Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit Thonglor Bangkok

Tucked in a relatively quiet area in Thonglor with several dining options from street food, food chains, casual to high end. Staff are super warm and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean.

1. The free tuktuk service was great but you need to call or contact the driver in Line app which is a little tricky especially if you don’t want to install the app or don’t have a SIM that supports local phone calls. 2. The bathroom design is a little disappointing at least in the room I was given on the 5th floor. The shower area (bathtub) had two spaces on either side where water collects while showering standing up. The water is stuck on one side and flows freely on the other side flooding the floor.

After the first night I got a letter under my door stating that I had stained the linens and had to pay 2000THB. I had realized that I stained the pillow with my vegan colored hair conditioner...however I know that the stain will come out as I've done it with my own linens. It seems they were too lazy or angry they didn't bother to try getting the stain out and just charge me a ridiculous amount of money for cheap sheets. After this incident I felt uncomfortable to even lie on my own bed in my room...I wanted to leave altogether. I confront the staff and they were very defensive and rude at first until I made my case and they wanted to discount to 1000THB. I said absolutely not. I then told them I wanted to leave and they dropped the charges. After that they were rude to me and I felt uncomfortable the entire time

The unit was spotless and well-maintained, which made the stay very comfortable. The bed was cozy and perfect for a good night’s rest, and the staff were always helpful and kind whenever we needed assistance. The neighborhood felt safe and peaceful, allowing us to relax without any worries. We also really appreciated the Japanese-inspired vibe of the place, it added a unique charm and made the atmosphere feel calm and welcoming. Overall, it’s a great choice for anyone looking for a clean, quiet, and pleasant stay.

The location is a bit far from the BTS. They do provide a tuk-tuk service from 7 AM to 7 PM, but after that, you’ll need to walk about 17–20 minutes, which can feel quite long after a day out in Bangkok. The AC in the unit was also very loud, making a glitching sound every 30 minutes, it might need maintenance. The lighting in the room felt dim, possibly due to energy-saving measures. Breakfast had very limited choices, and I also noticed some bowls with cracks and chips being used for serving food, which didn’t feel very safe. In our old beliefs, using cracked or chipped bowls is considered a bad omen, as it can bring bad luck.

Please fix the water problem, while taking shower suddenly it gets so hot , this problem been there for more than a year.

Oversized rooms with kitchen and very comfortable beds. The staff is always very friendly and courteous.The location is great adjacent to an excellent grocery store and many restaurant options.

We arrived at the Hotel aground 14:30 and our room was not ready.

The flat had a very nice layout. Well furnished. Calm. Good housekeeping.

The AC made too much noise. The lights in the cupboards were not switching off properly. The breakfast was not very good. The towels were old and worn.

Clean spacious rooms. Free shuttle to the BTS, which saved a lot of time.

Quiet location in the middle of Thong Lor, easy to get to, lots of restaurants and supermarket nearby. Helpful and kind staff. Comfortable spacy rooms, good mattress and amenities. Lovely rooftop to chill rather than party.

Nice staff. Pool area small but nice and very quiet. Apartment nice. No outside space. Location amazing.

Sometimes the staff were a little bit slowly to come with the things we asked for. It depends who of the staff we asked.

We stayed 1 night and were charged thb 2,000 for smoking on the balcony. We suspected the hotel was not quite right. No quests, very shady staff. Very sad.

- the pool area and rooms felt a bit old, some rust in some areas - the location is not ideal for visiting the big sites such as the grand palaces and Wat Arun, but with the tuk tuk service to the BTS it is manageable - we did not book it, but the breakfast did not look too good

Couldn’t find washing liquid / sponge etc to wash the couple of dishes we used - would have been nice to have some readily available. Tiny point though…
