Pros +
- TV Channel are limited and quality are bad and with price we paid ...deserved better then this. Staff at the cafe totally disaster...no greetings and feel not welcomed during visiting the outlet...might be because im just a local but no for foreigner. Overall not what Ive expected compared to what I paid for boutique hotel.
- Charming, stylish and very peaceful hotel in a bustling location - very walkable / convenient to great food and tourist sites. We would have stayed longer but they were closing for renovations. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
- Great location, so many choices where to eat. Easy walk to trains etc. Love the outdoor bathroom. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Extra bonus to stay and much appreciated is the coffee card which can be used daily at the café. Amazing coffee! Tea also provided in room. Liked the seating area out front, inside and the large lounge area upstairs. This was 2nd stay here and would definitely make it a 3rd on next stop in KL.
Cons -
- Location
- Nothing!
- Reception/check in/out - Very unfriendly. There were no greetings/words. That is very un-welcoming. As someone who was a hotelier, a 'hello', 'welcome' and 'thank you' are basic etiquette. The sliding door to outdoor shower - A simple latch/lock would be great. Even its private, that will allow the guest to sleep better at night.Security - Access card needed to enter the place between certain hours which is great but after those hours, anyone can enter and have access to the guest rooms area as there is no card access needed for that section.WIFI - Weak. Seems like it only works for 1 device?I hope this can be taken into consideration and as constructive comments. Understandable it is not a 5* but it is not that cheap either. For almost zero facilities - no gym, pool etc, I expect other areas of services could be better for the price charged. These are simple/minor things that can be improved.

The vibe is pretty cool - post colonial/old china style.Location is right in Chinatown and its a few mins walk from MRT.Plenty of food around. It suits solo/couple traveller.Love the outdoor shower and high water pressure.A full basket of towels, basic amenities provided.TV, AC and fan works well. The cafe serves great coffee!

Very comfortable and quiet. Great coffee in the morning, but only after 9:30 am when the hotel cafe opens. Great location.
Our room supposedly had a garden view, but in reality we only had a view of two tree trunks. Not a flower or shrub to be seen.
Hotel and rooms were tastefully decorated. Bed was very comfortable. I liked the al fresco showering in the balcony! The complementary tea was good quality. The matcha and coffee for breakfast were very good. Staff helpful and friendly. Central location. Good value. Would stay again.
I don’t have any negative feedback about the property.
I loved everything about this cute, chic hotel. Every detail. I loved the outside bathroom and the coffee from their coffee shop downstairs. Also great location, a lot of awesome restaurants around, the Petaling street with awesome street food. Will definitely be back.
If you like quirky and unusual, this is the place for you! Yes, the shower and toilet are actually on the balcony, but it's completely private. The location is fabulous, right in the middle of the Chinatown action, but our room was super quiet. There's a wonderful cafe downstairs, and the wonderful manager, Aung, gave us a voucher for two free drinks every day. Bonus! In fact all the staff were wonderful and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
I loved everything about it!
It's beautiful. I like the rooms with a balcony where the shower and toilet is. Completely private, with a beautiful tree just off the rail. Quiet. When it rains the sound off of the corrugated plexiglass roof is heavenly. Excellent small cafe on the first floor. Always with l very quiet and pleasant patrons.
Not one thing. The busy street outside, full of tourists and stalls and shops is a lot of fun.
It's gorgeous. Sophisticated. The cafe on the first is great. Where you check in.. I'm going to book another night, for when I pass thru KL again in a week. The staff is excellent
Nothing in this category.
People working in reception were helpful. I also liked free drinks in a coffee shop on the ground floor. Some things were a bit unusual, but I kind of liked that old fashioned style.
The area around hotel is pretty crowded and loud, especially on weekend evenings. It's good, because you can grab a snack in no time, but it might take extra time to reach hotel from metro station or with Grab car.
I stayed here 8 years ago and it was one of the best places I had stayed at during my 3-month travel back then. I’ve come back to stay here in 2025 and the place is still superb. If you come here as tourist it has this charm of the older times that combined with its location in the heart of Chinatown guaranties a good stay. A great cost value ratio.
The hotel is located in Chinatown just down the street fro the most amazing food Chinese food in Asia.
The location had character. The staff was kind. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable.
Location and very comfortable bed.
Toilet and shower outside on balcony. Seemed a novel idea but totally impractical and we got covered in mosquito bites. No view, dark depressing rooms
Love the rustic design and uniqueness. Location is second to none. Out of front door is Petaling St, several restaurants, a local KK shop, with Central Market & Pasar Seni literally minutes away by short walk. Very popular daytime cafe downstairs with lots of KL yuppies frequenting and good for people watching from the comfort of the air conditioned interior.
We loved the outdoor bathroom/toilet facilities but this design feature was very polarising. One member of our family was not happy at all! But you get used to it and you need to manage exposure to mozzies but it wasn’t too bad for most of us.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Tian Jing Hotel, and I can confidently say that it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and impeccable service by Aung and Vince. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my staycation was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with a modern twist of the old school chinese architecture design. I stayed in a single room which was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well during my 1 night stay. I have to specially mentioned the bathroom which is amazingly spaciously "open" and yet private. The trees planted is definitely a + point for me. Unique experience that you can hardly find it in the midst of bustling place. The hotel's location is also ideal, as it is situated in the heart of the city, close to many amazaing food, attractions and 5 minutes walk to the nearest MRT and LRT. I was able to easily explore the city and visit all the must-see sights without any hassle.Overall, I highly recommend the Tian Jing Hotel to anyone visiting the city. It is a true gem, offering a perfect blend of greenery, comfort, and convenience. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.
The Tian Jing Hotel is a quiet respite in the center of bustling Chinatown. The rooms are beautiful and the outdoor bathrooms make for a peaceful and unique experience.
Excellent! Prime location. It‘s located in the middle of china town yet it‘s quiet at night. very stylish too. Love the balcony toilet and shower. Really recommend
A throwback to the colonial past with traditional Chinese touched. Very atmospheric. Thankfully no mosquitoes.
Can hear the workers chatting away when you bathe in the open air shower. Best to let the blinds down completely.
The staff was accommodating and held onto our bags for us when we checked out. They gave us recommendations for restaurants and even laundry services. We were concerned when we were booking about noise, but this wasn't an issue for us at all. The coffee shop in the front of the space closes early, and even on the first floor, we didn't hear the street sounds or other guests.
The outdoor bathroom was cool, and it did feel very private (which my wife was worried about). The only issue was the mosquitos, especially at night. Both the shower and toilet are outside, and the sink is inside.
