The Capitol Hotel Sydney

Very comfortable bed.

There was a festival on so the parking was unavailable but we were not notified of this before check in. The toilet seat had a rough spot so when you sat on it it was uncomfortable. There was rubbish under the bed. There was only bar soap for hand washing that got stuck to the holder, no liquid hand soap. We were only supplied 2 face washers but had 4 people staying. The pillows were too high and hard for my liking with no softer alternative, I ended up sleeping with no pillow.

The bed was really comfortable. Great location.

Elevator was slow.

Room are very small. Hard for a 4 day stay no enough storage areas and only 4 hangers for closet. We did request more and recipe ed two

Location and staff were brilliant.

Access to reception was via a lower floor. There is only one elevator servicing the hotel, so delays are inevitable. I visited during very hot weather and found the room close.

Overall I enjoyed my stay. The room was quite comfortable and clean. The artworks on the walls were better than the usual hotel art - although some of the other decor was kind of odd. The shower was really nice - I liked that there's a hose option. The shampoo & soap available were also great.

I know this is a very small thing, but I was disappointed that there was no tissue box available. It's not great having to resort to toilet paper, especially if you get sick while you're travelling. Just a small addition that could make all the difference.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I almost canceled our reservation, but after reading the reviews—especially seeing how the hotel manager stood up for the front desk staff against a rude customer—I was impressed.Oh boy, I’m so glad we decided to keep the reservation. The only minor issue we had was the soft mattresses, but that was it. The location was perfect, and the room was very clean. And did I mention the staff? Super friendly!A massive thank you to Michelle and Adrienne for making our stay even better.

It was clean, easy to use and inexpensive for a metropolitan city. It was ideally situated for the Central Station. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a short stay, no frills but excellent hotel. I'd love this hotel in all major cities

Excellent location! Tram stop right outside to get straight to the opera house and all other sights. Only 2 stops on the tram from central station which connects to the airport. Friendly staff, clean rooms.

The room was small and there was no wardrobe or drawers.

The proximity to major spots in Sydney like Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, China Town and all the shopping spots and iconic Queen Victoria Building (QVB). All places were either a walk away or a tram ride away. The staff were friendly and very helpful and due to the early morning arrival we were offered a room straight away instead of waiting for our assigned room to be ready, which was great after an early morning start.

There is nothing I could fault, it was very clean, comfortable and in a great location. Considering it was in the heart of China Town it was not noisy at all. Sorry I have no fault to report.

The room itself reminded me of very much of my bedroom in the late eighties, deep green velvet drapes & very sheer linen curtains , matsuda style artwork & an overall Deco feel! I also enjoyed the bathroom, with its generous size shower! I think I was very lucky to get a room on a very quiet side street!

Comfy beds and great location. Rooms were pretty well sound proofed even though we were looking into the shopping mall.

The shower drain didn’t drain quick enough. Had to have the water flow down to a trickle so that the water could drain. Stayed for two nights

Had stuff stolen from the room and the staff tried to blame me, when I later emailed after check out they tried to say I abused them and twisted the story, extremely rude staff and will never be staying in a hotel after this experience
