Barrys Beach Road Hotel

Location- not right on the main street..plenty of cafes etc.Clean and comfortable

We knew it would be loud due to the bands and DJ'S playing in the hotel so were prepared!!

Location was great, a short walk to explore Bondi Beach area and plenty of food choices around.

1. That I was charged $64 extra to have the convenience of a smoking balcony, when no such balcony existed. There was a deck where anyone could smoke, so I was ripped off $64. 2. On the 3rd floor, I knew there was a pub on the ground floor but did not know about the nightclub on the second floor, which was so loud we couldn't sleep, got a headache from the doof doof pounding through the walls, then even hours after the music stopped you'd have drunk people running up and down the hall and carrying on loudly. After flying down from Darwin then getting less than 4 hours broken sleep, we were not impressed. Forfeited our 3rd night and went somewhere else so we could get a good night sleep. 3. Room was overpriced for the size of it. There was nothing "Deluxe" about it.

The staff were extremely helpful. The lady on reception gave me an umbrella when it was pouring down and guided me to where ever I was going. Even though there was a dj downstairs I slept very well.

Having to set up app for keys as I am not tech savvy, but staff were very helpful. Had trouble getting normal TV channels, staff helped out again but even the girl had trouble working it out. Coffee cups way too small

Good location and cool fit out.

The noise, trying to get a park, having to walk through people partying. I wouldn’t recommend coming here on a weekend unless you plan on partying there before staying the night.

Very dirty rooms, the bed sheets were not clean nor were the towels. Very expensive for the service.

Easy access, good location, good price for Bondi

The location was perfect whilst in Bondi, just a short walk to the beach and there was a bus stop outside for going to Bondi Junction/into the city. The room was clean and everything as described.

We knew this hotel was above a bar and most nights this wasn’t a problem at all. However over the weekend the noise levels heard in the room were so loud. It would have been nice to have been warned of this by the staff so we could have made arrangements to stay out later that night. The next day we also spoke to other guests who complained at the noise. This was our final hotel before travelling home (30+ hours) and our flight wasn’t until 10pm. We asked reception if we could use their outdoor shower later that day to freshen up before the flight, where we were told no. We have never come across this before when checking out of a hotel. It really put a dampener on the end of our stay. We wasn’t asking for a shower in a room, it was simply the outdoor communal shower we wanted to use.

Stayed over Christmas and staff were great. Amazing location, few minutes walk to bondi. Social hotel with nice bars.

Could get loud in the nights if you wanted to sleep early but wasn’t an issue for us :)

Great location, very clean.

There is no noise cancellation in the room apparently, so one can hear all noise from the pub downstairs, abd even when the pub was closed could hear all the noise from the cleaning it. It didn’t bother me cause I can sleep in any conditions, but might be a problem for people who cannot go to sleep easily.

Wifi drops in and out as old building

Good central location to area. Parking was convenient and straightforward. App for room key was easy to download and use.

Nightclub / bar below loud at night and can hear at room. Have to walk through bar area to get to room. No elevator and no help for baggage offered, was very difficult to lug suitcases upstairs.

the bed was comfortable

my room wasn't clean when i arrived, the internet on the tv didn't work and there were 2 cockroaches in my room. Also no lift was quite inconvenient. It was incredibly loud as well.

Spacious room, good location

Everything else :( it is above a nightclub which isn’t advertised so the music blasts till 2am. The walls are paper thin so when the music stops the drunken neighbours start up. The tv didn’t work, the AV didn’t work, there was no soap, no tissues, the manager was rude and offensive,and the reception is rarely staffed, and so the multitude of issues could not be sorted out. Other bar staff were polite, but could not help. Definitely not a family friendly place despite the advertised “family rooms”. Very expensive for what is.
