- Big and spacious apartments, we had booked a one bedroom but were given a two bedroom instead and the extra space was nice to have. Complete separate living room with sofa, kitchen sink, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, and mini fridge, but no stovetop. The location is very centric and an easy walk to all over Cairns.
- good size
Cons -
- Tv not working appliances a bit past their use by date wifi only accessible in the vicinity of the office.
- The shower pressure was really poor and the cleanliness was lacking a bit.
- No service entire stay, towels, rubbish etc. Have changed name of place, now called something else. Only small A4 paper on window stating old name of hotel.Steep narrow steps, no lift to 1st or 2nd floors. Slippery walkways when wet

The motel is in an excellent location. It is a short walk to the waterfront and to the lovely swimming lagoon as well as being close to restaurants, shops, the station and buses. The manager was very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay very much.
Centrally located between Cairns Central, Esplanade, Catholic Church, next door to Spa and Car Rental. Quite and easily accessible. I was upgraded to a much bigger room (which was nice) The room was clean and facilities were fine, everything in working order. Ideal for both solo and group travelers.
WIFI connection could be better.
Location, location, location - easy walking to hospital and Esplanade. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
No Koala Beach signage on front of building
Location amazing, easy to walk to the esplanade. Good security with a secure gate and pass code (great when you're travelling alone!). Simple, clean rooms. Great value.
This is an awesome, classic motel. The room had a separate living room with a small kitchenette. We were within walking distance the Cairns Esplanade and the pier that is the launching point for tours to the Great Barrier Reef. The pool was clean and the property was relaxing. There is a great breakfast place a few doors down.
We loved this place. It is not new or fancy, but it was clean and relaxing. We really had no complaints.
Everything. The location was perfect, room was clean and big and had everything we needed. Great shower and we’ll equipped kitchen.
The room was huge and the beds were very comfy. The location was central so we were able to walk everywhere. It was extremely hot during our stay but the old air conditioners and fans did the trick. Maria in reception was lovely and let us leave our bags while we waited for the room to be ready.
The rooms are a bit dated with a few things falling apart, but it's all aesthetic.
Location
Run down hotel, old, not well maintain. The ceiling fan vibrated a lot, like if it were to fall down.It did not feel that clean and the dirty walls needed a fresh coat of paint
Quite place to relax with all the amenities in the vicinity.Walking distance to the beach.Comfortable room.
No lift, but manageable.
The location is the best. The staff very helpful and kind. The room was ok but it needs maintenance. The shower and the bobbin from the kitchen was very noisy. Overall it was good.
The apartment needs maintenance.
Location was good. It was more spacious than usual hotel rooms (there was a living room, bedroom and shower/toilet). Outside a small pool and guest laundry room on the ground floor. There was a TV, fridge and microwave. Some tiny ants were running around, but otherwise no other bugs. During my stay it was fortunately quiet (no noisy neighbours).
Besides the TV, everything seemed to be from the last century. It's terrible that I pay >$100 a night and I'm provided with the cheapest pillows, towels, etc. It seems like no investments whatsoever are made into the units. The main issues:- very low-quality cheap pillows - not good for sleeping- there was a cheap and dirty fan in the living room, which was noisy because it was old and probably had broken bearings or something - I switched it off right away. It was hot in the living room and I was just sweating the whole time- the "cooling" system in the bedroom was very-very old, noisy and barely effective. It was hot there as well and uncomfortable- only a tiny soap was provided (i.e., no shampoo or body wash; you need to bring your own if you want to use them)- wifi is choppy and slow (for me it was unusable for anything else than checking emails)
The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was nice and cool!
There was a water leak from the toilet water supply that kept covering the bathroom floor with water. The tv remote had no battery case.
Location, and facility was very clean. Housekeeping staff was very nice. Front desk person (Maria) was sorry super nice and extremely helpful. She was so kind.
We wish there was ceiling fan in the bedroom. It tended to get a little warm.
The staff were responsive. There was lots of space.
The main fan did not work and there was no wifi in the building.
Lady at reception was nice but the room plus facilities are far below my expectations. Bed sheets were claimed to be clean but I have found hairs on my pillowcover
Overall facilities , room location and cleanliness
Staff were friendly Close to town, easy access through front. Bed was comfortable, tho it needs new pillows and pool was clean this time (last stay had faeces floating around)
Couch was old, torn n uncomfortable. Would have been good to have TV in bedroom and tuned into channels, wouldn't get most main channels and was static and unstable.Kitchen jug had filter that was rusty. Floor in bathroom was dirty with dark hairs on floor and in shower. It became very loud after 11pm, some people were running around knocking and trying to open doors..including ours. Over 8 young girls piled into the room next to us, individually banging on the door to be let in and although I had asked them to minimise the noise (due to my child sleeping, they did not). Bit concerned with 'on street' parking. Unfortunately will not be booking in future but staff were good! wish to give better review ?
Location. Bath room wasn't to bad and the kitchenett was handy
The aircon wasn't clean . The fans were dirty . The aircon on cooled down the room a little. The bedroom fan was way to noisy .Pillows and covers were poor quality
