Sofia Colombo City Hotel

It is a newer hotel and it feels fresh and exciting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I also loved the ocean views.

The hotel location is not walking distance too many of the tourist sites. But a short tuk tuk ride does get you there

Stayed for 2 wks, Room/bathroom was a decent size but its overpriced, nice view and 1 of the house floor staff, Dilip was the true staff highlight, he was amazing!! Good size workout room and the rooftop pool is great. In room dining was ok. Wifi is trash! The water provided daily was a nice amenity.

Room smelled strongly like vinegar, I believe its the chemicals used for bugs, wifi was garbage. Restaurant staff on the 10th floor were not helpful. Check in guy was clueless....its a bit strange that there is an attendant in the workout room but he was fairly nice. Overall though, its overpriced by ALOT.

The rooftop pool was great as was the gym. The food was excellent as well. Booking with booking.com we received 10% of food and drink which was great. We had a midnight flight home, we were able to store our bags, use the facilities, have a shower and change before leaving for the airport.

There wasn't a bar near the pool. You had to go down a level to order a drink. They would bring up your beers, then forget the limes/or opener and be up and down a bit. That was the only improvement factor.

We were welcomed by the most friendly staff, Ms Sanjeewani & Ms Dinithi. They were very helpful throughout our stay. We have to make a special mention of Mr. Dilip from Housekeeping, who is simply amazing and hard-working. Our room was always ready on time and very clean. He took special care in decorating the bed, which our daughter really loved. Our stay at Sofia in general was good. The hotel is located in the center of most attractions.

The wakeup call was 45 minutes late. The Ladies at the front desk arranged for us to have a packed breakfast because we were going very early in the morning, but we were not given any.

Very courteous staff, quiet AC, excellent choice of food at buffet, roof pool. Kalpana was extremely helpful in accommodating our large group with special dietary need at the New Year Buffet.

Lift waiting times

The hotel was well-located and had a superb terrace. Staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable.

The check-in process could be faster and more efficient- it took a very long time to get our room keys, with no real reason why it should take so long.

The pool was good

We asked to clean the room later, but they did not do so,Although we stayed for 2 nights.

The hotel is very nice and feels quite luxurious.The room was clean, well maintained, and comfortable, and the rooftop pool was beautiful

What I didn’t like was that the reception is on the top floor, which was not very convenient.The reception staff were often busy and not very efficient, and both the check-in process and any time I approached them for help, a question, or a request, it took a long time.I think the overall service could be improved to be faster and more organized, which would greatly improve the guest experience

The Manager “ I don’t remember her name she upgraded our room to a sea facing room , the room is just superb , what a view !! , besides , the location is also very good , many boutiques are nearby for shopping , the bufe dinner , availability of Sisha!!

Room is little small

It’s a comfortable, clean, and safe hotel in the city center. The service is excellent—from the front desk staff to the housekeeping team. The room is fully equipped with everything you need, modern, and it’s easy to sleep soundly and feel at ease.

Location and view from the room were nice .

When we turned on the A/C, there was a clear smell of mold from there. We had it on during the night our first night and had to turn it off the second night in order to get some proper sleep. Additionally the bed was very uncomfortable.
