Cairns Plaza Hotel

The staff were really helpful, booked trips, taxis etc. all very pleasant indeed. The location was right on the Esplanade, not far from the marina, lots of cafes etc. The room was great, lovely balcony with a nice view. Comfortable and clean.

I would have liked a desk, but that's being really picky. Pity about the building work, but once finished it will improve the hotel entrance, it wasnt at all disturbing. Nothing to dislike!

Location was ideal. Ability to have three beds in the room was nice. Staff was very pleasant each day and willing to help.

The building was noisy. You could hear all outside noise through patio door and the doors opening and closing in hallway were super loud. For our first two nights the people next door went in and out of their room continuously from 10-12pm. In addition they were working on fire alarms through the day - super irritating for a relaxing vacation. Light to bathroom is super bright and ended waking everyone up when someone got up during night.

Great location - Convenient to everything including drop offs and pickups from all adventures/activities. Great play park for young children immediately across the road from the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Free parking and laundry machines available.

The laundry prices were a little on the high side ($10/load for soap, wash and dry) but not unreasonable and the machines are large. The nearest beach to go swimming is 15 to 20 minutes away (the same for any hotel in Cairns).

Location, quiet, clean and parking. The staff were helpful and professional.

Bedding and flooring material was old/aged. The blankets had stains and rips. Suggest hotel invest in new ones.

Relaxed atmosphere, very clean and tidy. Rated 4 stars , good value for esplanade stay in comfort.

I loved the location. I was close to the Esplanade and so enjoyed walking along the path by the water. I also loved the balcony and the sliding glass doors in my bedroom.

I liked every thing about this hotel. I wish I could have stayed here my whole time in Cairns, but I was on a tour and had to go to the hotel it booked.

Huge room with view, older but exceptionally well maintained building, fantastic staff.

Bed was a bit old and lumpy.

Location was nice, never had an issue with parking, and easy walk to lots of food/things to do.

The bathroom was not very clean, very obvious that it was only ever “surface level cleaned.”

Location is good but a bit far from cruise check in terminal. The nearby Muddy cafe served great food.

No supermarket is near the hotel. You have to walk like 12 to 15mins to reach one. The taxi our hotel called for us was not a normal taxi and the driver was very impolite and drove us to Terminal 3 instead of booked Terminal 2 for domestic flight! It created a bad image of this city where taxi drivers are rude to tourists for no reason.

Location is amazing . Just a short walk to the colourful and vibrant esplanade .

Worst shower facility .. lacks water pressure /force , takes ages to get some hot water. Not so clean bath tubs .

studio with balcony was clean and spacious for 4 people. There are single beds which can be pushed together to make a double bed. Bed ensemble was alright and fairly comfortable. Plenty of pillows, linen, extra blankets provided. Kitchenette has a microwave, plates, bowls, cups, kettle, mini fridge and cutlery. Tea/coffee sachets provided. No stove/no cooking. Smart TV has YouTube. Netflix available if you log into your account. Bathroom has shower gel and shampoo/conditioner. Towels good. Shower water strength excellent! Balcony was clean with chairs.

No complimentary bottle water. Shower/tub ceiling low and a 6foot+ person will have to crouch to have a shower. Don’t expect sea views from any of the rooms as the esplanade is lined with tall trees so views of the sea will be blocked. Overall the building looks to be like an old apartment complex rather than a hotel and is located in the further corner of the esplanade with a 15min walk to the reef fleet terminal. The sound proofing of the rooms isn’t great.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was great and the pool and its surrounds were lovely.

The rooms are tired and worn and could do with a little care.

The location was very convenient to shopping, restaurants and local tours. The apartment was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The view over the lagoon with a big balcony was very pleasing (see the sunrise). The apartment and hotel in general was very clean and the kitchen facilities basic. However, there were heaps of places to eat, within walking distance. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful.

The door into the entrance alley banged loudly and was used by two rooms. Other guests woke us when they returned late and let the doors bang.

Was a great stay. Clean large room with comfortable beds. Great pool and convenient location. We are locals and have never stayed here before - very surprised how good it was.

Great location, close to the centre of Cairns and the lagoon, really helpful staff with suggestions for activities and restaurants, newly renovated pool.

Elevator has a noisy ding you can hear whenever anyone gets off on your floor.

Central Location. Room was spacious. The Muddies Cafe was a sensational breakfast and a bonus that we could use our stay to get a 10% Discount.

The AC was far to warm, we tried making it cooler, however it's as though it was pre-set. The ambient tempt outside was cooler, however there were no screens on the doors, so we couldn't sleep with the doors open.
