Maniumpathy Hotel

An absolutely stunning old residence that has been converted into a 7 room hotel. I believe all of the rooms are facing the courtyard and pool. We only stayed one night but the staff, accommodation and food was top notch.

There are mosquitoes. This was the only place after travelling for 2 weeks in Sri Lanka that we encountered them. The staff put a coilIn the outdoor bathroom, but they still managed to get into the room. Not the fault of the hotel, just nature.

Location was good for getting to the airport for a morning flight without staying very close to the airport. Staff were lovely.

From the moment you drive into the column flanked driveway to the warm welcome of the amazing staff, the hotel exudes warmth and comfort. Beautiful comfy rooms, great food, charming pool and garden and perfect location. My fave place in Colombo. Exceptional.

Honestly nothing I can think of

Beautifully decorated, delicious breakfast and dinner and very welcoming staff. We stayed 1 night and it was perfect.

Everything was great

We spent one night in this beautiful hotel located in the Diplomatic district of Colombo. The building is an old colonial house nicely renovated with 7 spacious rooms with a beautiful decoration. The staff is absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. The bed was divine, and the bathroom was very large with a tub and a shower. The pool is slightly small, but it is surrounded by a beautiful garden with the restaurant’s terrace. The breakfast was very good, we haven’t tried their lunch and dinner but we bet they are excellent too! We had an amazing massage at the spa, we highly recommend it too!

Gorgeous colonial building with a modern restoration to make the loveliest luxurious hotel. The layout is perfect, the rooms very generous and the people we met working there are lovely! Especially given our awful check in time of midnight.

Gorgeous property! You feel like you have arrived home. The food, ambience, service were all wonderful!

My room was great, but it was at the front of the hotel and we found we could hear the street noise.

Tremendously warm welcome,; service throughout by the staff who clearly worked well together as a team; oasis of calm; beautiful historic property with period furnishings; room opened directly onto pool area; outdoor bathroom; excellent breakfast including very good coffee; lunch dishes were innovative, beautifully presented and delicious. Free of charge drinks, fruit /cake plates and crisps. Pool.

Just an observation: the booking.com photo of the entrance would lead one to believe the hotel were set in large gardens / at the end of a drive which is not the case. That said, all other photos were completely representative of the beautiful high end boutique style hotel.

We arrived ridiculously early and all the staff made us so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We had an upstairs bedroom overlooking the courtyard which was much prettier and more comfortable than the photos might suggest. It was very spacious and quiet. We will stay here again the next time we are in Colombo.

The service was totally "old school". Lovely staff and the facilities were great.

Everything was great. The only small thing maybe was Our room had a bit of a damp smell but so minor.

An exquisite oasis tucked away in the bustling city of Colombo. So happy we stayed here and not a big soulless hotel. And massage was literally the best I have ever had and very reasonable.

The architecture, food, hospitality and the ambience.

Maybe the property should keep some souvenirs for the guests to part with. Also keep mosquito sprays instead of burning coils.

Architecture and decor. It was relaxing and quiet. Very friendly staff. And the beds were very comfortable!

Noise travels if there are people eating late in the courtyard but generally its good.

I only stayed here one night before heading home,but I wish I could have stayed longer! Absolutely gorgeous interiors, beautifully decorated rooms and the staff were so kind and attentive, they really went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable. The food was fantastic, and the menu had something for everyone, I especially enjoyed the Sri Lankan breakfast in the morning.

This suites-only gracious heritage boutique hotel is centrally located in the affluent Cinnamon Gardens area of Colombo. Originally an early 1800s traditional home for a wealthy family it is designed around a beautiful courtyard. Maniumpathy is immaculate in every sense; a heritage delight and architecturally rich, the professional friendly staff always on hand to assist, beautifully appointed luxurious rooms, and a very talented chef who offers amazing local cuisine (our traditional breakfast of hoppers with Seer fish curry was a ‘flavour bomb’ according to our daughter). I highly recommend staying at the glorious Maniumpathy Hotel it surpassed every expectation.

Having to leave

The staff is extremely professional and friendly always making us feel as if we are home. The property is beautiful and super well located. We’ll be back for sure ?
