    Pros +

    • The bed was very comfortable. It was near stores and a few restaurants.
    • We only picked the hotel due to the location close to the International Aiport in Sydney but the immediate neighborhood was not ideal for travelers. It was a residential neighborhood with few options for dining or other activities.
    • Good location, friendly and efficient reception

    Cons -

    • Yes. The drain in our bathroom smelled terribly of sewage (poop). I finally laid a towel over the drain and that seemed to help alleviate the smell for the 2nd night we were there.
    • We assumed the airport shuttle was free. Not only was it not free but the wanted to charge a high $14 per person fee for the shuttle. it would have been $64 for our group of 4. The Uber was $5 for all of us.
    • Cooked breakfast wasn't the best.Had a disturbance with the people in the room next door at 1.15 am, rang reception with no answer... Mentioned it the next morning and was told we should have gone to the desk to report it at the time (1.15 am)Feel there should be more security on the middle building.Overall the room was great etc but just had a few issues.

    Shower over

Shower over bat. Very slippery bath surface. Not safe for older people. Disappointed to have only 3 English Brrakfadt tea bags and lots of Earl Grey that we do not particularly like.

Comfortable bed, early free continental breakfast was welcome

The bathroom. We were in a room designed for wheel access by disabled guests, which neither of us is. The bathroom was unacceptable. The shower curtain had a gap of about 40cm to the floor so water sprayed out, the slope of the shower floor was such that the water ran away from the grate andm out over the rest of the bathroom floor, the shower head had 2 positions, the higher one of which needed tightening to hold it in a suitable position. Them other position was too low for a standing person. As it was a double room, it is highly likely that one person would be a standing adult. We have stayed at Silkari before and this is the first time we have been given a room for wheelchair access

    Location. Shuttle bus availability

We found one staff member abrupt in our breakfast experience. All reception staff were very helpful.

    8HayleyPosted on: 2-22-2026

It is in a great location, the staff were very friendly and they provide a complimentary continental breakfast from 4.30am which is so good if you have an flight to catch

The rooms are small, but practical

    7AnnPosted on: 2-22-2026

The bedroom was clean, bed comfortable

The room was designed for wheelchair access (which we didn't need). Access to the sleeping area was good but the bathroom was unacceptable. The shower curtain had a gap of about 40cm from the floor, so that water sprayed into the rest ofm the bathroom. The fllor sloped away from the grate over the downpipe so all the water flowed into the rest of the bathroom. There were 2 shower heads; the higher one (which was used by us as we are not disabled) was loose so that it wouldn't stay at a suitable angle, the lower one (suitable for disabled persons who could sit on the fold down seat) was too low for a standing person tho use.

Awful hotel. Definitely not worth the 200 AUD we paid.

All of it. Room was bleak, didn’t feel clean.

    6MicallefPosted on: 2-21-2026

It was convenient to shops, restaurants and trainstation. All within walking distance. The best authentic Chinese food we've had in Australia.

The carpet is very old and falling apart in the hallways. It could've been cleaner. There were cockroaches! It needs a revamp for the price they charged.

    4StephenPosted on: 2-21-2026

Bed was comfortable and hotel conveniently located

Car parking too tight and an unexpected extra cost. Shower and bathroom built for the size of a 5yo, not appropriate for an adult. In the tight room, the chair too large

    6LouisePosted on: 2-21-2026

    Pleasant

Having asked for 2 single beds ,it was very disappointing to find them side by side with no access from both sides

    7JohnPosted on: 2-21-2026

Decent value for money. Handy to the airport.

No desk in the room I had. Breakfast was basic and did not include the hot food. There was a staff member there watching to make sure you ate what you paid for. They charged for parking when there were a lot of empty spaces.

    5MariaPosted on: 2-20-2026

Close to airport and transportation available

No lifts to rooms - had to carry heavy bag myself up the stairs - not suitable for older people or people with any physical problems

    8SamanthaPosted on: 2-20-2026

All communication with the hotel was easy, the reception staff were kind, and the room was comfortable and clean. The shuttle service was helpful as well

The dining room staff came across a little rude/abrupt during the breakfast service

    6AnthonyPosted on: 2-20-2026

    Great location

Rooms tired and outdated. Small bathroom. Carpets need clean and or replacement

    6JeffPosted on: 2-20-2026

Breakfast was ok,shuttle service very good, lighting was excellent ,comfy bed ,quality of linen

The PowerPoint next to bed coming away from wall exposing wires, front leg support of bar fridge missing ,basin ,toilet roll holder and glass support loose toilet cistern running on all night ,bed head worn scratch marks, dirty marks on carpet, bathroom too small, pictures in advertising much nicer

    10PaulaPosted on: 2-19-2026

The room was very comfortable and had a lot of space. I also walked from the airport and it wasn't that bad!

    7NaomiPosted on: 2-19-2026

    Bed was comfy.

No lift had to carry luggage upstairs. Fridge door was left open on arrival so milk inside was warm.

    2MichelPosted on: 2-18-2026

Nothing really. No lift, no help with bags. Rude canteen staff. Grubby room I’m afraid.

Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Rooms are dirty. Bathroom stained. It’s tired and dated. Staff are rude. They do advertise a shuttle run but don’t be fooled by the headline. It’s $15. Can get T8 for a fraction of the cost if you can. 10 minute walk. Also be aware that the breakfast is a limited cold continental breakfast. Again don’t be fooled by the headline. The canteen lady will publicly embarrass you if you make a genuine mistake and go to the wrong zone. Truly awful.
