Room size, staff were nice

There was constant banging of doors very late after midnight and other hostel ppl werent quiet after 10pm.They kept the front door open with a rope late on a Friday and not sure if it was ever closed which ppl off the street could walk in, I didn't want to leave my room as I didn't feel safe mostly. There seemed to be someone accessing facilities very Early about 3am as I could hear the showers and toilet, commotion in kitchen then they left via front door again not long after. I'm glad my door had a key code as I did not feel safe after this point.Toilets and showers had a lot of water on the floor. Due to poor drainage.

Good location meters away from the beach

Very poor experience, room was not clean walls and ceiling were dusty. Bathroom was mouldy, insects crawling on walls

Terrible, terrible, terrible experience. We had to sleep in the car overnight due to the conditions.The room had cockroaches throughout. Despite hot weather, the fan was not working, and the small portable fan in the room had no batteries. The windows were extremely dirty, so there was no airflow. The fridge was also not working.The shared bathroom was horrible — there were cockroaches, broken toilet seats, and the floor was extremely dirty.There was no staff member available at night. Although instructions said to “press this button” to contact night staff, no one responded. So, we ended up sleeping in the car overnight. We spoke to a staff member in the morning, who said he would speak to the manager and that there was no need to email. However, we never received a call or response. We later sent multiple emails and made several calls, with no reply.Very disappointing experience.Please don’t put yourself in the same situation.

The location is great so close to beach, buses and restaurants

The private room is so far from what is advertised. It was dirty, dark and smelled bad. The fan in the corner of the room was also filthy. Couldn’t even open any windows as there are no bug screens. Felt like I was being hotboxed

A horrible experience.

Rats everywhere. No aircon. No air. Mattress pillows and sheets were below par. Lack of hygiene standards all over the building. Kitchen was a disgrace

Good location. Pods a good idea for privacy.

Cleanliness, comfort including temperature could be improved inside pods and staff interaction could be improved.

Good location and pod beds give some privacy and decent lockers for your bags

There were lots of rats at night in the garden where the bins were kept and some went in the kitchen. We visited in January and it was stifling hot in the pods almost unbearable. The toilets never felt clean with no hand soap in the ladies bathroom. Kitchen was too small and mostly unclean with one sink out of order. The fridge was flooded on the bottom shelf as well.

Receptionist was nice but other was horrendous

I never write a negative review but this one deserves it. Staff spills chemical and it was unbearable and I booked another hotel. I waited an hour to be reasonable before judging if I could stay or not but smell was horrible like my nostril hurt. The staff also agreed it smelt terrible. There was no window either so smell just stayed there. Ended up not staying there and booked another hotel which was worth every penny. I respectfully asked for a refund but the declined by saying “it’s not toxic”. So disrespectful- it was their mistake but they’re so greedy to keep money for service they failed to provide. I’d give a zero out of five.

Never again

There was no electricity in my PodBed; I couldn’t charge my phone, turn on the TV, or even use the lights.To make matters worse, bed 17.2 was broken in half. You can clearly feel the gap in the middle of the bed.Additionally, the sheets had clearly not been changed. They were full of hair and sand, which is completely unacceptable.

Good location.

Dirty room. Dirty kitchen. Dirty bathroom. The room wasn't clean and was insufferably hot. The common areas were dirty. Communication was bad and the front door and gate were left open.

Great location, no ac but has fan, close to beach and shops. Clean.

No staff except 2-6 and when you call they are not very knowledgeable depending on the person.

The location was nice, and convenient to get to.

They overbooked my bed, and someone was already sleeping in it. No staff was present to sort out the issue.

Linen was unclean and smelly, bathrooms are limited and very dirty.Lockers were unusable, I did not feel safe leaving my valuables in the room. Not as advertised.Staff were hard to track down.A lot of people staying long term and the rooms are very messy.

My experience at this hostel was very disappointing. The room did not match the photos at all. The bed was rusty, there was no TV as advertised, and the room was very dirty. The fan and the windows were also extremely dirty, and the hostel itself did not seem well maintained, giving the impression of being abandoned.The conditions were so poor that I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep there. I had to look for another place to stay, which caused a lot of stress and inconvenience. I also asked about the possibility of a refund or at least a partial refund of the amount I paid ($350).When I arrived, they asked for my card details “in case something was broken” and charged a $50 fee. I wasn’t given the option to tap or insert my card — I had to show the card details, which made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe.Overall, it was a very frustrating experience, especially because it was my first time visiting Sydney and I had high expectations.

Worst experience

Nothing air conditioning or light working in pod.So they moved me to the only other available pod and the room door was completely broken - wouldn’t close. Other people in the hostel said it had been broken 2 months

Great location and good price. Staff was really nice about my bags and smoking issues. Very sweet.

Could use some updating. Very old hostel vibes. Also smokers in the alley way and would blow into my room creating a fishbowl. Had to keep airing it out.

Location was great. Short walk to the beach and the cafes and pubs

Very basic set up. Very basic foam mattress bed with a pillow full of chunks on padding. So much light coming into the room from the street and multiple other people staying there having phone calls directly outside the room window.

Close to the beach and shops

A lot of longterm/permanent stay guest. Kitchen is small. Top bunk has no outlet for charging
