Pegasus Reef - A Beach Resort in Colombo

Hotel was booked for events all the time. Some rooms are in very bad shape. Had to complain several times. Bad smells.

The customer service was very disappointing. I requested an iron and had to wait over an hour to receive it. I called the reception three separate times, but it still didn’t arrive. Eventually, I had to step out of my room, meet a housekeeper in the corridor, and ask him directly for the iron.Later, I requested a weighing scale and faced the same issue. I had to call twice, and it only arrived after about 30 minutes.For a resort of this standard, the response time and coordination were far below expectations. Basic service requests should be handled much more efficiently.

All staff go above & beyond to help you, the travel team are amazing. The drivers appointed by the hotel are great very knowledgeable and professional they can take you out on a tour to suit what you want to do even at short notice & have great ideas or places to take you. We enjoyed drinks & food in the fishery & one staff member in particular in the reception area (sorry I don't know her name, fair hair & glasses) was exceptional with advice helping me with my trip & questions and made time for me, Thank you we enjoyed our stay

Excellent value hands down! This is a beachfront property with a wonderful beach! Most rooms will not have an ocean view since the property is located a bit inland and the trees would block the direct ocean view. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and adequately spacious. The bathrooms were clean as well. The food was delicious and the highlight is the very friendly staff! They will go out of their way to help you and feel welcome!

Although the rooms were great, the hotel buildings showed obvious signs of dated infrastructure! Peeling off paint even in the hotel lobby will put off some guests. The landscaping also needs substantial makeover.

Buffet was wonderful, swimming pool, clean and beautiful beach , gym and everything ❤️

Restaurant staff - need to be attentive. They are selective in their attention Pool needs to be maintained. The grooves are empty and sharp. Two of my kids got minor cuts and refused to use the pool

Maheema, the responsible of guest relations is awesome. She tried to help us in everything we needed. Made our things easier.

The temperature in the gymnasium is really cold. We worked out almost freezing.

It’s a lot older than expected? The hallways where dirty rooms where ok. I booked 3 queen and and got 1 king and a single bed

The resort is very beautiful, it has a perfect sunset view. Staff were very nice and hospitable. They even have the halal food options and the taste of food was unmatchable.

The resort is at 40 minutes drive from the airport but the grab and uber charges reasonable amount to get you there and these apps work 24/7 if you want to go anywhere.

They hosted a loud disruptive party during the day which prevented us from enjoying the facilities and made us escape.

Very nice place to spend some good times, a beautiful place to enjoy serene vacation. Most of the staff were very cordial, pleasant and helpful, especially Customer Relations Manager Ms Madhu. She was more than willing to help at all times.Very good buffet breakfast with lots of variety to meet the needs of any nationality

At times found some issues with cleaning but upon pointing it out, staff did immediate rectification.

Although i paid for the room with breakfast they didnt provide breakfast

they didn't abide by the booking, i had a date change but wanted the room with breakfast. they charged me the same amount as the original amount but did not provide the breakfast

Loved the stay. The food was really good, normally hotel food is a gamble. The accommodation was clean. The bellmen and front desk staff were so lovely. The only names I remember are Diuni and Asher- but there was another gentleman who helped me out who was very kind too. Great staff

The Pegasus Reef Hotel got better and better as one went deeper inside. We reached in the late evening and went directly to dinner in the restaurant outside. As soon as we stepped outside, we could hear Billy Ray Cyrus' Achy Breaky Heart being sung by a gentleman really really beautifully. We walked down the pathway listening to the beautiful singing looking at the sea ahead of us . It looked like most of the people had gone to the Buffet restaurant inside because only we were there for dinner. We enjoyed selecting our fish and the Manager and the Chefs were kind enough to make dishes for us which were not on the menu. While we waited for the food to be cooked we enjoyed the cool sea breeze and the beautiful singing of the young lady along with the gentleman's. I very badly wanted him to sing Billy Ray's song again but he sang other great songs . Food was very good and we enjoyed talking to the restaurant staff.After dinner we checked into our 3 rooms. I initially was pretty unhappy thinking we were being given some basement room. It was only in the morning daylight when I moved the curtains aside that I realized that we were in the ground floor rooms and could just walk out of our rooms and have tea sitting on the chairs provided outside or even just walk to the sea a little ahead. Having the sea at one's backyard can't be topped : ) I hope that in future all this is pointed out to the guests when they check in at night time. All the trees added to the beauty outside. My brother went for a morning walk outside the hotel and saw a crocodile where fishing boats were moored in the inlet.Breakfast was an extensive buffet with live counters for eggs, hoppers and roti. Other than the many other dishes and cut fruit and juices were provided.The Pegasus Reef was an excellent introduction to our Sri Lanka trip. The staff was very helpful. All I can say is that we should have stayed for at least 2 nights.

I expected a twin bed in the triple room for my daughter but it was a sofa bed instead. Comfortable enough.
