- Very friendly staff
- Lobby and dining are excellent with great customer service.
Cons -
- The lasagna and lobster bisque for room service did not taste good at all. Lasagna should have a red tomato sauce..
- Too busy staff not able to listen or accommodate customers request or questions. No flexibility. No or must be paid for or not included
- We were on the 4th floor overlooking the roof on the city side. We have stayed here several times in the past and always had great rooms. This room was in need of some major updating. Carpet and furniture were soiled and the bathroom needs some attn.

The standard room is spacious with a panoramic view of Manila Bay with it's nice sunset...
Like most 5 star hotels, the in-house food fare is less than desirable with overpriced dishes that do not look savory with undersized portions
Name and location
We were informed upon check-in the gym which was essential in choosing the hotel was not available for the duration of our 5-day stay!
The Manila Hotel really cares for their guests. I got sick, Nurse Arnel did an assessment on me and got me a doctor. That made a big difference as I was able to go onto our next vacation in the province of Palawan.
Very Hospitable and courteous staff.
We arrived early from Vigan, and they did not let us into our hotel room earlier than scheduled check-in without paying the extra "check-in" fees! So me and my husband stayed in the lobby for 3hours, and yet there were not enough staff to check us in!
Luv the hand crafted features when you first walk in and elegance of over all hotel at night when lights are on. The room were and are still very tidy and clean. I was there in 2019 and had my fiancé and her son stay there this last week and they loved it
Customer service was excellent

The historical quality.
The elevator got stuck.
The dinner and breakfast buffet were fabulous!
Everything!
Breakfast choices were varied. Food was good. Hotel room had comfortable bed and was roomy.
The room was spacious and elegant. The check-in staff were excellent.
The Cafe Ilang Ilang was a big disappointment. The food quality, selection and presentation were worse than before. The restaurant staff wandered aimlessly and seemed unsure of how to serve customers. Considering the premium price it charges, the experience is third rate and ordinary. Not worth recommending or returning to.
From the moment I arrived, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff made me feel truly welcome. A special shoutout to Angel at reception she went above and beyond to help me extend my stay by an extra day and was incredibly supportive with all my requests. Her kindness and professionalism made everything feel effortless, and I genuinely felt cared for throughout my visit. And the sunset views from our room? Absolutely unforgettable. Watching the sun dip below Manila Bay was the perfect way to end each day.
MANILA HOTEL SPA SERVICE - considering the price of the massage, I expected something special but it turned out to be quite underwhelming. The amenities and the spa room looked good, but we didn’t even get to use them. After paying, we went straight to the massage room. They asked if we wanted to shower before the massage, but we declined since we had just taken a bath. The therapist came in and immediately asked us to lie down. We expected at least a simple foot wash before starting, but nothing was offered. We booked the 90-minute signature massage, which was supposed to be a combination of shiatsu and Swedish, but it felt almost entirely Swedish. I wasn’t satisfied at all the therapist seemed to be rushing through the routine and didn’t seem to care about the client experience. When I asked for an extra towel because it was a bit cold, she hesitated before giving me one and didn’t even bother to cover my feet, unlike in other spas I’ve visited. After the massage, they didn’t offer a hot towel, tea, or even water. To add to that, the lights were left on during the entire session, which made it even less relaxing.Overall, the experience felt like a complete waste of money.
We stayed at The Manila Hotel for three days in the Veranda Suite. It’s an iconic and historic landmark, and you can definitely feel its old-world charm but also its age. The suite was very spacious, though it had a musky, slightly moldy smell that made it feel a bit dated. I kind of expected it, but it’s still not something I enjoyed. The hotel itself feels like a grand event venue, during our stay, there were events happening left and right, which made the place lively but also took away from the quiet, historic beauty I was hoping to experience. It was a big turn off. On the plus side, I love the location, it’s close to the National Museums, Luneta Park, and other cultural landmarks, which makes it convenient for sightseeing. Overall, I’m glad we stayed just for a short visit.
Excellent breakfast . The Ilang Ilang staff are very nice and accommodating.

Breakfast buffet was awesome. Shower in the room was superb, but the room itself is a bit outdated, but not bad. In-house bars and resto was great as well but a bit pricey.
Location and the traffic going there is really bad.
