    Pros +

    • Location and 70s vibe.
    • The amount of room space & a great bathroom.
    • Location is near the station and lots of shopping and eateries

    Cons -

    • Dated interior
    • There was no lobby area.
    • Your hotel advertised that the room rate includes breakfast served from 7:00am to 10:00am, but this is misleading. When I came down for breakfast around 9:15am, almost all the food was already gone, when I asked about it, the staff simply said, “You just eat what is left on the tray.” They also mentioned that they had stopped replenishing food after 9:00am. If breakfast is supposed to be available until 10:00am, guests should still have proper choices and not be told to eat only what’s left. This kind of practice feels unfair and dishonest to your guests. The breakfast time should either be stated clearly as ending at 9:00am or food should be replenished until 10:00am as advertised! It’s disappointing to pay for a service that isn’t delivered as promised.

Amazing value. Huge rooms and great facilities

    No bar

    9JosephinePosted on: 11-1-2025

It was very conveniently located near the Namba train station and ALL the shopping areas. The rooms were quite large (large enough to accomadate 4 big "opened" suitcases), very quiet.

    What's not to like?

Very nice rooms and bathrooms. But where timhis hotel really shined was their exceptional customer service!!On the way to Sendai, we realized we had left our nice jackets in the closet back at this hotel and we called first thing when we arrived at Sendai. They confirmed that they found our items and agreed to ship them to our new hotel for us with next day shopping! We received our jackets the next day! 10/10 customer service! We will likely stay here again next time we're in Osaka!

    10MichaelPosted on: 10-18-2025

Quirky in a good way. Older building with updated facilities. Great location. Large rooms. Room with large deck.

    10JosephinePosted on: 10-15-2025

So near Namba station, travelling to and from Kansai airport was easy as well as to and from different parts of Japan. All the famous shopping areas are within walking distance from the hotel and the famous Don Quijote is only a hop skip and a jump away. Best of all, they have this "real" weighing scale in the lobby so luggages won't be overweight!?Shout out to Ms Yokoyama for her super friendly demeanor, efficient service, B'fast room staff for their friendliness and smiling faces!!! PS. Rooms are big. One can open 3 -4 large suitcases all at the same time! Believe me- my husband insisted on bringing 4 large ones with us on this trip?. Spacious bathroom- freedom to be able to move one's limbs without banging them on walls. Comfortable beds. Overall, for a hotel in Japan, Hotel Alps is quiet large in terms of space! Highly recommended!

Location was just perfect. Walk out of the hotel and you're already near famous restaurants, kuromon market, shinsaibashisuji, dotonbori, and train station. This was important because when you travel Japan, you walk all day everyday and it was helpful that I didn't have to walk more just to reach my hotel. We were also able to have midday breaks from walking since the hotel was just there. This is the most spacious room that we had in our stay in Japan. The bathroom was literally the same size of the room of the next hotel room we booked. We had our own massage chair and jacuzzi in the room! Oh my God to be able to rest so well after a full day of walking.

Breakfast was okay but could have been better. Our bed was made up of 2 double beds pushed together so there was an awkward hard line sticking out in the middle, and we always to re-push them since they move away from each other. Construction going on outside so you can hear mild noise from it during the day, but they stop when the sun sets so that's fine.

Unassuming from the outside, but walking distance to a convenience store and lots of cool markets. The hotel is in a really cool area with lots of spots to eat. They held our bags before check in. Our room was HUGE. Giant king bed in a giant room with surround sound speakers, a big TV, mini fridge, kettle, wireless chargers and an awesome bathroom. The shower room had a giant tub with a TV that would easily fit two people and a standalone shower next to it. The toilet was separate. Lots of freebies like bubble bath, folding hairbrush, etc. Cool view of the city. Super easy walk to the train station in the morning to get to the airport. Wish we had more than the one night!

Check in was a little bit confusing at first because there was multiple desks, but not all of them were for check in. We did not have the breakfast, so no comment there. Otherwise a great stay!

Location was good, close to the subway and not too far from JR station. Very central to nightlife and Dotonbori. View was great! Room was large and spacious. Staff was friendly

Not clean. I understand its a love hotel but man was it really gross. Bathtub was full of someone's shavings, and the bed puff underneath the sheet (which was not fitted so it kept slipping) had all kinds of crust and colored stains. I can overlook the dust and smaller cleanliness details but the bed and bath combo was really gross. Breakfast wasn't great but it was included and there was plenty of food nearby.

    9TurgeonPosted on: 9-7-2025

The room was exceptionally large. It was an older property but I would stay there again. The breakfast was the best yet.

Luggage delivery service would be nice.

    6KyliePosted on: 8-15-2025

Large rooms, right in the middle of Namba w Dotombori right next door. Location can’t be beat. Friendly staff who were able to accommodate our early check in time.

Dusty windowsills and fake plants along w ripped and outdated furniture.

    7NinaPosted on: 7-22-2025

Location, free breakfast restaurant with good options, comfortable large room, good size bathroom with tub

    9ChrisPosted on: 7-22-2025

Clean and comfortable hotel in great location in the heart of Namba and with all of the culture and excitement of the Dotonbori District on your doorstep.

    9BryonPosted on: 7-6-2025

Location was great, room size was spacious with lots of space for luggage, the large tub was great for soaking after a long day of walking. Breakfast included was a huge plus.

    7AlmogPosted on: 5-31-2025

The service of the staff really varies between the reps. Some were amazing and some were very rude. The location is great.

The hotel isn’t very welcoming, our first room smelled from cigarettes so we changed the room. The breakfast isn’t that good. They didn’t help us with luggage shipping service so we needed to find a solution elsewhere. There’s no laundry in the hotel.

Excellent Hotel; very nice and friendly personnel; nice location, and unbelievable room. Very happy.

    7MichaelPosted on: 5-22-2025

Great location, good Japanese/western breakfast, spacious room, good WiFi, good air conditioning. There was a karaoke machine in the room but I didn’t try it.

Bed had a pad which was too small, no top sheet, comforter too small to fully cover the bed leaving my feet and right side of my body uncovered.

Location and staff who tried to safe impression from hotel

Breakfast was not tasty and poor. Furniture was old, bad smell, no suite cases delivery. Owner of hotel should inform travelers that it’s hotel for short sex dating. No one even word in info.
