Horizon Hotel

The hotel location is very central and accessible to everywhere. Is about 20 mins to airport too. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Nice room, strategic location, good food

Location downtown kota kinabalu walkable near the seafood and night markets with the covered walkway. Walk to nearby malls. Rooms were comfortable and on the small side. After some room issues were eventually resolved by the hotel manager, the stay was lovely. Staff very friendly and nice. On site restaurant and cafe. Small pool with limited hours and closes at 7pm. Views from penthouse to ocean were nice.

Smallish rooms. No room near sink to put toiletries.

The location is perfect, right in the middle of KK’s busiest area, directly in front of Gaya Street and close to the Craft & Souvenir Market. Everything is walkable. Check-in was smooth, and the price for the Deluxe Twin Room with Sea View was fair. We stayed on level 10 and the sea view was stunning, even from the lift lobby.The room itself is very spacious. Even with two single beds, there’s still room for an extra chair/table in front of the TV, plus a proper working table by the wall that’s great for getting work done. Amenities were all good, and the mini fridge is useful. The bathroom is spacious too, with a rain-shower option, although the water pressure isn’t that strong. Breakfast was solid with a wide spread, including local kuihs.

There’s a RM 100 deposit per room, which feels outdated for a 4-star hotel in 2026. Service was okay but nothing particularly memorable. Water pressure from the rain shower could be better.

I like the location as just in the city center where nearby having a lots of shops and restaurants. Furthermore, the weekend bazaar just in front of the restaurant. Everything is just within the walking distance. All the staffs are very good. Keep up the good work.

Quite disappointed with the breakfast, I would like to propose the top management should try the hotel breakfast for a week continuously. The sambal having strange sour taste, the bread and cake using low quality ingredients, the mee goreng was off-taste.

I liked the location because it was close to shops and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious with many choices.

It is located at the city centre. Easy access to everything.

Unfortunately, I can heard the guests next room were very noisy. Maybe hotel management could think about how to sound proofing their guest rooms more effectively.

clean & comfortable, strategic location and very helpful staff

The extra large king size bed was super comfortable and the pillows were thick and fluffy. That was the best part of the room! Slept very well.

The room is stunning with a big bathtub to make use of (headsup, the bathtub is in the middle of the room with no partition, so if you travel with friends know what to expect - the shower is closed off/private though), the be is comfy, the water in the shower is hot, the wifi works fine, the aircon works well, the view is... okay haha but the central location makes up for it! Right next to the food district

The breakfast is just okay, i would prefer more diversity because every day is the same, but the basics are covered and it is replenished easily. The pool is on the roof, with only 3 to 5 beds, so if your goal is to relax poolside, this might not be the place. The gym is better stacked than most but will not be the same as a real gym... and I wish their water dispenser was inside the gym iso at the pool area but those are minor things.

The location is really convenient, all the staffs are very friendly and helpful, the room gives a very cozy vibe, the whole experience is great

The basin in our toilet is not clean enough

My recent stay at Horizon Hotel in Kota Kinabalu was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who went above and beyond to ensure my experience was memorable. Their helpfulness and genuine hospitality made me feel right at home.We have also received an exceptional service when I needed a short visit to local medical center and manager and staff took us there and assisted all the way and brought us back with their own car. The hotel’s location is a major advantage. Situated conveniently near popular attractions and I found it easy to explore the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Kota Kinabalu. Whether I was shopping or dinning everything was just a short distance away.One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. The selection was impressive, offering a delightful array of local and international dishes. Every morning started on a high note with delicious food that catered to all tastes. The dining area was also well-maintained, providing a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy my meals.Overall, Horizon Hotel exceeded my expectations in every aspect. With its excellent service, fantastic breakfast, and prime location, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kota Kinabalu.

A pool is a little on a smaller size and the area around it only for couple of people on the sun bed but it isn’t get too busy during our stay. But I can see how this could be a disadvantage if there are more people wanting a fresh moment.

I like the use of white lights in your hotel. It makes the rooms and bathrooms very bright and does not feel hot even without using air conditioning.

Pool area is very small with only 2 chairs beside it. Breakfast was ok, good selection but most of the hot food was cold.

The swimming pool had no bar or staff but could be a perfect place for a drink or snack.

Good location at walking distance from (nearly) everything. The location of Horizon hotel is much better than that of hotels near the shore line, as airplanes follow that line to fly in & out of KoKi. Thus, not an issue for Horizon hotel. Also liked the pool; i was able to smiw my lanes. View from the pool is great! The gym is big and has a range of machines. Breakfast has a wide variety of food; really nice! Room was clean. Helpful and friendly staff.

Aircon & fan quite noisy and cannot only be set to low. Off is not an option.Leaving the place.
