Well placed, comfortable and with very helpful staff and good food.

Convenient central location, Comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

Small pool and it looks bit dirty.

The property is located within the heart of the city. Everything was within a 5 km radius for us. Spacious room with a great view at an affordable price. The breakfast was fine.

We stayed in Morven Hotel Colombo for 2 nights, in standard double rooms. Overalls, the room is very clean and well maintained. The bed is super comfortable and the view is really beautiful. The staff was really helpful and assisted us with the luggage during checkin and checkouts.

There’s no minibar in the room. The food options in the breakfast buffet could have been better with variety of food options, it was rather limited. The receptionists could improve their guest interactive skills, and smile a bit more often.

The service was great and staff is great!

Rooms could have been more cleaner. Bed wasn’t comfortable for a deluxe room and the room was not sound proof . Could hear things from other rooms

The location is very convenient, can easily travel to all the close locations of Colombo, and the rooftop bar is very nice with a nice atmosphere, good place to have a drink with a few friends, and overall the staff was very friendly and inviting.

Please keep the bathroom clean and have the tooth paste and brush and also the footwear for bathroom.

Disappointing

Check in process was a nightmare. Was originally given a room with someone else in it. In the end the room i was given was not the room booked but didn't want to have to go down to reception again. TV didn't work. Had someone come up to fix it and it worked until I turned it off then the same error message displayed again. Reception staff were not friendly or welcoming. Facilities advertised upon the website were not available due to maintenance (roof top bar ect) And a small point but whilst waiting and watching everyone else check in, I saw they all received a welcome drink and upon my check in, nothing.

Room & bathroom good size & comfortable. Lovely roof top swimming pool. Plenty of choice for breakfast.

Location

No fridge in our room, sadly there was no bar to go to for drinks with friends :( This hotel is currently under renovation which was not mentioned anywhere. Breakfast was expensive and very average.

We have stayed in this hotel several times and it remains a good comfortable hotel and great value for money.The hotel is well located near to various shops and restaurants and a short tuk tuk ride from the city centre. Although it is situated on the Galle Road it is very quiet inside and the rooms have efficient air conditioning. The premium rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom has everything you need.The staff are very helpful and welcoming.

The inbuilt wardrobe is in an awkward place and the room safe didn't work.Only minor matters in the great scheme of things.

Very dissatisfied

I had booked with Agoda and booking.com unfortunately I was charged for both bookings, therefore the hotel was paid twice. They had realised but did not inform me. The manager informed me that as a Agoda and Booking.com was what the same company I could get a refund from Agoda this is not true in this case both Agoda and Booking.com have contacted the hotel to plead my case, but no refund has been issued. I feel customer care is very bad where they can charge an elderly customer twice for the same booking, due to an unfortunate error. I would appreciate more help to gain a refund.

The Hotel has a nice traditional flair. The Restaurant has good food and the prices here are acceptable. The service personnel is friendly and helpful.

The management is lazy and greedy. I had to ask 2 times for an Airport transfer via booking. At the end they said that they would send a Taxi. At the arrival at the Airport there was no one waiting for me. I called them and they arranged a transport for 12000 Rs (40 US$). For a normal Taxi you pay 4000 Rs.!! So this was a fraud. When I entered the Hotel they gave me a very dark and small room. I asked for an upgrade. They gave me a big room for paying 30 US$ more. But the best room they have on their price list costs only 20 US$ more! Another fraud. Dont got there! You will be screwed.

Location

Where do I start? This property was filthy! Black mould all over the walls in bedroom and bathroom. Unclean, hair in shower. Made to wait in smoking area with two small children on arrival. Pool area is a construction site with broken glass, dangerous tools and cigarette ends everywhere. A health hazard. Trying to contact booking.com but no one is responding to me with regards to this property.

the windows would not openthere was an extremely unpleasant urinal stench from the shower at nightthe cleaning staff trolleys were so loud (wheels) it seemd like a tank driving in the corridors - extremely unnoying especially in the morning, when most guests try to sleep
