Cleanness, smell in the room, bed linen smelling like cold tabacco, unwrapped toes, destroyed wall in the bathroom, filthy furniture...

Staff friendly and obliging. Hotel employee from Bakery and hotel employee from Restaurant we’re extremely helpful and deserve recognition. Bed was extremely comfortable and the best pillows!

Room needs refurbishing needs colour bit drab. Problems with safe from day one. Ultimately it was removed.

Room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was buffet and was amazing.

nada vis-a-vis hotel but do take note that the google and apple maps do not work in Sri Lanka so was a little troublesome to walk to places without the aid of technology. Do be old school and carry a physical map:)

I have stayed there earlier this year. It was really amazing, the service was great, staff were diligent. This time it was really bad. They don’t seem to be able to handle a lot of guests at the same time. The location is great though.

They were extremely slow to provide any service. We booked 5 rooms. The walls were crusty, one of the rooms had a faulty bathroom door. Someone got locked in and the hotel staff couldn’t do anything about it. We had to break the door. They said they’d provide compensation but they didn’t. They served unripened stale food in the breakfast buffet. Not recommending them anymore. I was embarrassed in front of my family for their horrible service.

Great facilities as expected from a name brand hotel, the staff is polite and the location is very central to everything. The shower water pressure is a great bonus.

If I really had to nitpick, I would say the carpet furnishings in the lobby are showing their age.

The family room was a great size for the three of us. The hotel is located in the tourist area making it easy to get around.

The hotel ia tired and needs refurbishment to justify the rates charged. They are competing with numerous other hotels in the area which are possibly better value.

We both liked the locationvery close to the CBD and Galle Face

Food. almost same items every day. i.e. buffet breakfast.

We stayed for a night, for a night it was fine.

The hotel system is hacked. I received a whatsapp message asking to confirm my creditcard details. They send an external link. I messaged booking.com and they confirmed that it was a scam. It is over a week since I check-out and there is still a reservation on my creditcard for the stay, and the same amount has already been deducted from my creditcard. It smelled like people smoked in our non-smoking room.

Rooms are OK, but not spotlessly clean. Nice pool and very spacious gym.

Hotel is 300 meters from the beach, buffet was excellent!! Train station near the beach and was walking distance. Spacious rooms!! Checkin was too quick, friendly staff. Sure will visit again.

Staff and location

Not worth the price! It can be rated as an average 3 star hotel, not the 4 star. Basic rooms and facilities. Food options are very limited.

Staff seemed rushed to chanrge for everything, but slow to offer simple services, such as an ash tray...when asked multiple times to bri g to the room, since it was a smoking room. Why was thecroom not equipped?. I added breakfast the next morning, and thought it could be added to my room. Instead of explaining the policy; that you have to pay immediately after ...which is not common for a hotel of this caliber...the main cashier/ staff person literally yelled at me to return and pay...guests turned to look,like I was trying skip on my bill...I was going to my room. I was under the impression that i could have paid at checkout. Instead, I had to stand there, wait for the staff to bill me, people were still staring at me..very uncalled for and embarrassing. I told the staff,that this policy needs to be posted, or explained to guests if they don't add breakfast during check-in. I had no problpaying for my meal...but to be chased and forced to pay immediately is crazy. I told the cashier that the bill should have been printed and brought to me immediately upon finishing if this is their policy. Breakfast is a buffet, so there are not any add ons thstvthey waiting for. I had the same experience for room service the night before on my soda and juice order. The staff said no, thstvroom service is done by immediate pay. I found this odd, as every large hotel I've previously stayed at in Sri Lanka, doesn't require immediate payment.

Great hotel near the water. Great little bakery at the front. Very comfortable beds.

Pool area was not as nice as the pics but still fine.

Unprofessional staff and didnt treat us fair and charging us more money and behaving poorly with out family. Made us late for our trip by causing a scene which was caused by their own lack of responsibility and error. Charged us twice as they made us mistake while updating their system and werent accepting their own fault.

The hotel was nice, albeit a bit old which was noticeable in the rooms. The lobby was spacious with plenty of facilities and we appreciated being able to use these after we’d checked out of our room before heading to the airport. Great location and helpful staff too.

Location is good - very close to Colombo's high rise Breakfast is ok!

- mildew in room (and bathrooms, especially the ceilings). - once you clime to upper floors the smell of mold an mildew is very overwhelming. - as this building is very old, fuses might pop!!! :))) it happened 2 times for me - the second time took out the TV :)))) - they had to change it. - access cards to rooms "forget" their programming - this leads to: as guest expect to talk a lot with the hotel reps :))))

Its a great property with the best access. Loved the breakfast spread and the hospitality. Would definitely recommend anyone traveling with kids/ vegetarians as its one of the most convenient options available.Its quite reasonably priced and has the feel of a 5 star for sure.

Good sized room and well appointed. Bed a bit hard for European standards but acceptable. Dinner buffet is good and very nice pool. Security at the front door is a joke, and should be dispensed with. It's nothing more than a sham and serves no purpose. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
