Excellent location, a gorgeous area with the traditional shopfront restaurants and cafes. Close to a train station, bus route. Easy to get to the Marina Bay area if you're after the walk and exploration. The bar and restaurant staff were always happy for a chat and to recommend places in the surrounds to go for exploration or food.Across from a 7/11 if you need other supplies.The perks of staying, included breakfast, the afternoon tea and the evening drinks and snacks were delicious.

Our bed and mattress were sinking quite significantly in the centre which made for some uncomfortable sleep. I would expect that they would be about ready for replacement.

Decor and historic value of the hotel was beautiful. Our room was exactly as described. Great location and use of The Maxwell hotel pool and gym was a bonus. Canapes and Cocktails were beautifully presented. Staff went above and beyond to make us welcome each time we walked through the lobby door.

While we appreciated the historical essence of the hotel some practicalities of getting a heavy bag up stairs & into the lobby or up the curved staircase in the deluxe suite could be an issue for some.

Lovely. Location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good food recommendations and directions with a smile. It was Charming. Near the metro.

Small room. We had to climb over each other to get out of bed. That was the negative. Especially in the middle of the night. The restaurant was very good but expensive.

Everything was beautiful! The building, location, spacious cozy room, lounge, crew, breakfast, complimentary snacks and drinks… I am so satisfied and glad I chose this hotel for my first time in Singapore. Definitely coming back!

The design of the shower room was a bit hard to use. The water splashes out everywhere and floor gets slippery.

We had 3 excellent nights at the Duxton. Perfect location, amazing food and wonderful staff. Special mention to Jimil, Evelyn and Pearl who made us feel very special every day. Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Singapore!

I’d like to commend the very friendly and accommodating staff - Honey, Evelyn, Pearl, Ridz and Jamil. We were there for 10 days and their friendly ways made it easier to come “home” to the hotel after a day of hard work… free snacks and happy hour drinks too. Perfect!

Although still nice and modern looking, the hotel is beginning to show its age.

Stylish ground floor and great location.

Small boring rooms. Little to no natural daylight. No coffee shop. The hallways had flecks of paper, a staple and crumbs on the carpet which remained there for 4 days. There were signs of shabbiness - scuff marks on the walls, scratches on the side tables - poor maintenance for such an expensive property. An adaptor was not available when one was requested.

Everything was great. We had a very good room. The shutters kept out all street light and much of the sound. The decor was fantastic as were the staff, the breakfast was excellent and would highly recommend. The only comment I would make is the light in the bathroom was not good for putting on makeup... a female issue but all else above standard.

The location.

So much I could say but basically everything - the price, lack of swimming pool on the same hotel, my room was like a jail there were no windows and no wow factor for $500 a night, staff did not have attention to detail and kept messing up small tasks, then lacked empathy when I asked for a complimentary drink for a minor complimentary drink. Nothing about this is “5 star”

It was fantastic. Clean and very comfortable. Location wise is also great! close to the mrt and alot of shops nearby.

Only one member of the staff that we met, when we arrived was incredible. The restaurant staff and the early morning staff were not very professional. The price also didn’t make sense

great location, slightly run down but the hotel has a unique charm. first two nights I wasn’t satisfied with my room, but staff provided me with a beautiful room for the rest of my stay.

Beautifully decorated hotel lobby and Bar/restaurant area. Opium Room 2 has in room bar set up for self prepared cocktails!Friendly staff and eager to help. Don't always achieve what they promised but they always try!

Unstable in room wi-fi connection. Shower drain was plugged upon arrival, repaired while we were told to be in our room. Time wasted while on holidays. Security safe inoperable upon arrival. Replaced while bathroom drain being repaired, again, time wasted while on holidays. Loose light bulbs in room resulted in flickering lighting.Only one pillow choices - feather filled, not enough support Insufficient storage chest and cloth hanging capacity for a 1 week stay.
