Cons -
- Very disappointing stay at Meriton Suites. In February’s QLD heat, the building’s common areas were humid and stuffy, and our suite’s air conditioning didn’t work — making it almost impossible to sleep. By 5am we were considering leaving just to return home to get sleep. Check-in was stressful, with only two short-term parking bays for over 200 suites, meaning one person had to keep driving around the block. We also had issues with parking access due to registration error. Issued one key (frugal) and had to request a second key.Basic amenities (toiletries, bath plug, sanitary bag) weren’t in the room and required calling reception. Even the TV setup was convoluted and ours appeared broken with instructions don’t use the internet. No tv for us in main area. Overall, it felt like heavy cost-cutting at the expense of guest comfort. Disappointing, disengaged customer service. Unfortunately, one of the worst stays we’ve had in a long time.
- Was told there was parking onsite, there isn’t and it’s a long walk for to the expensive parking onsite howard smith warves. Staff were rude.
- The bathroom was clean, but looked like it needed a deep clean of grout to make it feel fresh again

The bathroom was clean, but looked like it needed a deep clean of grout to make it feel fresh again
Loved the location, cafes and convenience store very close. Parking was handy. The beds and pillows were so comfortable.
The staff were great & the room clean. The view was good you could see the Story Bridge. All amenities were good.
Unfortunately the mattress & pillows were uncomfortable. The shower was over quite a high bath so difficult to get in. On entry & exit to the bathroom is a wedged & tiled slope. I almost slipped on it. The noise outside of the room was very noisy early in the morning with continual slamming of doors & dropping of items.
Ample space
Reaction from a staff member because she assumed nationality because of an overseas telephone number. She was rude to my husband and apparently snatched his credit card from him. Which made him upset for what should have been a great night.
Good location
Old bathrooms with mould. Not accomodating of a later check out. During peak times when they increase their rates substantially it’s not at all worth the the money you pay
Pillows were so good, and the bed was very comfortable.
Would be nice if when we went to up to the pool, that the pool was outside or partially outside - especially at the weather was so nice!
Clean, comfortable, great location
Great location, tidy and well equipped room. Comfortable bed.
Nothing, loved our stay
Good location and good size room.
Air conditioning could have been switched on before check in, it was a really hot day and our room was stifling, didn't take long to cool down, it would have just been a nicer arrival after waiting to check in.
Good location
My room felt unclean. The bathroom mirror was covered in fingerprints, I had to go request a bathmat as one was not provided. The body lotion provided the seal was open and the lotion had been used.
Hotel is in great location. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
Room wasn't available til 3.30pm (30 mins after check in time). No car parks available on site so had to park elsewhere (about 5 min walk away).
Rooms are self contained. Pillows and lounge are comfortable.
The property location and onsite car parking is not onsite we were told it would be onsite and after arrival and charged $45 to go and park at Howard Smith Wharves. I actually called ahead because I have a broken foot to confirm parking, the lady ended up giving me staff car parking which was nice of her.
Location, facilities, excellent staff.
Parking costs.
Good gym, fully equipped kitchen, nice spa and pool, comfortable bed
The pictures on booking.com do not represent the room that you get. We didn't get a bathtub, even though it was in the pictures of the room. We also didn't have a city view.
The place was super clean. We were able to checked in early and the staff was accommodating. The location is close to the river and the restaurant.
The location was great! The room had heaps of space! It was great to be able to open the windows or use the airconditioner. My room also had a view over Brisbane city
TV accessories were dirty.
Good location and friendly staff
Its very clear that minimal cleaning is done between guests. My bed sheets did jot appear to have been changed since prior guests, the bed was made however I found food residue and other mess in the bed and on the doona. Looks like it had been there a while as mould was appearing. The staff did replace my bedding when advised of this, so that was great, but it never should have happened in the first placeMouldy bathrooms as well.
It was clean, staff were nice. It is a really nice property.
Having to pay additional for car parking which was not advertised. I am not sure staff knew how to sell it either. Having to pay additionally for parking in the heart of a city seems like false advertising when marketing room prices. The pricing of the room was fair until I learnt it did not include parking and the reason I was given was due to the parking being owned by another company, hard to believe when it is apart of the same building.
