The Strand Hotel

Location is perfect for a work trip to Sydney, the Strand hotel has a quiet library area with a desk to work on some emails, and the pub downstairs had amazing honey chicken bowl!

The location was good

Mold in the bathroom around the bottom of the floor and shower.No elevator Noisy

Nice art deco hotel with old style but modern.

It was a bit noisy due to the old windows.

The deluxe rooms are great. very quite and cosy, Library area is great also

The hotel was in a great location. Easy to get to all the sights and great options for food. I enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and the refillable water jug was a nice touch.

The ambiance of the whole place was great, I arrived very early not expecting to check in until later on. There was a room available for me as soon as I arrived and the staff was very helpful.

I just wish the breakfast had a little bit of a variety, while I did enjoy it I would have also appreciated some eggs and/or meat options. Other than that it tasted great regardless.

We liked the location, the staff, the ambience of the hotel. It was nice to have a continental buffet breakfast. All in all it was a great stay.

We liked everything, there was nothing to dislike

I loved the location, the hotel is so cute, VERY clean, surprisingly quiet, the room was very stylish and even had robes! And it has a great little roof top bar.

I have stayed here on previous visits to Sydney due to the location and aesthetic of the hotel. Good facilities ie the hairdryer, grown alchemist products and coffee machine add a nice touch.

Bathroom was tired, tiles missing paint, toilet seat was wonky and shower leaked everywhere! It was fine but not exactly what I expected.

First time experience this, the housekeeper yelled very loudly in the early morning outside the room “ housekeeping housekeeping….” Till you woke up and give them answers “ no need “ . And they kept yelling next door next to your room . Until everyone woke up . And there’s no chair in the room. And you can’t find anyone when you’re in need. That’s my experience good luck

The location, the athmosphere and the bar with good food.

Complimentary breakfast, the library area, location, room was ready really early and we were allowed to check in, late check-out

Quite a small room that needed a little TLC - bathroom floor paint was peeling, scuffs on the walls, etc.

The location is good and the hotel is clean

Breakfast starts at 8am and it is a bit late. It would be good if it is at 730am

Room was clean and presentable

No elevator so had to carry my suitcase up and down two flights of stairs. Tiny room with a single bed and no window, so no fresh air. It was really claustrophobic and I had to have the aircon on to get oxygen which blew cold air all over me and I woke up feeling sick. I had no natural light in the morning but at night it streamed in around the curtains so was hard to sleep. I came for work but had no where to sit, so worked on my laptop from the bed which was super soft and hurt my back. No clothes hangers or iron to iron my work shirt. Sorry- I never usually complain but for the price paid I would have expected so much more.

Great location to be able to walk everywhere, the library as gorg cosy and the morning breakfast was such a lovely touch.

The shower was good however it was hard to contain the water so after showers often the bathroom was covered in the excess water

air conditioner was noisy in room. No milk in room for your tea

Location, decor, rooftop bar

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Accommodation very clean. Comfortable bed. Lovely library / chill out area.

Bathroom layout meant that the sink is practically inaccessible.

The location was great and having a restaurant on hand was also great. The rooftop bar was sensational as was the lounge on the 1st floor.

The security was terrible. Staying on my own, I felt unsafe. The door was open, desk unattended. To make it worse, the security door was broken. The lock was banging because it couldn't line up, I was up five times in the night and then again from 430am in the morning. It's a great vibe of a hotel but not for the faint hearted.
