Gorgeous & tranquil property with warm & welcoming hosts and staff. A reprieve in the hustle of Colombo. Breakfast was delightful. It was lovely to have a nice glass of French wine after months in Sri Lanka without that option - and by the pool no less. Would visit again in a heartbeat!
I was there on a Friday night & there was loud music coming from next door (a club I imagine), it was loud in the room until 12AM or so - but the bed was so comfortable I fell asleep easily anyways. Also had some trouble with PickMe & Uber getting to the entrance for some reason, the geo location was by the street so had to keep walking down the alley for pickup (minor inconvenience).
A very nice, clean and quiet French hotel in the heart of Colombo. The staff are very friendly and the hotel owner is very welcoming.If we hadn't already booked our flight, we would have loved to extend our stay. Highly recommended!

Disclaimer: it was a very short stay for us for 1 night only. We liked the colonial era authentic and true style of the place and the staff were friendly from the limited interactions we had with them. The in-house restaurant was very French-cuisine focused and it shuts down at around 10PM (hotel was upfront about this). It's a decent place if you intend to go out and about in Colombo.
The room, even though upgraded, only had one single couch, which wasn't very comfortable. The only place to sit was the bed, which is covered by the mosquito net, limiting the overall comfort levels. The room is very good if you're spending the best portion of the day outside, but not the best if you're spending a long time inside.
Grand tasteful accommodation in the heart of Colombo but perfectly quiet and peaceful, where the sound of traffic is non existent and replaced by bird song. Huge rooms, great pool, terrific food. A big thanks to Christoph, Chamara and all the staff, (even the pool attendant) for such great smiles, and friendly and courteous service.
We loved how quiet it was and the aesthetic of the place and the room was quite spacious and we loved staying here
