    Pros +

    • Good WiFi not so far from main station by foot. Great roof top pool. View is now gone due to large towers being built between it and river unfortunately. I’d say was amazing view to the city skyline before the development
    • Great location near Suncorp where I needed to go . Coles supermarket right across the road . But most importantly is easy to get to from Roma St Station , in the same street . Just up a little moderate hill but a taxi can be used from Roma St Station for around $10 . Very close to Brisbane CBD also .
    • Easy check in and out, exceptional value for money on such short notice, staff were friendly and helpful

    Cons -

    • Aircon was good but old so a little noisy plus right over one bed dorectly and if occupied would certainly have to turn it off as obviously one could not sleep under the machine at their head.
    • Quite noisy, between screeching trains and other tenants. Not ideal if you want quiet to sleep.
    • Dusty literally everywhere where there was a surface both in the bedside light, the little locker and the bathroom. Very little effort, it would have been easy to keep all these areas clean. Staff mixed, some really nice and helpful, some very strange reactions to normal questions (like how do I get to the river). The stairs are closed and labelled as emergency staircase and therefore to get the one floor up and down to the kitchen or the reception one must always wait for the lift which takes ages. The cafe at the reception closes at 12 noon which I find too early.

Bedsheets were clean, rooms were spacious enough, AC working

    Very clean,friendly staff,easy going atmosphere.

    Nothing really

    7DeanePosted on: 2-18-2026

Great location. Attentive staff late night check in a breeze.

The price gouging for a special event at Suncorp did leave a sour taste. Almost 3 times a normal price. Not really what I’d expect for YHA.

We had an event to attend at Suncorp Stadium so the location was excellent . Staff were friendly. Room was clean .

Noise from trains was a bit annoying but that can’t be helped due to location

    7IanPosted on: 2-17-2026

Friendly staff in a good location for Suncorp Stadium.

A bit pokey. OK for a night or two, as lo g as you aren't spending too much time in your room other than sleeping. Air conditioning was good.

    9RebeccaPosted on: 2-17-2026

Great location, only 400m to Suncorp stadium, 600m to a train station, staff very friendly, room was very clean and great value

Shower could have used some TLC around the bottom with hard water stains

    8KellyPosted on: 2-17-2026

Nice beds, sockets at the bed and a curtain. Kitchen is big.

Not very social, very big hostel.

    Passable

No parking and no notice of limited parking or need to book for parking

    4PaulinePosted on: 2-16-2026

    The location

The check in process and a cold shower

    7GaryPosted on: 2-16-2026

Location to Suncorp.Rooftop pool bar, however make sure you go in Happy Hour time.

The price actually doubled due to staying over Valentine’s Day. Quite expensive.Big bodies would struggle getting into toilet area and shower. The cafe in morning was understaffed. The two people on found it difficult and food items were missing from continental breakfast buffet.

    9ThomasPosted on: 2-16-2026

The location was perfect and the facilities were really nice.

The 2 staff members I engaged with need to practise active listening rather than anticipating my question and responding with an answer before I'd finished asking my question.

Few things are good like the cleanliness, comfort

    Parking and Bathrooms

    10WaynePosted on: 2-15-2026

Very convenient and easy to get to staff was helpful but the only thing is that you can not use cash money which was not convenient.

    Clean showers

    8PaulPosted on: 2-15-2026

    Cleanliness and staff.

It was expensive and the view didn't reflect the advertising. Derelict buildings and construction site. Very limited view of river.

    7ElvwrynPosted on: 2-14-2026

    Comfort, close proximity to venue

Noise from others at 2 am

    4NataliePosted on: 2-14-2026

The location was okay, some of the staff were friendly

The staff member that checked me in was rude, the bed was unmade, I had to put the bottom sheet on myself onto a top bunk, there were someone else's rubbish on the light box, the light by my bed didn't work, the bathrooms were extremely humid with no ventilation at all, and the mattress was horrible and flared up a back injury. Overall it was a bad stay, I wouldn't recommend staying here again
