181 The Esplanade

The location was ideal. Although, when I showed up they oversold the rooms leaving me without one. They didn't assist in finding other accommodations.

Oversold rooms and didn't offer assistance finding other recommendations. In addition, I had to seek a refund on my prepaid reservation as opposed to them automatically issuing refund.

outdated furniture, pillows were uncomfortable didn’t sleep wellcause of it, no cleaning was done throughout our stay but they had the essential needed to clean which was ok just didn’t have mop. rooms didn’t have spare toilet paper or even milk had to ask for milk when we first got in our room. toilet holder looked like it was about to fall out of the wall.

Oceanfront location was fantastic although quite a bit of walk from the lively esplanade. But we liked the quieter part of this property’s location. The grocery stores were far. It would be okay for those who have cars. The nearest grocery store was quite expensive.

The bathrooms need updating. Kitchen lacked in some essentials for examples there were no drinking glasses. Just wine glasses. The general cleaning products were lacking. When you stay for 5 nights and the supply lasts just two days, it’s not acceptable. The comfort level of mattresses in the second room were so so. One full bed and one single bed filled up the room. Not enough room to move around.

Great views and slightly out of the city, but can walk there easily. Pool was great too, with a nice restaurant right next to the building.

Spa was closed.

Location, easy walking distance to shops, restaurants etc. Fantastic view of the ocean and esplanade. Easy access to the apartment

Old building, needs major refurb. Apartment was not very clean, cockroaches a regular sight. Foyer stinks of rotten rubbish from disposal chute. Furniture very worn and stained.

Very nice setting well equipped kitchen bathrooms not so much 5 shampoos no body wash or conditioner.

Too far from the centre of town & restaurants etc. only one pool lounge which was very hard. Bleach burnt toilet seat about 15 years old very unattractive.

Large apartments right on the esplanade. It was a 20 minute walk into town but it was really quiet at night which was nice. The lady at reception was really nice as well.

It’s definitely dated. The shower leaked in both rooms but just mopped it up with the towels.

Very spacious, kitchen well appointed, great views. Wash and Dryer were the best. Loved the climate control with the cooling.

Nothing really, the shower in the bath was a bit awkward. But just used the other bathroom.

181 The Esplanade is perfect. The staff are very good, location is fabulous - the Cairns Base Hospital on one side and a great restaurant & cocktail bar on the other. It is also a very easy walk into town along the waterfront. I booked the accommodation for my 95yo mother & 2 siblings. Their arrival was a little delayed, so I did some grocery shopping for them and dropped it off. I was able to pop the groceries in the unit prior to the family checking in later. This made the weekend so much easier for my family - very much appreciated

Location in the northern and quieter part of The Esplanade suited our needs. 8th floor apartment provided 2 balconies which were wonderful relaxing spots after days out with great view over The Esplanade garden & recreation areas and sea views to NE and mountain views to the NW. Parking was a bonus with good accessibility in and out to Lake Street. Adequate and plentiful supply of appliances, cookware, utensils, crockery etc.

Bathroom in main bedroom was a slight concern with shower positioned over a spa bath, requires extra care and caution when accessing.

Out dated room . Extremely Bad smell kept reappearing. No bath towels. As I booked 2 rooms one was 100 times better than the other. Ensuite shower leaked water all over the floor in both rooms. The kettle leaked when used. Chairs on the balcony are worn and uncomfortable. Broken blinds in the lounge room and curtains in the main room.

Great location and really excellent accommodation. Well equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities, spacious accommodation and lovely staff.

Dishwasher wasn’t working. It had pieces of meat sitting which smelt so bad . I had to clean it to stay there.

As a family of 4 staying for 6 nights we loved the space the rooms offered as well as a great aircon. And extremely friendly helpful staff.

Convenient location. Spacious apartment. Had everything we needed.

Location.. 5 minute drive to Cairns lagoon, night markets etc plus ..secure car parking, ocean front views from two balconies.. this place has it all..Full kitchen, laundry, great sized bedrooms , lounge/ dining areas ..The apartment is an older style but totally clean.The swimming pool, sauna ,(spa under repair) are excellent bonuses.The only negative was that the sofas were very dirty..

Location and view was great, apartment was spacious with secure parking, however apartment is very dated, sofas were disgustingly dirty with stains, we didn’t even want to sit on them so we used the blankets from the bedrooms to put over them so we felt comfortable to use them. Coffee machine was broken and no milk frothier was provided which was very disappointing. The en-suite bathroom has a shower over a huge round bath and is a death trap you have to step up to then drop down into a very deep jacuzzi bath (which didn’t work) also the shower curtain was broken so the back of bath and tiles were flooded when using the shower. Door to the fridge was screwed on and the door was stained as well as the dishwasher draw.

Nice building and good location. Staff were helpful but office hours were rather limited.

The apartment was a bit tired and not that clean on arrival. Toe nail found in one of the beds and another bed didn’t look well made. The air conditioning system was very weak and made a lot of noise. Fans were provided for the bedrooms but they were also very noisy. Air conditioning was required with temperatures well into the 30s and humidity at least 80%. It definitely needs to be improved in the bedrooms for the hot and humid months.

Have stayed at this property several times before. This time the location was a primary reason as the purpose of our trip was to visit Cairns hospital. The caretaker/reception has always been friendly & helpful.The unit functions well although a few handy items could be added to the kitchen supplies eg. oven mits.The pool is refreshing & kept clean. The lush tropical garden is constantly maintained.This property is good value for it's location at a quite end of the Esplanade.
