    • Location is amazingRoof top bar is unique Staff are polite and decent Wat Arun (Sunset temple) is magical

    Cons -

    • The outside area felt somewhat sketchy, but I was told before we left that it is near the Kings Palace which makes it a super safe area. The area just smelled a bit horrific outside. Also we paid for a balcony but it was a window with a wood platform.
    • Old facilities Noisy a bit Breakfast is not bad but not many options
    • The stairs, lift would of been ideal but wasn’t a problem, that’s just me being lazy ?

    Surrounding view and bed quality

    Pretty noisy

The views of the river, Wat Pho and Wat Arun were nice. Eagle Nezt, their rooftop bar, is also nice. Close to Sanam Chai MRT station.

For the cost, the quality was far below expectations. The lampshade was cracking and falling apart, the grout on the floor of the washroom was chalky from regrouting. There was a bit of noise as well, from customers of the rooftop bar.The breakfast was almost continental and minimal. Out of the 4 days, I only ate breakfast once, and it was disappointing. The pancakes were undercooked and raw. The rest of breakfast was limited: boiled rice, fried rice, American breakfast, or pancakes. While the staff were very helpful, they are not available in the evening. There is no pharmacy nearby.

Breakfast was OK but restricted selection of either Asian or American Breakfast and a reasonable selection of juices, breads, coffee etc. The restaurant is very popular during the day end evening and the food is very good. Staff were very nice and helpful. Ideal location for Grand Palace and Wat Pho etc.

Small boutique hotel located up a very quiet street. Looks pretty dull from outside but inside is actually very nice and quaint. It has 5 floors up a narrow staircase and no lift, so no use for people with certain disabilities. It also has a roof bar with spectacular views of Wat Arun and this is its main feature. The bar is always very busy but the bar toilets are located beside the bedrooms on the top floor, so it's very noisy in the evenings until about midnight. Bar prices are high but worth the view, hence there is a lot of traffic up and down the stairs as people come for the view have a drink and then leave again.

the location the view was worth the money

the price of food and drink very expensive compared to other areas but it’s the area your paying for

    9RachaelPosted on: 5-28-2023

The view of this accommodation is exactly how it is made out in the pictures. It's a beautiful and unique experience. The accommodation itself is exactly as made out in the pictures. Very spacious rooms. Clean and tidy. Very cool and comfortable.

    location and staff

Minor issue for us but interior would benefit from a repainting.Rooftop bar expensive.

    8Eurogirl63Posted on: 4-21-2023

The view is breathtaking! Also, the location is within walking distance (10 min or less) from several temples and other sights.

This hotel does NOT have an elevator - hauling luggage up and down the stairs is difficult. We were there during the hottest time of year so the stairs climbing was not fun. Also, being on the riverfront sounds romantic, but it is very polluted and garbage floating around. This is not the hotel's fault but one should be aware that the river is far from pristine.

    6CarlosPosted on: 4-19-2023

Rooftop and views to both Wat Arun and Wat Pho from both sides of the rooftop, location, friendly stuff, breakfast

You need to make sure that you book the premium room to have river view and towards Wat Arun. The standard rooms are nice, view to the street with Wat Pho view, but not amazing since hotel is in the end of the alley. Rooms are comfy but very dated, as well as all the facilities in the hotel.

Lovely little hotel in a fabulous location. Nice bathroom, ,great air conditioning, & friendly staff

    Poor

I had to cancel - and even though I wrote saying I’d like to stay again as my son now works in Bangkok and I’ll be coming a lot, I had no reply whatsoever.I feel that as they got notice and the full amount of money due, they could at least have answered me…..

    8KarenPosted on: 4-7-2023

Loved seeing the Wat Arun from my hotel window. The staff are wonderful.

The bed was very hard. The restaurant menu has very few options for vegetarians.

    10JoanaPosted on: 3-19-2023

the view is absolutely amazing, and the balconies are really private. bed is super super comfortable, as the pillows. the room is nice, with hot water in the shower, bathrobes, spacious. it’s very very very nice. the breakfast is great!! the eggs are the best I had. I have only good things to say about it and will stay here again. it might seem in a far location and in the middle of some alleys which might be a bit weird at night, but don’t worry. it’s very very easy to get to touristic locations as you have two piers right next to it as well as the MTR station (rajinee). it’s very well located, really.

I loved it. maybe the price could be a little lower. I don’t mind, but keep in mind is a very very busy restaurant also, so there’s stairs to walk up to the rooms that might be not suitable for elders/children. the entrance is shared with the restaurant and there’s always a LOT of people. we didn’t mind at all though.

    10KayankitPosted on: 3-18-2023

The location is outstanding with Wat Pho across the street, the Grand Palace down the block, the MRT underground rail a couple blocks away & the pier to cross Bangkok's main river to Wat Arun. The room was serenely comfortable, but I didn't get much sleep as I was so taken in by the view from my balcony of the boats passing by & the majesty of Wat Arun across the Chao Praya River.Although I did visit the rooftop bar which offered a great view, I chose to spend most of my time on my room's balcony.Sala Arun left a lasting impression & has become a go-to place for rejuvenation of peace & tranquility within my being. The restaurant on the main floor is the stage to the majesty of Wat Arun. The food was delicious & the staff excellent. This was a great find & a keeper for the future.

The lighting in the bathroom was a little on the dark side, but to be honest, it played off the wood so well that it almost transports you back in time.I simply love Sala Arun & will return with a large group of friends to experience the zen.

    7SusanPosted on: 3-5-2023

Breakfast was good with a good choice of foods, the location by the river was superb with a fantastic view of the Wat on the opposite bank. Easy to get to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho and a good choice of cafes and restaurants nearby.

The staff were efficient but we felt they paid more attention to the diners coming to the restaurant than the people actually staying at the hotel.

    8RitaPosted on: 2-9-2023

The views were spectacular and the pillows were soft and comfortable.

The mattress was very very firm. No give at all really, my back hurt every morning. Also, the staff and booking.com did not inform us that we had a free breakfast, so we missed out on that.

    9KimPosted on: 2-8-2023

Fantastic variety veiw of Arun is perfect. It changes 24hrs and each view was gorgeous

Ants were alot at the balcony. But its ok when you check the door locking and do not leave the food in the room
