Good Life Hotel - Shang Hwa

The location is very convenient: Near a metro station, a small night market, and Zongshan Rd. The room is not very large, but good for the price.

I found the breakfast disappointing.

The location is perfect for lots of different places and easy to two MRT lines. Also a food night market right outside the door. Nice Japan toilet seat and great hot water pressure.

It's dirty. It's old. Things aren't well maintained. The room has a musty smell. It seems a bit seedy.

Location was perfect- right next to a little food street market that had things like beef noodle soup, Xiao long bao, etc. Very inexpensive area and also had a convenience store nearby (family market). Since we were mostly using public transport it was also very conveniently located to the metro and lots of buses going in every direction of the city. The stay itself was pleasant- very nice staff and easy check in. Also, there is an elevator which was a godsend after walking 17k steps a day. The bathroom had dispensers of shampoo and body wash, clean towels, and multiple shower heads. The bed was pretty firm- this was great for my husband who is a back sleeper, but a little painful for me as a side sleeper. My husband indulged in the free breakfast- not a whole lot to it, but it's free, so no complaints. They had toast, eggs, etc. The basics.

The lobby definitely smells musty, I think they probably had a mold/water damage issue- but it's hard to say since Taipei is just a humid city. Also, the carpet is just filthy- in the hallways and rooms. They maintain everything the best they can- but the carpet is replete with stains and is fraying a bit. You can tell that they try to keep everything clean- and I can't fault them for an issue that is clearly construction related.

The convenient location ( a few stops to Taipei main station), the toilet was newly renovated with its Japanese toilet seat. Breakfast was simple but great.

Bed was not firm enough, sunken in middle. Room was unfortunately not made up on our second day. We cleared our own trash.

Location next to mrt and shuancheng market. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Coffee, water, and winter melon juice always available , free laundry.

Bed was on the firmer side.

This is a nice hotel, facilities are a bit old, room size is good, there is bidet butt clean seat in bathroom. There is cafeteria with a lots of choices for breakfast including coffee, tea and juice.

Overall, it was a nice stay. The bed was very comfortable, it's very close to public transport, the room is a great size, tv, and the bathroom was great! There's also a small night market nearby (it wasn't for me because the smell of stinky tofu was a bit too much).

It was really good overall, but I am going to dock a point, only because there was a faint smell of "wet" if that makes sense. It had been raining a lot in Taipei, and there was a bit of a water stain on the outside of my room. However, I noticed later that they had put a humidifier over it to try to fix it.

Close to everything, but far away from the noise and crowd. Perfect spot. The food is good too, and free access of laundry. Thank you!

Breakfast was good if you like Asian vegetarian food.

Bathroom without a curtain so the whole floor waswet when showering. No hand soap for handwashing.

1) Location was really good, closest station is the Yellow/orange line zhong shan elementary school just a less then 5 mins walk away from the hotel. 2) Theres also a small night market nearby the hotel less then 3 mins away and many bubble tea stores nearby as well. 3) The rooms are really pretty big and really clean and affordable for it's price4) Staff are really nice and approachable! (Asked for extra pillows and they accommodated!)5) Air conditioning is really strong and good for the really hot summer since we went in August almost peak summer ( 36-41 degrees )

1) Needing to tell the counter staff to clean up/tidy our room daily ( if not they wouldn't do so) it can get a bit intimidating or awkward for people to announce to the staff that they want their room cleaned daily especially when we are staying there for a few consecutive days 2) The exterior of the hotel looks really old ( doesn't really look like a hotel tbh) interior wise kinda reflects an olden style but it is still really clean!3) The Aircon can have a bit of a musty/funky smell after a while of use. The Aircon remote? Can be a little tricky to use if you're not familiar with Chinese took some adjusting before getting used to controlling the Aircon temperature etc. 4) The breakfast selection is pretty mid not really western style ( toast bread , sometimes have eggs , vegetables , porridge) but it is convenient!

The staff had a very good attitude, and the comforter, bed sheets, and pillows were all very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious. Location is good too.

Very old facilities with a strong, musty smell in the carpet that cannot be removed.

Very convenient location just a few minutes walk from the MRT and right next to the Shuangcheng market. It was great having access to fresh breakfast, lunch, dinner, and fruit whenever near the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We saw a few dead cockroaches around the property, though the rooms and property overall felt clean.

Easy access to metro about 4 mins walk. Lot of restaurant nearby also convinience store. Staff are friendly and approachable. Small night market near at hotel.

The carpet at hallway need to change.

Location was good near to MRT, Staff was very Helpful, Rooms were tidy. Helped me to books a Cab.

As I am vegetarian not much options left except the Bread , Butter and Jam

Not a fancy but cozy place to stay. Near MRT station and night market, very convenient. Will be on my list for the next visit.
