    Pros +

    • My room (#11) was totally serene and filled with light despite the window being up high (the hotel staff told me that they had decided late in the building process to make it a guest room vs. another type of space. Also loved evening tea downstairs.
    • This is an outstanding hotel. The staff was incredible and went out of their way to get us reservations (and did so without fail). The breakfasts were something to look forward to with great dishes beautifully plated, freshly squeezed juices, and
    • From the moment we walked into the hotel, we felt so comfortable and taken care of.

    Cons -

    • (nothing, just continuing section above) starched napkins. A freshly made welcome cocktail was yet another reason to look forward to coming back every night. Also, the rooms and the rest of the hotel were incredibly clean and well-maintained. A+.
    • We wished that the bathroom had a real door.
    • It is four flights of stairs to the top floor (Room 10) which I didn't mind but if you have access needs, or a heavy suitcase, you will need to request a room on the ground floor. It was also quite cold, I think the aircon wasn't working. This didn't bother me and probably could be fixed if I had asked (which I didn't feel the need to).

Location is perfect, close to everything in a beautiful neighborhood but also very quiet. Room (top floor, room 10) is beautiful with a view to the city. Staff were so friendly and helpful.

    Comfortable beautiful rooms. Attentive service.

A Peaceful oasis in a fun part of Sydney, within walking distance of the central sites.Very comfortable room, efficient and friendly staff where nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast too.

Loved the comfort, friendliness and accessibility to Sydney centre. The walk through the gardens to the waterfront was a real bonus. Breakfast was fabulous and bed was very comfortable. Seemed to have genuine desire to help.

Nothing at all really. Our room smelt of cigarettes when we got there but they were straight on it.

Located in a buzzing neighborhood with heaps of great food options. A warm welcome from all the staff and a very comfy room led to a very restful stay despite a hectic schedule. A relaxed cosy lounge, dining and honesty bar made it perfect for having a friend for pre-dinner drinks.

Excellent location, lovely rooms and the service was superb. Warm and friendly, very efficient and super helpful. It made our whole stay a real pleasure. Very quiet despite being really close to transport facilities, the Botanical gardens and the NSW Art Gallery. Highly recommended.

Where the hotel was located, for me it was perfect. The beautiful setting of the internal look — very warm, inviting, and interesting decor — made it feel like a home away from home. The room was very quiet, even with the main window facing the street, and the bathroom was spotless, modern, and thoughtfully designed. I especially appreciated the soft lighting and the generous water pressure in the shower — small details that made a big difference. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, always ready with a smile or helpful suggestion. From check-in to check-out, everything felt seamless and relaxed.Overall, this stay left me feeling refreshed and cared for. I’d absolutely return, not just for the comfort, but for the sense of calm and warmth that lingered long after I left.

There was nothing I found to dislike

The staff were amazing so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was incredible, so spacious and beautifully decorated, there is a bit of wear on a few things that needs some attention but this is a minor thing. The bed is amazing. The products in the bathroom were so lovely to use. The hotel is in an amazing location, train is so close and there are fabulous restaurants and cafes within a stones throw. Also we found the street quiet so slept really well.

A little noise by guests upstairs with creaky floors but this is to be expected in this style of accomodation.

The team were absolutely exceptional! My husband and I stayed here for a 'staycacion' over our wedding weekend for something special and the staff looked after us so incredibly well - they seemed just as excited for our wedding as we were. Everyone was so genuinely warm and friendly it really elevated our whole wedding weekend. Cannot thank them all enough.

A luxurious small property in a buzzing location. Quiet, calm and comfortable with a lovely breakfast choice. But overall the people make this place special, friendly, attentive, efficient….. nothing too much trouble for them and lots of good advice and tips. Loved staying and hope to return.

Great location for exploring Sydney. Lovely boutique hotel with exceptional staff. Rooms very clean, spacious and comfortable.

    10JaakPosted on: 10-1-2025

Everything was over and above our expectations. The comfort, the excellent staff were friendly and attended to all our needs. Upgraded room was excellent and a great size. Excellent breakfast. Can't fault it in any way if we had to mention anything perhaps a full length mirror in our room but that didn't detract from our stay.

Everything was of a high standard, nothing at all worth mentioning.

    10AmandaPosted on: 9-28-2025

Beautiful old buildings. We stay here regularly as it’s so central but has a wonderful calm feel.

Room 1 for this stay which was lovely just a little bit noisier than some rooms as next to the main door.

    9LiisaPosted on: 9-26-2025

    Clean and modern.

The extra roll away bed for my 16yr old was $120pn - we stayed 2 nights. This seems excessive.

    10LisaPosted on: 9-10-2025

Location -Atmosphere-warm and friendly staff - breakfast menu allowed for dietary requirements.

Unlike large hotels this hotel was so personal and the staff were so lovely. They knew us by the end and we felt sad to leave.

The stairs but you don't get the old building and amazing views without hard work.
