    The location was spectacular

The service and food at the restaurant. No air conditioning.

Very unique heritage property, beautiful grounds and views overlooking the harbour. Great location for a wedding, rooms across the road from the reception venue

As the grounds are so big, you need to rely on a shuttle to get back to front reception - where you need to get a taxi/irregular bus into manly. The shuttle often didn't come or took 25 mins. So we would end up walking 10 mins up hill, which is annoying when you are going to Manly for dinner or drinks. The rooms were very dated and hot/stuffy. Had to sleep with the doors open out onto the shared deck.

Good room location which was not too far from the Breakfast hall. Liked the outdoor seating outside the rooms, and no mosquitos for the duration of our stay was brilliant.

No plug for the bathtub and not having an option to allow one vehicle to take luggage to the room at beginning and end of stay.

Location, Accommodation and View are Fabulous

Food was too expensive and too fancy in the restaurant, and the food at the Cafe was just okay

    9MatthewPosted on: 11-25-2025

Very quirky and had all the facilities. Very comfortable bed.

Only a small issue but did have a small problem with ants in the bathroom and kitchen.

    5SaydPosted on: 11-23-2025

    Location was awesome and stunning.

The rooms felt dingy and had an old smell to it. This could have been addressed with some freshener. Also for a four star hotel - the fixtures and furnitures were a bit dated.Im also not a fan of the vans - surely we could have had golf carts.

Pristine location — spectacular views and beaches

Some staff drive the shuttle buses way too fast. They should stick to the speed limit like everyone else

    8MichellePosted on: 11-9-2025

Location was beautiful as were the walks around the property - & its history was fascinating.

We were given a room for a disabled person, while good not what we were expecting & we didn't get our water view.

Sadly TV not working - something amiss with signal. You

Easy to get around with the shuttle service. Fabulous meals at the BOILER HOUSE. Great breakfast.Very comphy bed.Best view in the world.

    My stay was too short.?

    8JeremyPosted on: 9-16-2025

Location, Dinner was excellent, Ghost tour and breakfast

main restaraunt should have been open for dinner on the Tuesday. There should be availability to take a schuttle to manly at no additional charge.

    7CaitlinPosted on: 8-31-2025

The breakfast was incredible. The constant shuttles were so helpful

The pull out sofa bed was so incredibly uncomfortable we barely slept. We had a sheet as a blanket so were cold.

    8LouisePosted on: 8-10-2025

The staff were extremely accommodating and very committed to ensuring you enjoyed your stay. The boiler house kitchen & bar was excellent in both quality of food & service.

The sofa bed - the mattress is so thin you can feel every support spring & bar

Only overnight stay to watch NRL at Brookvale and it was pleasant enough

    10RachaelPosted on: 5-14-2025

Friendly staff available all of the time for transport or help. Enjoyed the constant availability of the shuttle. Very accessible for me traveling alone with mobility issues. A beautiful location with amazing views and wildlife. I loved the atmosphere of remoteness, nature and feeling like I went back into history with the old authentic buildings. The restaurant and beach were gorgeous....with high quality oflive music!

It would have been really nice to have a microwave in the room to heat food up since there weren't many food options after hours. The room needed a little more air flow as it was quite warm, but when room the doors were open, I kept getting a visiting wild turkey.? The wild turkeys were a little too tame and would get into your food or jump on your outside breakfast table even if you were sitting there. Possibly there should be some way to control them a little better? A residential dog? The entire turkey situation was slightly humorous.
