- Beautiful hotel on the river
- This is a very beautiful, unique and historic property that is accessible only by boat, which is on-call at all times and takes just a few minutes to cross the river. Our room was charming, comfortable and a little quirky (handheld shower in the open bathtub). The staff is great, the grounds are lovely and well maintained, and the river view is wonderful. The breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Praya Palazzo was a great place to decompress when we arrived in busy Bangkok.
- Peem was amazing and so very helpful. Joe is an exceptional teacher and chief! This is a beautiful refuge for rest and relaxation as you make your way around Bangkok.
Cons -
- Overwhelming smell of sewer in the middle of first night. Had to change room. Once AC turned on with second room, sewer smell also, so needed to turn off AC on Aug night in Bangkok! Very tired property. Needs TLC and proper cleaning.
- The constant pop music from the pool bar made an otherwise ideal pool experience less dreamy. The music and PA announcements from the dinner boats go late, but that's just a hazard of being on the river. I think earplugs were provided in the room.
- I made a mistake with my dates and Booking would not refund. I realized this within 24 hours of booking. Seems like this could have been honored. People make mistakes, you know.

Beautiful property , can only get to property via there own private boat which was fantastic but if you arrive via taxi on hotel side have to walk down alleys .
No shower facilities , no iron in room, bar at pool was a bit of a let down, could be better as nothing was set out drinks wise just stacked boxes . And had to wait for a while before a member of staff served us drinks .
The hotel was a bit of a hassle to get to. It also seemed eerily empty. There was no phone in the room or room service which was a bummer. The cleaning person didn’t check in on the 2nd night so we ran out of TP and water. If you want to enjoy the hotel, I’d say stay one night max. I wouldn’t go back to stay there again.
The staff were impeccable. The food was outstanding, and the cocktails at happy hour(s) were first rate. The grounds are lovely, and the private boat to take you across the river was great. We had an early departure, so they packed us breakfast to take with us, which was really sweet.
The beds are hard. Rock hard. There should be CLEAR information on how to get to the hotel. There is NO road access. Go to Pier 13, call the hotel (it's directly opposite the pier), and they will send the boat over to collect you.
It was the second time we stayed at Praya Palazzo and we were not disappointed. The hotel is an oasis with a historical twist in the busy city of Bangkok. The pool is amazing. The staff is always nice and helpful. The restaurant is really good! We will return :)
The food was excellent and the pool is phenomenal. It was so magical to whisk in and out of the hotel in a private boat.
I could swear that the “mattress” was actually a box spring. It had zero give when you lay down on it and actually hurt my hips. It was like sleeping on a wiggly board. I had to use the foam pad from the day bed to make it bearable for me.
Super comfy colonial style hotel with lovely rooms, first bath on our travels, great pool and a gorgeous dining room with a fabulous breakfast. would like to have eaten in the restaurant but we were only there for one night so no time. Loved the private hotel shuttle boat - made it really fun crossing the river to the pier and all the action on the otherside. staff were super lovely and let us use the pool in the afternoon and shower there well after checkout as we were flying home that evening.
Took us a while to find the hotel so would have liked better instructions on nearest station as we were coming by train from the airport. also they said access was only by boat but you can access it from the otherside although we didnt do that in the end.
Amazing venue - almost out of a novel. You cannot access it easily by road so you have to call their 24/24 boat for a pick - which felt like magic. This was the discovery of this trip to Bangkok
-Could be wonderful but needs an injection of funds-Food was excellent-Area around hotel is well worth a look
-Stayed for one night and three different staff almost begged us to post a review on Tripadvisor-Drinks are crazy expensive-Room was run down-Public areas like library were not open-Not cheap for what you get
Location Staff and ambiance are first class. It’s quirky but in a really charming way
Our room was a little small due to the large twin beds. Maybe get smaller bed frames
The restaurant was delicious, the building is beautiful and all of the staff are excellent
It is difficult to get to, but the staff are more than happy to help you find your way to and from the hotel
The breakfast was great. A good selection and well presented. Also the restaurant was amazing, loved it. Enjoyed relaxing by the pool. The neighbourhood was wonderfully quiet and the water ferry a great asset.
Found the receptionist on the day we arrived not overly helpful, I had to carry two large bags up to my room and he didn't explain anything about the accomodation or services. Also the floors from the adjoining room creaked loudly whenever someone walked on them and they were beside our bed.
The buildings, staff and food
It is a little isolated
A wonderful outstanding historical character building on the river. Easy to access the surrounding areas with their private boat and wharf.
The hospitality at check-in is superb, welcoming us from the parking lot in the temple. The room is classic but a bit lower than the expectation. At this price, we hope they can do better job on interier renovation. The arrangement to see the royal barge procession was great as one of the best spot to witness the event from the beginning. The hotel boat service 24/7 is super convenient to support the guest exploring Kao San road side.
Unfortunately, we lost a wedding ring near the bath tub. The staff on the call/chat couldn't help much as we expected. Well aware that we shouldn't complain as it also was our fault.
We love this hotel - it is our second time there . The staff are lovely and the location is amazing xx
Praya Palazzo is a wonderful oasis in the heart of Bangkok. The staff were so friendly and thoughtful and took very good care of us. Sitting in the garden and watching the river and the boats was a delight and so peaceful after busy days sightseeing in the city. We will certainly stay there again when we return to Bangkok.
