South Cairns Resort

Seriously, can't think of anything best. Since I booked in the last minute, I paid a higher price also.

Staff is rude. Some of them could not understand English. The "pool view" room I got didn't have a view of the pool. It a old run down place that had a cheap renovation. Also, its not close to the Cairns city center. Avoid it if possible.

Pool is very nice. Can walk to fast food places. Plenty of parking. Quiet. Price.

A little shabby. Very few amenities. Out of date.

Good location close to shopping and restaurants.

Awful. Worst and scariest place...

Room was filthy and stunk , busted pipes in “kitchenette” sink which led to flooded room. Windows were not secure and I am a single mum with young children, felt very unsafe. People were drinking and yelling and walking past my room up until 3am. Cupboard doors were jammed and unusable. Didn’t supply a doona, just a sheet and throw over as a blanket in winter! Falsely advertised photos online in regards to the state of the place. Pool fence is rusted and broken, pool was green. People were in the pool area with speakers and alcohol, gardens were full of rubbish and cigarette butts, the playground and gym had no faux grass as displayed in photos, instead those areas were bare with sand, black exposed plastic & cigarette packets/rubbish. All equipment was rusted and unusable, extremely dangerous, fencing around equipment was rusted and not secure. Drug deal exchanges accrued right outside of the properties front gate as I was going to get dinner for my children. When I began to voice my concerns and upset to the receptionist , he was very dismissive and deflective. Cut me off while talking. No apology, no offers of refund which I wanted, felt very unheard and disrespected. The place needs to be closed down with the hazards and health risks. It looks and is treated more like a set of run down flats no where near the standards of a “resort” the title is completely misleading

Lost a room due to toilet wasn't working didn't offer a refund. Then one I The other rooms we had booked no water in the bathroom told them and just got pushed off to someone else and again no discount was offered.

Location, close to city and shopping. The staff are nice.

My room. It reeked of cigarettes. As if someone's grandad had been smoking in there for 50 years, not just overnight. I am asthmatic and could barely breathe. I sprayed a whole bottle of perfume to try and mask the smell.It made me immediately feel unsafe and unsure of what I had got myself into being a single traveller on holidays wanting to enjoy cairns.The grass was unkept. The rubbish bins were full. There was loud rap music playing downstairs till 9.45pm. The fridge didn't work, so my milk went off, not that I would have eaten in this room. I cried that first night, its illegal to smoke in hotels. The smell was really confronting and the music was so loud, it was so bad, so much so that I cancelled the second night. I am trying to get a refund now.

Good size room, self-contained

Need some reno,I had a room with a door to the next door room and the neighbours where noisy!

Room was very dirty, curtains was mouldy walked out of the room to go to our car too see maggots on the walkway

Very old and outdated. The playground facilities are not maintained at all. We could hear the people next to us ALL night. The lights glow blue when off. Felt unsafe staing there.

Arrived to find room configurations had changed and no longer had bunks and trundle in room plus queen.. was told I would have two of use would have to share after booking a room that had 4 beds...The room was very outdated not cleaned bugs throughout and on the second day air conditioner started leaking water everywhere..Toaster cased an electrical short..No table or chairs had to eat meals out or on a bed..Other guests seemed to party if you had to sleep days to work nights this is not your place...Given 2 $20 vouchers to the Asian restaurant attached to the resort which given all the dramas we had i thought was a insult..Bugs miggies, spiders, cochroaches and flying bugs seemed be coming out of gaps in the roof..I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, not even my worst enemy...If I could it would be rated negative stars but have to give them one unfortunately..

Great location, felt safe and great spacious room, friendly locals and staff made my stay even better

Wifi was a bit slow every now and then but it was still good

The bed was clean and staff were very friendly.

The place does not look like the picture and pictures are out dated. The property has over grown grass / bushes no house keeping and not kept up to its full potential. Everyone hanging their clothes on the railing so it looks more like commission housing then a resort. price reflects the property.

The room was every outdated and unclean. The lighting in the room was basically non existent and one of the light switches didnt work when we first got into the room

Clean and comfortable location good for work and city negatives were it was run down and needed repairs price didn’t match star rate All in all ok - if we want 5* we would have paid more for

Nothing really stood out as a dislike as it was only one night and we were out drinking

Loved the rooms and security I will come again

I couldn’t access wifi and to access Stan or Netflix but other than that I will definitely book again

Looked good place has potential but for 1 night not worth what was charged.

There was a dead cockroach in corner of room , front of fridge was covered in stains , there was empty bottles under bed and alcohol in fridge from previous customer so guessing just bed made and aircon turned on . Also requested top floor ended up bottom floor corner room in front of garbage bins at stairs that smelled had to walk a few rooms up to sit outside .

I arrived from the airport by taxi directly to the accommodation. I was an hour early for checkin however the receptionist checked if the room was ready. It was, so I was given the key straight away. A courtesy very much appreciated.Very hot and humid in Cairns for the duration. The room air conditioning worked wonderfully to keep the in room temperature at a comfortable level. The bed was super comfortable.
