Very clean and the location suits my need.

Indoor slippers can't be used in the shower. And I thought I heard vacuuming around 11pm？

Such a great location and comfortable beds! Bathrooms were always clean. Also great WIFI!

The location is great. The staff is super helpful. Glenda the manager was super sweet and welcoming and helped with everything. The shuttles to Alishan are right in front of the hotel. The breakfast is great. Would recommend 100%.

The property is clean and they provide drinking water. And the breakfast is good too.

The wifi can’t reach the room.

I got a single room with a private bathroom and it was just as described. It was very clean and met my expectations when booking. It was fairly quiet for a hostel which was really nice as I got some restful sleep.

It's about a 10-15 min walk to the MRT station which may not be as convenient for some people but it worked out for me.

Good hostel. Private room was a good price. Very small room but nothing wrong with it, A/C and WiFi both worked perfectly in it.Really really good breakfast for a free (I think?) hostel breakfast (cereal and milk, bread and waffles for toast with 6 different spreads for them and good choices. Also little hot dogs and of course coffee and tea). Location is really good if you want to be in this part of town and affordable options are limited in this area

Room was tiny, mattress not the best.

The location of Formosa 101 is really great. I enjoyed the laundry in the building. There is a washer and a dryer and costs money to use. Luckily, whenever I needed to use it, it was free. I really enjoyed the lounge on the 5th floor. I actually preferred it to the breakfast area on the 12th floor. I like how the property offered free tea. The breakfast was toast and sausages with different teas and coffee. I appreciated how the bathrooms were always clean (even if they were slightly hard to find at first).

My friends and I stayed in the four-person room with bunk beds. I knew there would not be any windows but I didn't realize how poor the ventilation was. Nothing in the room every fully dried which was frustrating. I also recommend for that room, a chair. There is a small table in the back corner but no chair. More storage or even hooks would be incredibly helpful.

I've stayed there a couple times. The owners are really friendly, though they're a bit more busy now that they have a kid. Overall, everything was clean and nice. I love the lounge on the fifth(?) floor.

I don't love the new bar area as much as the lounge down on the lower floor. Luckily both are still accessible. The room smelled a little bit, but it was acceptable.

This was probably the cleanest facility we've ever stayed in Taiwan. The fact that you need to replace your shoes with indoor slippers before entering the facility reduces contamination from outside dirt.

The space is small was to be expected, but the fact that the staff was unfriendly as hell, plus the low water pressure and lack of hot water was just the straw.

Comfortable and clean place with friendly staff. The shower was piping hot which was perfect after a long day of travelling. The free coffee in the morning was great. Would choose Formosa101 again.

Room number 93C was very cold and had poor quality windows.

The location is perfect. It is within walking distance to Taipei 101 and MRT.

I stayed in a single private room for two nights. I am 1.80 cms (5.9 feet) and the bed was so tiny with springs everywhere that was impossible to have a night of good sleep. I did not see the benefit of paying more in this hostel to stay in a private room if in the end I could not get good rest. I would have prefered pay more and stay in a decent hotel. Noise insulation is decent tho and staff is very friendly.

Amazing stop, recommended by the Lonely Planet, really close to the 101 tower and night market!

From the moment I walked through the doors, I was struck by the welcoming and laid-back atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and chill. The two girls (one Taiwanese and one Swiss) who work at the front desk, along with the guy on the night shift, were so funny; they were incredibly good people. It felt more like staying with friends than in a traditional hostel. The bunk beds and toilets were kept clean.

Probably they can improve or renovate the toilets.

Very friendly staff! I even left my shoes there and managed to get them 3 days later ?Breakfast is good. Was able to wash my clothes and relax for a while in the common area.Great general location too.The bar seemed really nice too, though I didn't actually end up there during my stay.

The hostel sounds much better then it actually is unfortunately. It’s old and facilities not clean at all. Awful smell in the hallway and in the rooms. Some people seemed to actually live there and not being travelers. The cube is okay. Though not clean either - had plenty of hair everywhere.Breakfast are slices of bread and some spreads/ marmalades but only one knife per glass to spread it on your bread. Not hygienic at all.

Good location and the dorm rooms were nice.

In a big building on two seperate floors which makes it difficult to nip down to reception etc. Bathrooms a bit grotty and no aircon, and the free breakfast is very basic toast and coffee.
