Paradise Road - Tintagel Colombo Hotel

Beautiful heritage property with elegant interiors and a very peaceful atmosphere. The hotel feels like a calm oasis in the middle of Colombo. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable. Staff were exceptionally warm, professional, and attentive. Excellent breakfast and overall high-quality service

Breakfast was delicious. Location and character of building are great.

The building is very old and so we expect some issues relating to old buildings. Our room needed a wee bit of maintenance - loose floorboards and rattling windows. Otherwise all lovely.

Disappointing. Property more cramped and will less outdoor space than it seemed in website.

In need of some renovation - peeling paint externally. Shabby stair carpets. Poor lighting in rooms.

Iconic property in Colombo. Really feels like you're visiting a part of history. The suite (and bathroom) was beautiful. The staff are very attentive. The Sri Lankan breakfast was surprisingly outstanding. The pool was great and they have a gym (and steam) that's just about passable for a short trip.

Just tips for the staff:- The check in process was a little slow- Need to have basic toiletries like a sanitary napkin on site and available for your guests- If you're going to ask guests for a precise time for breakfast, you need to make sure the breakfast is ready at that time- We had a creepy crawly in the bathroom (that unfortunately surprised my wife at night)

Beautiful colonial architecture and wonderful staff

It is too noisy. We could hear every single sound from the ground floor of the hotel (people talking, music, etc)

Loved how beautiful the place is. Staff is friendly and understanding. We asked for a different room and they had one ready for us. It took a while for them to get it ready as the previous customers were still occupying the room. Loved that we were handed over a 10% discount card to shop at their Paradise road stores.

The room needs better plug points. They definitely need to upgrade their plug points. I am a photographer and need multiple plugs to connect my devices.

I really the location and the heritage aspect

The hotel is a bit run down. Water damage on the walls and curtains.The bed creaks like crazy. The walls have stains on them.

So elegant!! Amazing art and ambiance. Great pool and decent exercise room. History in the walls. Good food and great service.

The rooms are black and dark. Very hard to see where things are with black floors, countertops, furniture. Elegant but at a cost!

Very grand, maybe too grand for us! The staff were VERY attentive, more so because it was quiet, but they were lovely and took every chance to make us feel looked after

Design and the feeling of staying at an exquisite property is superb. It’s a place with history and it’s been maintained well. The food at the restaurant was great.

The rooms felt a bit dingy probably because we had cloudy rainy days outside but otherwise it was great .I wish someone would talk to us about the property. The staff need some training to give the guests a little story about where they’ve come.

it was a fab hotel. loved the decor & comfort of the rooms. staff were very friendly & helpful. location is great.

Cute little boutique hotel with beautiful rooms and great staff.

The treadmill was not working, which was a small bummer.

Location, decor and staff

Rooms were a bit dark!

The property clearly has great history, the location is great and the staff is warm and friendly.Key facilities like the bed, the washroom, etc were all great - no complaints.

However, the facilities need to be refurbished. The carpets seem to be old and dirty, the gym was tiny and depressing. The room also had very little sunlight coming in. The wifi was terrible and kept going on and off intermittently. The food was a hit and miss - in room dining wasn't a good experience. But the meal in the restaurant was great.

Beautiful colonial hotel tastefully decorated and lit.We arrived early and the staff were super accommodating to help us to our Royal Suite early.The room had a super comfy bed and pillows, bathroom with plunge bath and separate shower. Also a lounge area and balcony/patio.Pool is a quiet, calm place.Excellent breakfast

Elegant and stylish – once upon a time. Pleasant staff, working hard for their tips. Good (expensive) restaurant, but shabby appearance.

Down at heel, dirty and dingey*, and now desperately over-priced.*A library so darkly painted and dimly-lit that no-one aged over 45 could possibly read a book in there after dark

Beautiful old mansion with large rooms and a sense of bygone grandeur.

Probably was great when it first opened. Decor and furnishings are tired. Air conditioning couldn’t meet the requirements of the bedroom or the day spa (was more like bikram yoga vs a relaxing massage).Location isn’t great. Nothing close by.Staff were either too eager it was nearly creepy or nonchalant.
