    Pros +

    • Great location and lots of friendly people. So easy to meet and make friends here
    • Only 1 min walk to Manly beach, 3 min walk to Coles and 5min walk to ferry wharf.
    • Location ONLY - Prime position. Staff very friendly. Nice that we had our own bathroom. All in all Manly didn't disappoint. Biggest highlight was going to the beach to watch the sun come up.

    Cons -

    • First they put me in the wrong room. Then they gave me someone else's bed, who came back later for it. People were rolling pot and smoking in the building. Then they put me in a room facing into a bar with no curtain or blind. I left on that first night.
    • It could definitely benefit from some renovations and fixing the elevator. No one likes lugging suitcases up flights of stairs
    • Vvvvvvvvery hot and moggy room inside, fans do not work, Strongly non-recommended!

We knew going in that the complex was a budget backpackers facility. We knew what to expect and what we were walking into. This was a deliberate booking on our part and the fact that it was only one night we were willing to go with it. Other hotels were far too expensive for a one nights stay, not willing to pay $400 plus for one night. Surprisingly had a good sleep even though there was some yelling and yahooing from pub patrons.

    Nightmare on the Corso

Screaming at neighbouring property bar area and loud music until 1.30am. Tenant jumped on roof an hour or two later and screamed waking up me and causing heart concerns. Immediately booked alternative accommodation and because it was short notice it was expensive. Spoilt the holiday.

    Location, friendly staff. Price

Where to start! If you value your life, do not stay here. This place is a genuine fire and health hazard. After working the stair maze (as the lift is not usable and just a storeroom); you will have your room. Room: untidy, dirty, electrics faulty, beds made of tin and rattle. Once you get past the bed bugs and cockroaches, there’s cords running all directions power boards on more boards. The fans were rusted, no AC, no mosquito nets on windows. Bathroom: so dirty, I just walk across the road the public bathroom to number 2, no way was I touching it. No soaps, doors don’t lock, used and bloody bandaids to great you at the door. Common room/kitchen, furniture order then manly itself. The kitchen was such a mess I just didn’t bother. Food hygiene was clearly not a priority, raw chicken left out, dishes everywhere, counters, fridges and storage just packed with crap. Rooftop: so disgusting, tread lightly, or avoid, no view either. 1000s of cigarette butts on roof, drainage areas, bins etc. this place has had no love since Colonisation. Fire exits: in the high likelihood of a fire, don’t use the emergency exits, they all blocked, be prepared to jump balconies to the bar next door. People: this people attracts all sorts of people from the back packers needing cheap to the crazies that make this place unwelcoming. This place needs a good demolition and a reset asap. Do not stay here!

Breakfast was adequate, staff friendly, great location, basics were good.

Too hot in our room 102. Fans didn't work well and we had to leave the door open which meant we couldn't sleep because of the noise outside!TV didn't work as WiFi was down for the 3 nights we were there.

The only good thing about this property was the location

Smelly, dirty, broken, disgusting hostel… I felt scam, this place it’s not cheap for what you get. The beds were broken, and uncomfortable.. the “breakfast” was old peanut butter jars without bread. Those jars were open for weeks, the common areas are SCARY! Nothing works and all the chair are broken and plugs doesn’t work. I SAW A MUSHROOM GROWING on the corridor.. insane! During my whole years of travelling, never stayed in a place like this. Wow

Good option if you are just looking for a place to sleep and it’s in possibly the best location in Manly!

The rooms are very hot and have no airflow in summer, particularly if you are on the top bunk. Even though they say you can get a refund in their policy, they don’t allow it.

For Manly beach the location of the hostel is superb - once you can find it!

The building has been sold and the hostel has therefore been allowed to run down. It will no doubt not be operating too much longer, as the site will be redeveloped.

    Good location

No one at check in at 2pm, not enough outlet in room

Great location with bars and restaurants and so close to the beachGreat amenities and kitchen Lovely staff

No Air con!! We were in a double room in 41 degrees with no air con and an extractor fan outside of our window that blew hot air straight in. Half the plug sockets didn’t work in the room Not enough fridge space and they smell really bad.

    Location was super convenient

Beds were quite uncomfortable. Although the toilets were super clean, the rooms walls were super dirty with stains and dust.

The location in Manly The staff

I got Bed Bugs in this hostel! Everything is so dirty and smelly. Also realized this is a place where people live in! 4 days there and never no over had cleaned the room

The people living there and the staff was very nice!

The property was not so clean and the beds were not confortable.

Close to beach and corso. Tea and coffee provided. Fridges upstairs in shared kitchen. Friendly chap who checked me in.

It’s a backpackers so expectations were low. Room had an odour of wet/stale deodorant. Floor needed vacuum and wash. Fan and light fittings were never dusted. Old food discarded on top of wardrobe not removed. Dust in extractor in bathroom never cleaned. Sand in the shower. Old bandaids caught under bathroom door. Bits of toilet paper stuck to the tiles under the bathroom sink. Floor in bathroom never mopped.

    Close to beach

Not really clean, no fan no aircon, hmmm

Small but comfortable room with private facilities in the heart of Manly. Lovely, helpful staff.

Parking was not easy. Bit of a rambling building and the free continental was difficult to work out.

Great place to stay if you're on a budget & for short break.Great location, our room had a balcony (juliette), view of the beach & the main street. Bed was comfy & had an en-suite room.

In need of an update in some areas. I believe they have new management & this is in progress.Other guests let doors bang early hours of the morning
