Great location, clean, good amenities, spacious and comfortable.

The first night they sent us to a completely different place than what we saw in the Booking photos. The photos have nothing to do with the dump they gave us. The room was in a basement, no airflow, and instead of a balcony, it had a horrible enclosed patio. It smelled like mold, was noisy from street traffic, and we couldn't cook because there was no natural light. Every time we used the shower, the pipes made strange noises, like something was about to break.They promised us a partial refund for the first night, but all they offered was a discount for a future stay, and we don't even know how much that would be. I wasn’t expecting a high floor, just a place with a balcony like in the photos, and instead, we got a dark, dingy room.A terrible experience and nothing like what we expected.

Fantastic staff. Initially provided a room with exceptionally loud air con and when I asked if we could be moved to another room it was no trouble. Handy location to transport. Pool was fabulous and a hit with the kids. Spacious apartment.

The air con didn’t consistently cool and there was a funny smell coming from the vent at times.

Convenient for public transport connections. Reasonable price.

Bed was a bit soft.

The Oaks is conveniently located to Central station, eateries and Sydney's attractions. The room was large, clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was excellent and went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. We'll definitely be staying there again next time we're in Sydney.

The air con was loud and a bit difficult to adjust, the TV remotes were a challenge but nothing that would put us off staying there again.

Great location for a couple of nights in Sydney, close to public transport and the city center.

Personally didn’t like not having a thermostat controlled tap. Also could have better indication about recycling and garbage before everything is thrown in a single bag in the room.

Overall our stay was good, location was good also.

Shower door was very small and the taps in the shower so hard to turn off otherwise they continually leaked.

Be very careful to get a room on a higher floor. Once we moved, we found the new room to be clean, comfortable, and with good amenities. Staff were responsive and understanding of the problems with lower rooms (which were not of their making).

However, the initial room was attrocious. They should never rent this room on level 2 to humans. There is a large airconditioning compressor in a cupboard in the main bedroom which roars like a chainsaw all night. We slept terribly. The hot water undulates between cold and boiling while showering due to dodgy taps. The "balcony" is closed and has no window that open. If you get this room - move!

Always a great affordable local, great big rooms if you can afford that bit more

Room items are only for the day, sugar, tea and coffee, toilet paper etc, etc, if you're booking for 7 days+ the room should be really ready for enough items to cover you for that period, you should be going down stairs asking for extra, if you're booking 8 months out the room should have enough, milk coffee, tea to cover it, easy

The location is fantastic & the pool /gym was important.

The reception staff ignored my request to specifically NOT use the card I gave for incidentals unless & only for incidentals.

The location is great with various transport options close by. The view was great from Level 26. The room was very clean.

The noise of the toilet cistern flushing in an adjoining suite.

The location was great, and the bed was very comfortable. Nearby a busy aerea and a train line, but windows are soundproof, and I had no disturbances at night.

The apartment is very old, the kitchenette has no lighting because it's inside a closet, and the furniture and carpet are due for a change probably for a very long time. The photos make the room appear a lot brighter and newer than it really is. They were so misleading that it didn't feel like the same room that I had booked. It is not cheap, so I expected better, but that's probably what you get with the budged in Sydney... Makes me feel like I wouldn't like to go back to Sydney. There are other nice cities to visit for a lot cheaper.. Overall, everything is so expensive in that city, so maybe the hotel is just a reflection of what nearly $200 a night can get you. But generally, I had a good sleep. Soundproofing was good. All the stuff I needed was there. I just don't expect to come back.

I decided to spend a little extra on this trip, so I got an apartment instead of a hostel as usual. The space and location were wonderful, and I had plenty of facilities available to me even though I didn't use many of them.

There were a few issues I encountered with the room. The most notable was the temperature. The apartment was rather warm and the air conditioning didn't seem to work at all in the bedroom, meaning I was sweating a lot despite it being the middle of winter. The bed also was not made correctly. It seemed the staff had used a top sheet as a bottom sheet, which meant it didn't cover the entire mattress, so my feet were on the uncovered mattress while the rest of my body was on a sheet. It was rather uncomfortable. Finally, the bath and shower were constantly dripping despite my best efforts to stop it.

Location was only a couple of minutes' walk from the central train station and China Town.

Unfortunately, the smell of cigarette smoke came through the central air conditioning system in the evenings despite smoking within the hotel being prohibited. I suspect someone was smoking on a nearby balcony close to the central air conditioning system.

Received an upgrade to the top floor with a bigger room and extra bedroom than what we requested. Staff member Mari came down to the car park to show me my car park when I was having difficulty in locating it.

The hotel was close to public transportation. The staff was friendly and helpful. The washer and dryer in the unit was a definite plus.

The lack of different types of restaurants because of the location near china town.

Close to shops, restaurants and transportation. The unit is big and has a full kitchen, full bath/shower and W/D.

The wi-fi cuts off for some reason.
