Pros +
- Fantastic location. Room was quite spacious.
- Comfortable beds. Great location
- Location, easy check in and checkout
Cons -
- Room was booked for three people, but poorly and also only for two people. Not enough pillows, single blankets on double beds, had to call multiple times and it resulted in me having to make a bed at 1:30 AM myself after a very long flight. Wifi did not work at all for our entire stay. Constantly found black hairs on our supposedly clean towels. Coffee not refilled. No shower door so everything gets wet. It’s one of those hotels that tries to cut costs wherever it can.
- Lots of traffic noise especially at night
- Terribly uncomfortable bed and pillows. Tiny room and bathroom for the cost.

Terribly uncomfortable bed and pillows. Tiny room and bathroom for the cost.
The bedroom was bigger than we expected and the fixture and fittings were very up to date and clean. The bathroom was fine and the bed very comfortable; the room was suitably quiet at night. Temperature control was good. The breakfast was good (included with our 'bed & breakfast' booking). We found the staff very attentive and helpful despite it being a 'crazy time' in the city for the New Year celebrations. The hotel was very well located to walk around Sydney centre (The Rocks, Circular Quay, Opera House etc). The walk back to the hotel, after our time at the the New Year celebrations at the Opera House, took longer than we expected, but this was because of the 'one-way' pedestrian rules imposed by the city authorities for the masses walking away from the waterfront.
Nothing!Clearly the price for the room for the 2 nights of 30th and 31st Dec 2025 was inflated well above normal prices, though this was clear in advance. If we went back to Sydney centre in the future we would be happy to stay here again.
Allowed us early check in for our comfort - much appreciated!
No TV remote in room, fan in bathroom wasnt working so room was stifling hot and dripping wet from steam
Very poor
They robbed me. They said to pay extra so it comes with a view. But It didn’t
Location to everything
All the pillows were very full and firm. I think they could have one medium and one firm per side instead of 4 firms. Mattress was great.
Great location, OK views.
Room was small, lifts broke down, had to ask for hand towels and toilet paper, no sugar for the coffee, 2 adults and one child but only 2 cups/glasses.
Location is really good
I stayed at Novotel Sydney Central Business District, and unfortunately my experience was mixed. I stayed in two hotels in the CBD (Novotel is one of them), and in both cases the rooms felt quite old, which seems to be a general characteristic of this area. The interiors look worn, not very fresh, and not as clean as expected — something that’s important to note.I was especially unlucky to find a cockroach inside the kettle, which was very frightening. I reported this at the reception: the front desk staff member I spoke to was not very friendly, but the manager, Tristan, was extremely polite, supportive, and genuinely tried to resolve the situation and make me feel better.I can recommend this hotel for its convenient location, but not for comfort or the overall in-room experience. The quality of service at the reception also feels inconsistent.
Clean modern
Being charged twice for parking charges to my account with out being consulted
quick and easy self check in and check out, very comfy bed, beautiful room, good aircon
not being able to control every light and having to take the card out to turn off the lights to go to bed but then being unable to charge phone
Free slippers, great spot and everything was easy to access and the staff very helpful and acted like the actually liked their jobs!
Comfy bed, cool rooms and good location.
The pillows are awful. I requested lower pillows but they were still rock hard and very uncomfortable. The air con was good but pretty loud.
Bed was comfy
One day our room wasn't serviced (bins not emptied, towels not replaced amd tea bags etc not replenished. Another day we were only left with 1 towel and no hand towel.
Central and easy to find
No exhaust fan in the bathroomWater pressure terrible Pillows too big and uncomfortable
Walkable to most main attractions. Balcony was nice but only on the third floor.
Price. A lot of money for what you get. But a nice room. Balcony is worth it for an afternoon rest before dinner
Very central location. Some stuff members were very friendly
Not clean. Some other stuff members were not friendly and totally non flexible
Really comfortable bed, pillows., Shower was excellent and very modern. Good room size. Double glazed windows so very little traffic noise. Nice comfortable sofa in the room.
Great location, super comfy bedding, wonderful helpful staff. Amenities and breakfast were excellent too. Would be very happy to stay here again.
Rooms are not very soundproof and the bathrooms had some minor mould in the grout. Otherwise, had a lovely stay with no major complaints. Maybe bring some earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
Excellent location, very comfortable rooms, lovely breakfast, very friendly & helpful staff overall we had a great stay
