Very poor plumbing in building. If you are on level 3, you cannot get hot water if any lower levels decide to shower.

The photos made it look like we were getting a room with a sitting room and bath. There was not one available. First room we were shown was small, plus it stank of damp and possibly sewage. Second room smelt of paint. We were on the verge of getting a refund and looking elsewhere. Finally shown a multi storey room with a tiny bathroom which we took. The staff member did his best but it was not a good introduction. We also found a tissue box with one tissue, and a dirty face washer in the room.

I was in a two story room! I loved it so much. It was very quirky and such a great location. It was noisy in the bar because of burger Wednesday, but I couldn't hear anything in the room. Our niece was in a separate room, but not too far from us. Loved it a lot.

Where do you start? This place Had no ventilation dirty mould in the bathroom so you go down and ask the staff for help and they just try and downplay. It saying that the building is old or the humidity. Vice versa the whole place. Smelt so bad. No windows to air the room out a musky smell streaming out of the rooms one easy fix get new windows No ventilation. Just air-conditioning that’s had a mouldy smell coming out of there I don’t know start this as a seven not to mention loud music till 2 am totally fine it’s a pub but also stop blaring music at 8:00 am. To pay $400 to be ripped off . I don’t even know if this place is even a hotel or advertised as one even if you were to get a complimentary espresso pod to realise that the cups were full of coffee from someone else and not even cleaned. I mean where do we start?

Old building and it was dirty everywhere, check in was late as they had not cleaned the room, dilapidated, musky smell everywhere.Very basic and expensive for what I got.

Noisy from downstairs bar, even on Monday night, bar staff apologised “ they forgot to turn the speakers in the upstairs space off”.The rooms are ok for an overnight leisure stay but not fit for purpose for work travel, nowhere to hang clothes, no storage. Would not stay again.

Great location. Lovely pub beneath. Friendly staff. Very good value.

Could be cleaner, bathroom had some loose fixtures. Grout needed bleaching it had blackened in places.

Misleading photos, space was so little and for the price they charge, you would hope there is exhaust in the toilet (which didnt have a door) or exhaust in the room.

The only redeeming aspects of our stay were the lovely staff, the nice bar, and the good food. However, these positives do not make up for the poor quality of the rooms and the overall lack of maintenance. Would never stay here again and certainly wouldn’t recommend it. Giving it 2 stars at best.

We booked a “Superior Suite” at this hotel, which was advertised as one of the largest rooms in Sydney (550m²). However, when we checked in, we were extremely disappointed. The room was nothing like the photos—it was small, outdated, and had a strong damp smell. It felt completely run-down and neglected rather than “superior.”After complaining, the staff did try to assist by moving us to another room. While this second room was slightly better, it was still far from what we had expected. Unfortunately, our stay went from bad to worse when we were woken in the middle of the night by water leaking through the ceiling. It had been raining outside, but we were not even on the top floor, so it’s unclear what caused the leak. To make matters worse, when we were leaving, we noticed water also leaking through the ceiling in the hallway.

The staff were great, our room was quiet and we did not hear any noise at night , even though we stayed near Mardi Gras.

The room was very small, there was no mirror in the bathroom and no storage, and the hot water in the shower takes a long time to come on.

Fabulous location and comfortable room

Decor is looking a little tired, and it was quite expensive

Rooms had modern decor. Bathroom was clean albeit a bit rough around the edges. We stayed on the third floor and didn’t hear any noise from the pub downstairs

The smell was quite pungent. Once you pop the air con on there was no problems.

I love this hotel. It's such a labyrinth of corridors and doors and when you enter your room you're transported from a heritage listed property to an almost modern room.The staff are lovely and having a bar open late on-site is a dream for those who wish to partake. Luggage hold is a much appreciated offering, too.

Room was not clean and amenities were average. Staff were nice but no one was ever at the desk having to get the attention of someone at the restaurant bar downstairs was a little strange.

It was brief, 15 minutes. Too be fair to the establishment we did have 3 out of 4 nights refunded to us. We realise that

The photos are not a fair portrayal of the standard of the rooms. They don’t man reception until later in the afternoon. The 2 person lift is hard to operate and getting your luggage in with you takes skill and you need to be flexible. Upon opening the door to the room we realised this was not for us.
