Novena Palms Motel

It was so scary and we did not stay there! We had booked it because it had a shuttle to airport and had good cleanliness ratings but it was in a sketchy neighborhood and the grounds were a messy shambles, filthy pool and two people on the premises looked like sex workers and the one in the lobby looked like she was on drugs. My daughter and son in law were adamant that they would leave my husband in a place like that it was unsafe!

Very comfortable bed. Quite and peaceful.

Pillows could be a little softer.

The receptionist at was so lovely!! The room was clean and comfortable.

Very clean, great sized room and the location was excellent for me.

It was very expensive for a three night stay.

Having a ground floor room with a shaded balcony out the back.was great. The pool was good to cool off in. Shuttle to airport was great it goes weekdays -6.15,715 and 8.15 and free. If you don’t have a car you will need to rely on uber eats or bring something. I had read that somewhere so wasn’t a problem. It’s just a good solid old school motel and reasonable price close to airport - I’d stay again ahead of international flight.

I appreciated that there was full communication with the staff especially regarding the operating hours of the shuttle - they even provided an excellent reliable taxi service because the shuttle doesn’t run on public holidays. Legends!

Good price, room was clean, for a motel it was a good standard for the price bed was comfy balcony was clean a fridge tea and coffee making facilities and close enough to the airport for a cheap Uber.

Local amenities where a long walk but that is me being picky as for the price I cannot complain. Another downside but again not a massive issue was the shuttle wasn't running when we needed to be at the airport but again that is me being picky for the price and standerd you really cannot complain

Location to airport

When I booked , this hotel advertised free shuttle to airport but when I went to reception the day I was leaving they told me that the “ free shuttle “ was only for weekdays not weekends . This wasn’t specified when I did the booking so I don’t know if it’s Booking . Com’s fault or the hotel fault .Also , the entrance of the hotel looks quite disappointing, they need to invest in some renovations .

BE WARNED - After our Jetstar flight (Brisbane to Townsville) was cancelled (Boeing software issue) on November 28 last year, we booked a room for one night at Novena Palms Motel Brisbane through Booking.com for $285. Just as we arrived at the property, I was advised by phone that we had been booked on a flight home later that day. I advised the two Indian ladies at the reception desk that we no longer required the room; they advised me to call Booking.com. I spoke to Booking.com customer service agent (Jensin B) on speakerphone so the reception ladies could hear. He told me that, under the circumstances, he would cancel the booking and forward an email to Novena Palms requesting a refund. However, I have spent the last three months with dozens of emails and phone calls unsuccessfully trying to prise my money out of the hands of the greedy, uncaring Novena Palms Motel owners. They simply refuse to refund my money by constantly drawing my attention to their 48-hour cancellation policy. We have been charged for a room we never got to see. There were only two hours between the booking and the cancellation. This has been a very expensive lesson for me and a good example of how NOT to do business.

Near the airport and very quiet. Cheaper than other places. Shuttle bus to airport.

Staff were super friendly, room was better than I expect for the price.

Airport shuttle does not pick up from the airport. The earliest shuttle leaves after 6am.

It was clean, functional, had everything we needed, bed was comfortable

Location is really good

The room was very dirty hair in the bed and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. floors felt like they hadn’t been washed and the toilet still had pee in it. Unfortunately i wouldn’t recommend to anyone. But the service when checking in was 10/10 the lady was so lovely

Cleanliness and comfort of room.

No information or phone numbers for locally acquired meals for very late arrival.I would have been grateful for decaff tea and coffee being available.Also a bottle of cold water in the fridge.Maybe something to eat, an apple or other piece of fruit.

Convenient location close to airport and free shuttle bus to the airport available.

Only one minor issue, I didn’t receive a code to access after hours entry to the room. Easy fix by making a call but could be more streamlined. Otherwise great stay.
