convenient. The onsen is natural. I highly recommend this place for a good getaway from the bustling city life of Sapporo.
    • Amazing location, friendly and kind staff, Onsen and guest lounging location were beautiful and relaxing.

Stunning Ryokan with amazing staff, delicious food, relaxing onsen. The lounge and library area are fantastic. We have stayed in many Ryokan and this is one of the best.

    10ReginaPosted on: 6-15-2025

I like the indoor bath, it was really nice,The staff was great and very helpful.I was able to bord the shuttle early and get to enjoy the onsen more~!

We weren't fans of the food, but it's mostly a difference of palat. The rooms were very stuffy.

Awesome ryokan in Jozankei. We took the bus to the location and it was about an hour from Sapporo station and was very crowded. But the overall stay and experience was amazing, warm, and inviting. Would go again!

I had the opportunity to experience the Japanese way of life, and the service was excellent. We encountered a loud Chinese tourist, and the staff thoughtfully offered us a quieter area to enjoy. The Ryokan experience was superb, especially the room with a private onsen, providing a perfect opportunity for intimacy with my spouse.

I wish the receptionist could speak better English, as it was disappointing that they struggled to understand our requests. The free-flow bar was decent, but it would have been better if there were more variety in the bar food, as the selection was quite limited.

    10AllanPosted on: 10-18-2024

The breakfast was excellent. The dinner was excellent. The O furo was excellent. The view from the heya was excellent. The hotel overall experience was excellent.

    9YoranPosted on: 10-3-2024

I really appreciate the staff knowing fish names in English. There were so many things to look forward to like snacks and refreshments. The free open bar at night had many options. There were many onsen options, and the hotel was located at great place to walk and explore the town. Strongly recommend!

The lounge was roomy and the tea served was great. The best were the massage chairs although they were occupied most of the time by other guests. We only got to use them once in our 3-days' stay. Would be great if there's such a chair in our room.Food was also great.

The private onsen could be more roomy.

    8VivianPosted on: 6-21-2024

Nice ambience. Friendly and helpful staff. Lunch and dinner were delicious and well curated by the chief. The staff also took effort to explain the dishes to us in English. The free flow of drinks and snacks were to die for. Overall a good stay and will certainly be back again.

Useful to place more clear signage on onsite parking and whether it is provided complimentary to hotel guests

    10LindaPosted on: 6-21-2024

    Great services

It will be great if the Shuttle bus timetable provides more time options because the location is pretty far and the public transportation is so limited.

    8CatherinePosted on: 6-8-2024

interesting onsen with many varied pools to try.. got outdoor onsen.. inside hotel room as well. Snacks and drinks at the lounge near onsen :) Dinner was nice

Eventually front desk helped us with hotel transfer (retrieve luggage from previous hotel just 5min away). so nothing really. The other hotel seems

    10ChloePosted on: 5-29-2024

Authentic experience with lovely dinner made by a very kind chef. The private onsen in the room was amazing. The public lounge for drinks and food was spectacular

    10AngelaPosted on: 5-24-2024

Everything was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast & dinner were excellent, including the lounge. Free flow sake, beer, juices etc and fingerfood. Onsen too were awesome. Glad we booked this accommodation.

Hotel Suizantei is a beautiful onsen/ryokan. Even though it is an older hotel, it is very well kept. There are several onsen areas for men and women to bath in as well as a private tub on the roof which can be booked for 45-minute sessions. If you are fortunate enough, you can even book a room with it's own onsen tub in the room. Both dinner and breakfast were very well prepared and were very delicious. Before and after each meal, there were beverages and freshly made snacks available in the lounge area. After dinner, they even had beer, sake and other spirits available in the lounge for everyone to enjoy. If we go up to Sapporo again, we will definitely go back to Hotel Suizantei.

Nothing! From the moment we arrived until check-out time, we had a wonderful stay.
