    Pros +

    • Such a great location - easy walk to everywhere you want to go! Great vibe, great energy with folks coming and going to Howard Smith Wharves.
    • Great position, slightly quirky, good rooms.
    • Great and interesting location, nice roof top bar & pool.

    Cons -

    • Small quibble - my room was on the back side - the Garden Wall side - and the windows were in bad need of being washed on the outside. When the sunlight hit them you couldn’t see out because of all the dust and dirt streaks.
    • No. We will return.
    • Not suited for families, some things a little glitchy.

    Disappointing

I was genuinely excited about staying at this hotel, expecting a proper 5 star experience. Unfortunately, what I received felt more like a bait-and-switch.Upon arrival (after 8pm, when changing hotels wasn’t exactly an option), I was given a room that looked nothing like the one I had booked. The pictures online showed a stylish, elegant space what I walked into felt like one of those “expectation vs. reality” moments from Shein or AliExpress. Completely different product. When I raised the issue, instead of acknowledging the obvious discrepancy, the staff insisted that the room was “exactly the same, just bigger” because it was an accessible room. It was not the same. The layout was different, the design was different, and the bathroom with a curtain setup looked more like a hostel than a 5 star hotel. There was zero resemblance to the room I had carefully selected on Booking. No one apologised. Not once. The only “solution” offered was to move me the next day and give me complimentary chocolates. Chocolates? In a 5 star hotel? That’s how guest dissatisfaction is handled? If accessible rooms are part of the inventory, they should be clearly listed and shown on booking platforms not assigned as substitutes while claiming they are identical. Transparency matters. To make matters worse, the security deposit charged to my bank card during check-in has still not been returned. Lady on a reception desk also tried to convinced me I didn’t pay for a stay, when I did during check in and my card was charged. For a hotel positioning itself as premium, this is simply unacceptable. And the disappointment didn’t end there. Breakfast was included, but the fresh orange juice was extremely bitter, the coffee completely undrinkable, and the milk tasted spoiled. Definitely not the standard one would expect. This stay was far from the luxury experience advertised. For a hotel claiming 5-star service, the lack of accountability, transparency, and basic courtesy was shocking.

Location and how modern the hotel was. Parking was extremely easy.

That there wasn't an option for a breakfast buffet

The location is fabulous with restaurants and ferry near by.Parking was easy.Room was very comfortable.Mews restaurant was fabulous, we had breakfast here twice, service was exceptional.

Some noise from the street and neighbouring rooms could be heard, however did not negatively impact.

    Good location. Modern hotel room.

Uncomfortable bed, kept rolling off. Bed seemed to be old and outdated. Most of the staff were friendly but the staff member at check in was so rude and did not talk to me at all and waited awkwardly while others checking in ran outside to go find their mobile phone. Stood at the reception desk awkwardly for so long. When I was checking in, she started to assist others halfway through the check in process which surprised me as I was treated so differently just a moment earlier, she did not answer my questions, did not respond to me at all when I said "I'd like to check in please", was robotic like reading off a script, was extremely rude and had a possible language barrier. No name badge like other staff, all I can describe was that she had over injected infected looking lips. This ruined the entire stay. The hotel is very dark compared to other Crystalbrook hotels I've stayed at, most of it black with bright LED lights everywhere, can be hard to see at times.

    Clean and excellent location

Fitness centre was very small. Not very good value for money for the room and facilities

    9JohnPosted on: 2-15-2026

Great spot literally across the road from Fellons.

There was a little wait for breaky as the restaurant isn't huge and obviously struggles to keep up on high volume mornings. It was worth the wait though.

The ability to have interconnecting rooms and access straight down stairs for food and drink. Perfect location

    Location

Couldn't access the hotel bar....no seats available even for hotel guests.

    6AnthonyPosted on: 2-4-2026

    ok, but a little disappointing.

The promotion of Nature view rooms dont specify that the view is simply a weed infested rockwall with discarded rubbish at the bottom and plastic snarled on the weeds half way down. I suggest some native planting in the rock crevices, or promote the rooms as having no view and reduce the charges accordingly.

Great location, easy to get to and park. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Rooftop pool great for a dip and drink. Will be our go to hotel from now on.

    7ThomasPosted on: 2-2-2026

Property stunning and clean. Great rooms

The roof top bar was very disappointing. Shouid have been advised when booking that on Sunday evenings there is barely any food available as they are closed the next 2 days. We started Sunday for 2 nights so had a very poor experience - and that was a big draw to us staying there

The view, the staff, the cleanliness, and the room were all ten’s.

    9SuzannePosted on: 1-20-2026

I didn't have breakfast. The location is excellent.

    I felt it was expensive.

    10TarekPosted on: 1-18-2026

My 2nd stay here and it’s always a pleasure. The staff are very accommodating for any needs. We asked for a room change (only for a better view) and it happened next day automatically with them moving the bags for us too. The restaurant downstairs for breakfast is awesome with some really imaginative dishes. We spent New Year’s Eve in the rooftop bar and had a blast.

I just wish the pool area had more beds but it’s a small area so I understand. Maybe some more beds could be placed in the bar floor area until an hour before the opening of it ? This way people could still sun bath and use the pool ?

    10NadinePosted on: 1-16-2026

The room was very spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. Loved the location - lots of restaurants around including one of the most happening breweries and the ferry stop is right on the doorstep too.

The pool area is very small for the size of the hotel, so unless you’re there early, you won’t get a spot.
