Mei-Hua Hotel

The staff at Mei Hua were very friendly and helpful. The property was close to the train station, a night markets, many convenience stores and some restaurants. The staff did not speak English but enthusiastically used translation apps to ensure we could communicate. They allowed us to check in early.

The property is extremely dated and wear and tear was obvious. It was quite surprising when first arriving.

Near at Kaohsiung main station,walking distance and very near to shops

The room was clean and there was coffee/tea available, water and some flip flops as well as the towels.The bed was huge and was really comfortable

The window was super small (size of bigger notebook - A4) so to cool down the temperature in the room we used AC, but there was no temp control just the power of AC - in the end we slept with AC turned off because it was too cold to keep it on (and we needed to put on blouses).

Great location between 2 metro stops (not too far of a walk from either). Safe neighborhood. Short walk from a night market as well. LOVED the spaciousness of the 4 person (2 double beds) room and bathroom!

Good location, 10min walk to main railway station, good size room and bathroom, nice and clean and a firm bed which I like. Check out up to 11.30am and they seem happy to hold your bags before/after check in/out

Low ceiling with minimal basement style window, rooms perfectly ok for a shorter stay but due a refurb as opposed to repairs. Entrance light switches on far side of room and no real control on AC (similar to many other places)

Bed mattress was a little bit too hard.Fridge can be noisy when operating.I couldn't find a way to set the air conditioning temperature (way too cold)

We cannot control the air conditioner at the right top of the head, which is very uncomfortable.There is only one socket far away from the bed so that we cannot charge and be on the phone at the se time.

Bad choice. Do not book this hotel.

Smell like insect killer, old old hotel, they don’t speak English.

The room feels haunted. I wanted to switch immediately but decided to stay anyway. I felt very uncomfortable in the room

The room is big. It can accomodate up to 4 pax for 3 pax room. Wifi is stable. The location is like 500m from kaohsiung teain station. Very convinient. It’s also near to a lot if indonesian restaurants where Muslims can easily find the halal food.

Quite an old hotel. But it’s okay. Others all good.

The location is quite close from the heart of the city, the bed and pillow are kind of nice

Room was a bit small, while the toilet seems a bit too big for my preferences

- Within a walkable distance from Kaohsiung main station and also from Formosa Boulevard MRT station.- nothing else, that's it, really that's it.

- Be careful, LOCK of the window was BROKEN when I stayed. No matter how I tried to lock it, it was not impossible due to the defect structure of the lock. I have seen similar one previously in the other city at Taiwan, so you might see it if you stay at old and cheaper hotel.- I went down to the front and requested to change the room, but they say there are no vacancies. It was very very stressful and unrelaxing night. - Facilities are old.- Neighbourhood atmosphere nearby at night is not that safe. Staying at the main street is better if you are looking for this area. This is Kaohsiung, so, not the degree of "dangerous" compared to the cities around the world, though.

Convenient transportation and high cost performance.

The location is good, about 10 mins walk to the Kaohsiung Station, and the staff are friendly. The price is cheap and affordable.
